Paige is a superstar for more reasons than her basketball skills.

Hopefully the shot drought against UNC was an anomaly. I will save my analysis after what I see in the next game, but if UCONN misses open shots like that again, changes will have to be made. A National championship is very hard to win. A WNBA championship is just as hard. You both have to be lucky to win both. There's over a hundred teams in college that you have to mount over. In the WNBA it's just a hand full of teams.

Paige only played 2 1/2 years. She made the right decision to come back. They deserve a healthy team this year to see what they can do. Geno did the best job of coaching last year I have seen. To get as far as they did with only guards and no center was unbelievable. Only 2 scorers that were consistent. 4 freshmen. 1 starter over 6'. Azzi and Aubrey will help a lot

I think it’s a bad mistake to start believing that only Paige can be the difference maker for the Huskies. Let Geno publicize that to psyche Paige. He has to be the one to believe that there are other 5-stars that can be adequate. Geno takes a while to trust in his recruits. I think they sense it. Q should have subbed-out Ash early in the NC game because she deserves the shot. I’ve seen Geno squander games due to poor tactics. Ohio State’s press was easily dribbled around of the next night by Iowa. Many games were lost because he could not contain one player; Diamond Miller, Chelsea …..of Arkansas, Hannah Hidalgo. The onus is squarely on him, his decisions are what will make the differences. Geno, you have a wealth of talent now, don’t rest the team success on Paige. Be open-minded!

If I were Paige, I would stay another year instead of going to an organization like Dallas... Yuck! Playing with Arike, the ball hog of all ball hogs... hell no....

This game showed me how important the recruiting of Sarah Strong was. She is a player who plays with her brain a lot. She looks ahead so she can anticipate where to pass it. She's amazing. She'll start hitting the 3s soon!

Great to see Paige get a strong start in the first quarter to build a huge lead, THEN bring the other players into the offense. Ice and Sarah were great.

Shot out to one of the best play by play announcers in sports, Beth Mowins. Ice and Sarah seem to have developed chemistry in the paint. Overall, it's a good team win ...

The young Huskies other than Sarah Strong were a disappointment as they couldn't adjust when NC went to a zone defense! UCONN won because Paige was unstoppable and Sarah showed up to play even though her 3 pt shot is still off! Sitting on the bench is Fudd and Griffin who's return withAzzi's shooting and Aubrey's driving ability will easily defeat a zone defense!

Once Sarah Strong three point shot starts falling it’s gonna be a wrap on those freshman of the year conversations

UC gets high marks for defense, rebounding, energy/hustle. Their offense was weak, especially against the zone. Shooting was atrocious-those threes were wide open; they just missed them. UConn will surely improve. They will have to, because they can’t possibly beat the top 5-6 teams playing like they did tonight.

Two bigs almost all the time, just as I predicted.

I think Ice made a good case for more playing time, Obviously at El Alfy's expense because Strong is not losing minutes. Both of last year's freshman guards are almost certainly losing playing time but it's not that they are playing badly, we just have more depth. Need to work on playing without Paige; she needs more rest

Omg I saw the fight😭 he got a nasty cut over his eye and was escorted out. He started it🤷🏾‍♀️ but aside from that, the game was really good! had a little bump in the road but the huskies came right in back!

I will be glad when it get to the point where they play better teams. These games don't really mean much.

My thoughts were that the freshman was quite nervous, Strong didn't play like a freshman. NORTH CAROLINA went to a zone the team is built to break the zone. Once Fudd comes back it will make it a lot easier to break the zone defense. I thought Q would play to give the team a different look on offense. Otherwise good game, good test for Sarah.

That game made me appreciate Sarah a lot. If it weren't for her defense, we would be in deep trouble. That was a good test for the Huskies. They still need to figure out how to keep the offense going in the last quarter for the rest of the season. They play weakly in the second half in a total of three games in a row which I don't like to see. They can't play like that against other tougher opponents. They need to finish strong at the end. Hopefully, having Azzi back can change the momentum in the second half. She usually dominates the second half rather than the first half. I truly wished Paige could have scored one more so she could grab a 30-piece

All those 3s that were missed will fall eventually. This team can shoot. Sarah was just off from 3 but was great in every other aspect. Ash wasn't quite on her game. I trust they will get better

I thought kk and shade were disappointing tonight. I thought Cheli should have played more. She was solid defensively at the end of the third and she is a connector on offense. Can screen, dribble, and pass. Allie looked nervous. That last three she attempted missed by a mile.

Paige 4-8 from 3. The rest of the team 3-21. 7-29... Paige drives the middle, perfect pass...miss... We'll be okay, but always seem so lost without Paige. Ashlynn seems to struggle in the big games. Paige was 12-21. She should've been 24-42.

I was happy with the first half but that zone defense from UNC had us scrabbling for offense. I’m happy we got the win but also showed us what we need to work on.

This game showed why you can’t rely on first years to lead and finish a game. If Paige is not on the floor, we lose momentum completely and would eventually lose the game. This needs to change. Peace.

Brady and Chen were pretty good. Paige had a great start. Sara has a lot of talent. She was off from long range. She rebounded well. Blocked 5 shots. That was great to see. Azzi will keep teams from zoning. She is the zone breaker

Uconn would be in alot of trouble without Strong. Clearly the 2nd best player so far and she is just learning the system. Future All American as her career progresses. Need to get Fudd back before that December stretch of 4 ranked opponents in 5 games. That stretch is going to be really important to UConn's seeding in the tourney.

Paige will get more help in the next few weeks that will make it easier for everyone to learn the coaches scouts

Carolina is no slouch. But I’m more impressed with UConn than I’ve been in years. I’m guessing 81-73 but I think it won’t be as close as the score indicates.

Hoping for a close game as I am with all the good non-conf teams. Looking to see if Paige takes over or defers, or if someone else steps up.

Ash is becoming a true scorer, I look for her to have big game.

That was an excellent preview of the UCONN/NC game. Let's hope UCONN keeps the mojo going. NC could be tough on defense. Paige might need to score at least 30.

A game like this on the road is one id like to see Caitlyn Chen be a little more aggressive. This is one of the reasons Geno brought her here. For her experience. She was pretty good last game.

Qadence needs to play more with KK because Paige truly benefits from much faster pace. Too talented for boring half court sets.

Aloha Ryan and Phil! So happy to launch the 24-25 UConn wbb season. The wbb team is loaded. We only have a glimpse of the youngsters, and they look great. The sophomores are poised to strike. Now when you factor in Paige, Azzi, Aubrey, Caroline, Ayanna AND Kaitlyn, you have to hope that the coaches can make great decisions on their matchups, mixes, and combos. UConn wbb will be overpowering if deployed in the right manner. The guns are available, the generals have to use them correctly!

UConn recruiting news. They missed on Somfai. They better get Vukosa or it will be two years in a row of missing out on their top targets.
