@@61henry I wasn't aware of that aluminum barrel - interesting! I would think a heavier barrel would make it a little easier to get the momentum going and maintain a nice, smooth swing, as opposed to a lighter barrel... But I could be wrong.

@@user-ws3hx2qn1f The villain you're describing sounds like Cyber-Grip! This toyline had a few different weird characters like that, which is unfortunate because those guys might have been interesting, but the fact that Kenner choice to concoct those guys and make about thirty variations of Uncle Bob instead of making one single figure of Sarah Connor is kind of a bummer. But that was the state of action figures in the 90's.

This is one of the parts of T2 that I thought was a bit silly, but only because I thought the round count was much higher. Now you have taken the time to count how many shots were fired, it actually seems much more realisitc. Well, apart from the fact that he's a time-traveling cyborg lol

@@thepenultimateninja5797 Yeah, it doesn't seem unreasonable that he could have had them all in the pockets of his jacket, except that his jacket always looked pretty relaxed... the pockets never looked bulgey or anything. Not that I'd want them to, of course. That wouldn't have been the best look for the hero of the film. And I'm not one of those movie fans who demands a perfect explanation for everything anyway, because... well, as you said, he's a time-traveling cyborg, haha.

However... in the future we'll be doing a full-length episode of the show about Mr. Boen, with an in-depth discussion of the Dr. Silberman character, as well as a more detailed look at Boen's career. We'll be looking at a lot more clips, and definitely some stuff from his amazing comedic performances like what he did in Get a Life. What a great show!

Hmm... A few of these figures were re-released later on with different paint schemes or sculpt modifications, but Battle Damage Terminator was never released with a black shirt. 🤔 He WAS reissued with a camouflage-painted shirt (and a slightly modified sculpt) as "Hot Blast Terminator" in the T2-3D line, though.

Thanks for the great comment! While making this episode, I was pleasantly surprised to see that he never shoots more than six rounds without reloading! James Cameron is a stickler for details. I originally did discuss the "hot loading" technique you described here, but the episode was getting to long, so I made the tough decision to trim that out to keep things from dragging on too much.

Exactly. 🙂 That was my point - he has to steer the bike with one hand at all times, so he has to cycle rounds single-handedly via flip-cocking.

Nope, you are still missing it. If he used his left to steer and right for the gun, the bike would stop. In order to control the bike, he HAD to use the right hand for steering AND the throttle. He could only use the left for the gun. Which still leaves you in a bind, because you need the left hand on the clutch to shift gears. And he shoves the gun on the right side of the bike to "holster" it, but the right hand needs to twist the throttle. If he takes the right hand off the grip/throttle to grab the gun, it won't just coast, it will slow down immediately and drastically and he would need to immediately transfer the gun to his left hand. He'd have been better off with the cross handle bar idea or putting it down the back of his jacket.

My main point in the video was really simply that the flip-cock technique wasn't used merely to show off or look cool for the movie; it was because he didn't have two free hands to cycle rounds, so he had to cycle rounds single-handedly via the flip-cock.

There isn't a single thing you just said that I disagree with. I'll be covering the original T2 game for the NES soon, and... I'm not exactly excited about it, haha. But man, your idea of SEGA getting T2 instead of Midway... That could have been something really special!

@@Tfor2show Nice and thanks for the reply! Japanese games have always been superior, especially in the 80s and 90s. Western games were mostly junk, especially the movie-based games, except for a handful of titles like DOOM. (Fox approached id software early on to make it an Aliens game -- particularly James Cameron's movie.) id probably would've been the only good American or western choice for a Terminator game! And yes, SEGA did a nice job on the Jurassic Park arcade game from 1993. The very first one that was common in Chuck E Cheese's that had the rocking booth. If I could change our timeline like Skynet attempted, I would make things like this happen haha, and maybe ensure that T2's cut lab complex scene was filmed and made it into the final cut. nice channel!!
