a year ago i found my older brother's ps3 and saw that they had the free uncharted 3 multiplayer game so i decided to buy uncharted 3 on my ps4 to see what its like and now its one of my favourite game series also anyone remember stranglehold?
Another thing to mention is how perfectly smooth and gradual the level progression is in this game. Every level is just a bit harder than the one before it, and just a bit easier than the one that's to come after.
Agreed! It’s really well done in that department - maybe except Tiger Island. That level is something else 😅
Loved it as a kid, along with jazz jackrabbit this was the best you could get when it came to multiplayer with kinda rubbish pcs
I’m not familiar with Jazz Jackrabbit, I’ll look into it
Finally a BO6 video that isn't filled with negativity
Not sure about MP or Zombies quality, since I'm just talking about the Campaign, as I say early in the video. I'm sure most of the negativity comes from that, but I wouldn't know since I have barely played those modes. Thanks for the comment :)
niceeeeeeeeeeee
I revisit old games a lot, but not the bad ones. Like, I also have some nostalgia for TR Angel of Darkness, but I wouldn't play it anymore. I revisit old games that are genuinely timeless in their design, the ones that are just as playable nowadays.
love this game tbh my childhood
I feel the same, one of the best titles from mine.
I really need to play this because "Black Ops" was always my favourite. Sadly I dont have enough HDD space to install it...
I see what you did there
Best games low key, my cousin had them and I played them a hundred times
YOU DESERVE MORE SUBS
THANK YOU, MY FRIEND
I played this when I was akid
Hope you had fun!
You couldn't be more wrong. In fact, there's dozens and dozens of videos already out there proving just that. Nostalgia is only a factor for certain games, but most old games are still loved because they're good. Good game design does not age, unlike your outdated mindset.
Your comment proves you haven’t watched the video. I’m referring to generally bad or flawed games, not games in general, and especially not good games.
@@ghazzmedia I have, you barely mentioned them (and some examples mentioned really aren't bad or were always considered bad). On top of that, the title very much implies it's a general statement. Could make it an easy fix by adding the word 'bad', but it's just clickbait that promises something that it doesn't deliver. It's like making a video titled "all men are bad" and then only talking about specific types of men and only mentioning that it's not about all men in a short sidenote. Congruence is important.
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll have that in mind for the next ones 😄
Uhmmm, cuz they legit rule? My brother in Christ, would you rather play Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League or Concord than Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3?
Never in a million years. But you also compared two awful games to a very good one, and it's not even the best in the series ahah
@@ghazzmedia There isn't a single new skating game released in over 15 years that even compares to THPS3.
It’s subjective. Both THPS 2 and 4 are better than the third. One came before, the other came after. In recent years? Sure, I agree with you.
@@ghazzmedia They aren't new, nor did they come out in the past 15 years, nor do they make THPS3 worse by virtue of being there.
@@ghazzmedia whilst the games I obviously cherrypicked are indeed a bad example are also a pretty effective example of modern gaming
I'm surprised people are still talking about this lol those speed runs are impressive for such a difficult game. Nice taunts, scallywag/3:21 landlubber, and presentation.
Claw will never get old for me
In Bulgaria we also played that game as kids. Good times I revised the game every 2 or 3 years. I play it since about 2004 this and terraria since 2011 love both the games !!!
Old games have a special place in our hearts, and Claw is also one of those for me.
For me it’s not the memories. I just don’t want to play a 70+ cinematic game that feels empty, while it feels like almost Al the other games that was released this year. That’s why I love retro games & games developed by indie developers
I understand what you’re saying, although I play a lot of modern titles. It’s the majority I play nowadays, to be completely honest. But saturation and repetitive ideas are definitely issues on the industry today.
@@ghazzmediarespective ideas is not the problem. We need more smaller games without needles filler. I really enjoyed the latest Ratchet and Clank. Hardly any new ideas but it played great. Non stop action. Too many games rely on traveling in huge worlds. Collecting branches, flowers and materials. Just let me play a stage in a beautifull world without all the side content. Let me best a mission or a boss and give me a new weapon without grinding for iron.
Inovating is risky for multimillion dollar companies and investments, that's why the industry is walking a very straight and safe path. You see way more different ideas on indie games because there's (almost) no financial risk involved.
Yo dude, awesome vid! Nostalgia is such a big part of games, we all have those handful of games we return to, no matter what
Indeed, some games have that inexplicable pull! Thanks, mate!
I'm nothing but grateful I was playing this as a child, I remember even getting that massive box that came with the game, a shame it's gotten thrown away in time, but damn this game is fantastic to this day! Glad it still gets videos about them!
I feel exactly the same. I had the full box as well and it got lost with time somewhere in my house. At least I still have the original CD 😄
@@ghazzmedia Nice! Same! I typically replay the game once every few months. It's a shame the second game never happened, it had some concept of two new bosses and such, but alas!
Try Get Medieval it's a Gauntlet clone based on the Claw engine. Also there's an editor for it called GmEdit 0.9 that lets you do some tricks that weren't used in the retail levels like parallax scrolling layers below and above the main dungeon floor. The Claw engine was really good and it's a shame it was only ever used in two games. The editor was never finished and almost didn't get released at all, though it's basically complete and is only missing documentation and example levels (it's what they used internally to make the retail levels). IDK if my bugging them through email for an editor back in the day is what caused them to release the 0.9 version but I do recall that a few days after asking it popped up on their website and I got a response telling me a pre release editor was now available.
Never heard of it, but your comment made me look iup and it’s definitely something I want to take a look and play! And that story you wrote actually made me laugh 😂 good job!
Now THIS, this is a worthy Mascot Platformer!
That’s something we can agree on!
LOTS of people played Captain Claw in my country
Where are you from? Curious, because it could have been a place with a good amount of copies sold.
@@ghazzmedia Poland. Everyone played "Kapitan Pazur" :D
From my research, I never found that it actually had a fanbase in Poland, that's really nice to know!
I will admit when my dad got me uncharted 1 and 2 at the same time i thought 2 was the first game
ahaha happens to the best of us
god i remember this as a kid an this game was brutal in difficultly when it came to later stages. plus the games art reminds of those 90 cartoons in the mid 2000s, game is joy for those looking for something new from older games. story wise its at least creative an direction . id say its worth a playthru for those looking for a bit of challenge from the older games.
This video deserves more likes and attention And you deserve more subs Very well put together video Keep it up!
Thanks for the kind words, my friend! 🤍
A DVD drive I bought in 1998 came bundled with this and Wing Commander 4, so I played the "Remastered" version of this game.
I had the original CD, not the DVD, but from my research for this video, I think the DVD version only had cutscenes with a higher resolution. The rest of the game was exactly the same, even the in-game resolution.
Bless the 4:3 ratio, too many players these days play on Stretched ratio and it loses that edge. It's even better if you can manage to play on a 4:3 monitor for that authentic experience 🏴☠
There are some things that just feel better if experienced like it was in the old days!
I remember seeing this game as a shareware in an old edition of Revista do CD-ROM here in Brazil. That magazine was one of the best things of the world in the pre-internet era.
I also have some of those games distributed in magazines. One that comes to mind and that I spent a ton of hours is Pharaoh. Good times!
Doing the video in a 4:3 aspect ratio was an artistic choice to reflect the time when Claw was released. Hope you enjoy the video! 🤍
I've played it and it's glorious . A timeless masterpiece lost in time . Every level has soo much detail and atmosphere . Thanks for making a video on it 😊
Thank you for watching, hope you enjoyed it!
@ghazzmedia I absolutely did , subbed ❤️
This game was installed on the only computer in the library of my primary school. The few of us who would be at the school after the classes and on the holidays programs would play a lot of this and lego bionicle games. I do remember we took a long time to figure out a lot of parts of levels. Nobody completed the game obviously :D This game made my childhood and I forgot about it! I'm the market for a remake/remaster of this :D Nice video and thank you for reminding me of this gem!
I also had one Bionicle game, they were really big for LEGO at the time! And yes, I also couldn’t complete Claw when I was a kid, I think I never got through the sixth level 😂 Thanks for the support!
Strangely, I've never played this!
You should! 😄 I even have the original CD
@@ghazzmedia i'll try to track it down eventually.
Recently you wouldn't believe it recently this very year I have been playing all-four UNCHARTED games and I was totally mind blowing by the visual, the gameplay, the characters and all of the awesome action adventure moments within the games as well.
Yeah, maybe that's what it sounded like a bit 😅
@@ghazzmedia when I play the game series first time of this year, I really kept getting Indiana Jones and The Adventures Of Tintin vibes when playing as Nathan Drake especially with the action levels I enjoyed playing through.
Uncharted feels like a reimagining of the old Lara Croft adventures, with more focus on the action aspect. I like both!
I will never forget the uncharted series❤
I truly miss this series. I wonder if we will ever get another one.
I started the games for the first time over the summer and I’m almost done with the deception, it’s so good; such a nostalgia trip when games were simpler!
Love to know you're having fun! Yeah, games were simpler but, like I said, the quality of life improvements that happened during the original trilogy were welcomed 😅
💪
This is when videogame characters were well built, written and games were fun to play. Now it's all becoming standardized. All games fell the same. From RPGs to Action-Adventure... I miss these kind of games.
I still think there are some masterpieces coming out today from time to time, but I understand where you're coming from. Here's to another future generation of incredible stories and well-built characters 🥂
@@ghazzmedia Yeah there are some from time to time. But I feel the industry, due to investors, is now less prone to take risks and do things different. And it sucks... now the vast majority of games look and feel the same.
Investments are way bigger, which means bigger budgets carry way bigger risks. It’s a double edged sword
@@ghazzmedia You know what I meant with "risks". Taking the chance to go "outside-the-box", like Remedy or Kojima Productions do. Investiments getting bigger also make the investor not to risk that much on "new kind" of games. They want the "safe" franchise that will give them a more return on investiment probability. I totally understand that from an investor standpoint and I would probably do the same if I was one... but I am not. :) Yet.
Finished the whole game (48 achievements out of 52) in 92 hours, with an Elven Shadowdragon Mage. Had a blast with the game. Combat and build making was great. The various locations were looking great, and so was performance! And the lore was good too! :) My only critic, character interaction in the lighthouse, way too sweet, goofy and childish. And discussion choice that are mostly pointless. Anyway, the lack of real choice (most of the time), means this is the kind of game you really play only once... (or twice?) but it was a fun run!
I'll admit I'm still a bit far from 92 hours played, but I'm also having a blast with the game! It's not perfect, but it's really solid and fun!
I’m just like you. Bought it on day one and dumped about 30 hrs on it. It’s a very pretty and flashy game, it’ll definitely for new players. But here’s the thing, it feels like a live service game. It feels like what they did to Gotham Knights especially with loots. And every thing feels safe and doesn’t allow me to be mean I always have to be nice ( I usually have different save files apart from my main so I can be mean to see how it changes things) that’s boring and it doesn’t seem like my decisions matter at all. The puzzles are way too easy. But the combat is great, the enemies do start to feel spongy after a while. Idk who wrote the dialogue but they suck lol, if it’s made for kids then it’s a miss because kids aren’t that dumb. The characters emotions or intentions doesn’t match their faces at all. But it made me want to play the earlier games to see what everyone is crying about tho , it’s not worth the full price I think people should get it on a discount or sale. it’s definitely a live service game turn single player but people should give it a try if they want to
It was supposed to be a live service game at some point, then got transformed into a solo rpg around 2021, where they started production.
You can lower the health of enemies and keep everything harder if you find them spongy :) Hope you keep enjoying the game. It has flaws, like all Dragon Age games, but I have been having a lot of fun.
I know, but I have this problem that makes me always play every game on the harder difficulties 😂 I like a challenge!
@@ghazzmedia You can keep them aggressive while lowering the health, and you can have them do a lot of damage to you, so you still have to dodge them. I mean, if you don't like spongy, then don't make it spongy. Anyway enjoy the game :)
@@ghazzmedia if you play warrior, a condition build (mournwatch) is EXTREMELY powerful, i needed to wait until the middle of act 2 to face bosses that weren't killed in the first 15 seconds by my dots
What a refreshing review. Bioware does a good job of balancing new players to the series, but also having a lot in there for people who have played previous games. Also regarding the tone, it definitely is different compared to what's on the market, but I actually really liked it. I found it to be fun to have all this chaos going on, but the characters were trying to be positive and figure out how to grow throughout the story. Maybe that is cheesy to some people, but it felt relatable to life. It's my impression the game is probably geared towards younger people and is trying to offer optimism as a contrast to the standard hardened lone wolf hero who sacrifices everything etc.
Yeah, the thing about reviews and opinions is that they’re exactly that - opinions. Something that I like or dislike is not the same for any other person, and that’s great 😄 and yes, I also feel it’s more targeted to maybe a younger or even wider audience. Thanks a lot!
Appreciate your review, it felt honest and without prejudice. You sir, have earned yourself a sub :) About the game: I was interested because I never played the previous games but I fell in love with the ME-series so I hoped it could match the storytelling and characters. It seems that's one of the flaws of this game, so I'll skip it for now.
Thanks for the feedback, sir! 🙏
No one is buying this trash
The sale numbers kind of disagree 😅
@@ghazzmedia I'm glad that you like the game, once you are finished with this one, you should try better ones like Baldur Gate 3, or even, heck, Dragon Age Inquisition. This game is 10 years newer and still can't surpass a game made 10 years ago. And yes, I have played the Veilguard, so this is not some random opinion affected by all the stupid anti-woke sentiment on the MAGA right. PS: Dragon Age Inquisition sold 12 millions copy over 10 years, BG3 estimated around 7.5m to 20m (in 1 year). Dragon Age Veilguard will be lucky to break through 3 millions - probably after 85% sale discount.
and if you like the game for challenging combat, try Elden Ring, beautiful world, super rewarding combat and bosses.
I’ve actually played BG3, but due to some lack of time I abandoned it. But I’m still planning on returning. Regarding Elden Ring, it’s more than completed 😄 Thanks for the feedback and suggestions!
Does Veilguard pay you a rent to live so much in your head ? lmao
Great review! I appreciated your fresh perspective.
Thanks a lot!
