This is the official interview channel for Oren Siegel, Oded Fluss, and Natalie Siegel's Jekyll and Hyde.
The Donnas interviewed by Oded Fluss and Oren Siegel
Originally aired in August 2008 - The Jekyll and Hyde show on 106FM Jerusalem. At the time they were celebrating 15 years together.

The Donnas are still one of my all time favorite group. Proper empowering music, catchy. Music sounded simpler than it actually was. Wonderful musicians whose musical career ended by modern music business.

Andy Cairns interviewed by Oren Siegel and Oded Fluss (2008)
Просмотров 775 лет назад
This interview originally aired in June 2008, the Jekyll and Hyde Show on 106FM Jerusalem. Andrew J Cairns of Therapy? was a milestone interview for me. The first record I ever paid for was Troublegum. This was postponed after I lost a family member and Andy was very patient, and ended up being a wonderful interviewee (as I had hoped). Check out the rest of our classic Jekyll and Hyde interview...

Chris Goss of Masters of Reality and Goon Moon, producer of Kyuss/Queens of the Stone Age/UNKLE/etc, and a charming human being. This interview originally aired in October 2010 on the Jekyll and Hyde show (Oren Siegel and Oded Fluss) on 106FM Jerusalem.
Justin Trosper interviewed by Oren Siegel

Originally aired in March 2013, on Jekyll and Hyde (Voice of Peace Radio). Justin had just started Survival Knife (which is now, unfortunately, defunct) but has since started Nocturnal Habits with Sarah Lund (also of Unwound). This was the last interview I did before I went on hiatus from the radio (although two more were scheduled). Here is the breakdown: Justin Intro 1. Unwound - Laugh Tr...

Zach Hill Interviewed on Jekyll and Hyde (Oren Siegel and Oded Fluss)
Просмотров 46 тыс.7 лет назад
Old, in depth interview with a man who was already a legend back then. He was so humble and friendly, he didn't even know it. Loved Hella, fell for Goon Moon too, and obsessed over the first solo LP. This was before the Hella reunion and, of course, Death Grips. One of my favorite interviews. Originally aired September 2008.

Dude, the thought of him trying to get a band together to play his solo stuff. That would’ve been so insane.

RIP Vern

dude ty and i’m sorry but if i wanted to listen to their music i would it’s kind of irritating
This is very obviously a radio slot, just fast forward dude

I wish Elysian Fields had video recorded their audio recording process for various albums.
Zach hill is such a cool dude
Considering the insane lack of Unwound interviews on youtube, finding this was like a goldmine, especially considering the length! thanks for this :)
Thanks, I appreciate it. Honestly, Justin was a wonderful interviewee (and I've learned not to take that for granted). It was a real treat to talk to certain musicians and get to ask questions i was curious about.
1:34:13 and they just announced a tour in 2023, 30 years after Fake Train!
sadly without vern
It was great but it wasn’t anywhere near as brilliant as Vern. Still, what a tribute.
Thanks 🙏

what is song at 24 min ?
Zach is really a trailblazer. Always synthesizing experimental rock w electronic textures in interesting ways that never cease to inspire. Never been disappointed by a project w Zach in it. Thank you for the interview, wish there were more interviews w him.
Ya man.. one of my all time faves
Unwound was an amazing thing to see and experience and still listen to. Oren's comparison to SY at the beginning is off the mark - Sara is such an amazing drummer, Vern's bass killed in every song and Justin played and created more great stuff with one guitar and an echoplex than Thurston and Lee did as a team, and JT never felt tedious. Unwound were tremendous as a band (even decades later), and much more rewarding; though, of course, SY deserve a lot of credit and made a lot of good and important music.
I completely agree. Unwound has always been eons more enjoyable and creative than SY in my opinion. But people usually hold SY in some kind of mythical regard. My comment was in regards to the spirit and artistic sound exploration.
If sonic youth and fugazi had a baby it would be unwound

Bro, can you just be the one to do it. I'm a father totally beaten down by life, so I can't devote the time and energy, but man I would love to skip through this several times and listen to what Justin has to say. So much cool history and band/label interconnections
God... it’s so nice to hear Zach is making decent money. I know money isn’t everything. But god damn it’s convenient and I’ve heard Zach has been homeless for a stretch or multiple times on the past. I’m happy for the whole of death grips. They’ve all been through grimy and hard times. Seems like the hard work did pay off for them eventually.
FYI Olympia now hails from Portland??
You'll fnd the answer in Tukwilla
Great human!

There's something poetic about closing your radio show interviewing JT about, among other things, the album that (along with The Argument and 9/11) brought an era to a close.
The idea of talking to zach about everything and nothing for two hours seems like it would be one of the coolest experiences of my life. I really look up to this man, his humbleness, his kindness, his realness, his life's work and his criativity, it inspires in a way that nearly nothing else on this planet does. I really wish I could talk to him at least once in my life, for real. But I guess it doesn't really matter because his work speaks for itself.
hes just a guy

his creativity levels are just so fucking insane on top of his emense levels of talent jesus fuck this man is legendary his passion is incredible
He’s probably talking about the guitarist for Maroon 5, who later in 2011 mentioned him briefly on Twitter (he actually says Zach is one of his favourite drummers and links full moon (death classic) on thirdworlds.net)

A true artist. The real deal.
Oh yes
I just realized that Tim Alexander is an influential on Zach’s Style of drumming I can hear it in terms of the kick drum rhythm Also the collab track with Les Claypool on More than a Fairy is another indication too I just haven’t realized
check out animal collective’s first album too, drums
I can tell it's zach because of the laugh
he has a beatiful laugh
He has a weird and beautiful laugh
Justin Trosper is such a great musician & such a nice chill person. Got a chance to meet him at an Unwound show back in 97, & a couple more times in 2014 @ Survival Knife shows (another AWESOME band!) Still have hopes that he & Sara Lund will reunite w/ Vern one day! Vern's bass (& guitar) work was so great!! I will always luv Unwound!
you're in luck homie

Sad that it took Vern passing for this to happen but grateful I got to see them last year. Jared was the perfect choice to pay tribute to the inimitable Vern. RIP!!!
Great! What a band
Her singing voice is intoxicating but she mumbles when she talks 🤔
ícҽís թհօҽղíx you’re right, she does mumble. I think that’s part of her signature, though. A comparable artist that I like is Julienne Davis...she does something similar when she sings and it’s really hard to sing to. Still groovy 😎
aye, this aint reul
What a great interview! Zach is such a great and talented guy. His music is so great.
Hey, man?!? How are you? Okay, like I am from the past. Drossjammer on MySpace. Man, we should jam! I’m serious. I dig your music. Remember “The Black Vomit of Yellow Fever?” Well, if you’re not busy sometime, we could jammoth like a clammuth! This is weird. I know. Contact me. I’m in Phoenix, AZ. I’ve got a place to jam.

right on dude!!!!
Also I feel exactly how Zach feels, if I go a day without playing I feel like shit
I bet Death Grips will do a what's in my bag, but it'll be an instrumental album. And they'll have Amoeba film it on a cellphone with some weird ass filter over the whole video (I really hope they do that)
Lol
What the fuck
Still praying for this
excellent

They chose to play a goon moon track, but not one Zach is on 🤣. He plays drums on & co-produced every track on the first record (which is an amazing album imo), but the 2nd one that "Every lionhearted Christian man" is from, Zach only played on "my machine", josh freese (now the foo fighters drummer) was on all the other tracks
