Based review. Thanks for being honest and not being a sheep follower. if you go back and play Mario 64 now, it hasn't aged well at all in several ways, with many problems, such as unreliable/clunky/slippery controls that will cause you to die 100 times, input delays or not registering inputs at all leading to tons of deaths, bad level design, inconsistent movement and physics, terrible camera that leads to tons of deaths, having to totally redo levels multiple times either due to collecting a star or dying, repetitive gameplay that gets boring after awhile, cryptic star locations and quest lines with zero hints or explanation, among other issues. So, yes, Mario 64, is overrated tremendously, and in hind sight, it was not a good game back then, and it's an even worse game by today's standards. Other superior 3D platformer games from the fifth generation, such as the Crash and Spyro games, have aged like fine wine, because they didn't have the issues that Mario 64 had, while Mario 64 has aged like milk, yet Mario 64 is heavily praised to no end, due to nostalgia, popularity, and bias from the Nintendo fanboys.

I hate the phrase I feel like people overlook the problems of the game as that comes down to personal preference on what you consider a problem as many of the problems you have are not seen as problems clearly if the games reputation is to go by. This is not specific to this video or channel but anyone who uses that phrase as I feel like that's just saying that you have to admit they are problems based off only what I define as a problem and judge it by that then its fairly rated.

I thoroughly respect the lack of a cringe charicature of yourself that shows up randomly while you speak. Also, on your argument that some of the stars aren't explained well enough or at all, like behind chain chomp's gate, I think that's the point. The game is encouraging you to search and find things out on your own. One of the biggest complaints about the DS version of the game was the addition of the minimap on the bottom screen that shows you where the stars are. That being said, this game is utter shit nowadays. But it was a product of its time, and millenials refuse to drop their initial impressions of the game even though I'd say that every mario game previous to this one outperforms it in terms of level design and control. Leave it to millenials to remain children their entire lives. Yes, I'm prejudiced towards millenials.

Kinda weird that there were only 5 remakes of Mario games, four of them being in the same batch of remakes. Unless you count Super Mario 64 DS which I don’t.

To be fair shokora was a Ghost that needed help to go to heaven I still want a shokora cameo This is clearer in japanese guides But long story shorts There was once a great kingdom Golden diva cursed shokora and she was waiting for Wario i guess
