Why We Love Horror
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.3 месяца назад
I try to figure out why horror fans love horror. I also rap.
2:14 this has become an in-joke between me and my brother. When either of us fumbles our words/sentence badly, we just start to say 'if- if a man.. if a man'
Hahaha! I love it!
I used to go to video-stores with my partner, and we'd rent out a movie, buy candy, and get american sodas that you normally didn't see in the stores. Only once we couldn't finish a movie because it was so bad and cheaply made- more boring than good kind of bad. When there was a movie I liked and it had a cool poster, I would ask if I could have it, and they always saved them up for me. I still have them to this day. I don't remember what was the last movie we rented either.. but I do remember feeling bad that video stores closed/turned into candy stores.
That's so cool that you got the posters! I wish I could go back in time and rent some movies.
Ginger Snaps is one of my all-around favorite movies ever.
It's a great movie!
You are very handsome. Have you seen Saint Maud? It is one of my favorite horror films m.ruclips.net/video/EXs2-TY9qok/видео.html
You sir, have a great outlook on life. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!☺️
OK SPOILER ALEART.. NOTHING TO SEE HERE. he had one (kind of) real movie then he drank coffee sat around talking about trees and how great his dog was. If you're bored and looking for something to off yourself to this is for you.
Which one is the real one?😊
happy october, chris! looking forward to all you create
Happy October!😁
Great pep talk at the end, going to share that with anyone that questions my movie taste 😂
Thank you! I'm not too pleased with how this one turned out but I'm glad that you like it ☺️
A rare algorithm win putting this in my feed, great video! I highly recommend the tv movie The Midnight Hour for a fun Halloween watch.
Thank you! Looks like the whole movie is on RUclips so I'm gonna give it a watch 😁
immediately get the Joe Pera "influence"
I'm getting self conscious about the way I talk. I don't want to be the Joe Pera guy 😅
God how much I love this channel...
Thank you so much 🥰
Love that you included that Homeward Bound scene as well as your dog 🤭❤️
Dogs and cats make everything better!
Have you ever heard of Dennison's Boogie Book? I feel like youd like it
It looks like something I would like!
A non-edgy non-douchebag horror fan who makes scones and is comfortable with crying at one of the most traumatizing movies of my childhood Sign me tf up!!!! Subbed!
Thank you!
okay but you're totally right, homeward bound is the best movie ever made
It sure is!
Ernest scared stupid & The Animated film The Halloween tree. You should check those out.
I was actually thinking that I should watch Ernest yesterday! What a coincidence
Love this video can’t wait to watch spooky movies 🍂🍁🎃
October is almost here!😁
I really thought you were from Minnesota from prior videos until you mentioned Sweden lmao
I'm not sure why I have that accent but I kind of like it😊
reminds me of Joe pera talks with you, i love it
I love Joe Pera 😊
I had never heard of The Curse of Bridge Hollow...it looks like a lot of fun!
Check it out when you're in the mood for something dumb and lighthearted!
@@chriswingerTV thanks!
I grew up absolutely loving Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, and I still love it to this day. I say that anyone who has seen this movie and doesn't like it is someone I shouldn't trust. At all.
And if they watch it and they don't at least get teary eyed, then you know something is not right with them!
Halloween 4 is my favorite out of all of them it just screams Halloween 🎃
I haven't watched that in years! Perhaps I should watch it this Halloween.
I still collect DVDs and i have everything from horror movies and tv series (x-files) to disney to British to foreign language ( Swedish, French,Italian, German, Japanese, etc). However i never take anyone to see my media room because they are always so judgemental about all my Blu Rays and DVDs.
It really bothers some people for some strange reason. I don't get it!
Another great upload, Chris! Every video of yours is so very cozy.
Thank you so much!☺️
Really enjoy the spooky season.
Me too!😁
Awesome movies, and great video as always! Makes me very excited for fall and Halloween! 🎃 ❤
Thank you! It's getting close now! 🎃
Love everything you’re doing with this channel, Chris! 🎃👏✨
Thank you!😊
omg i got recommended this video and am kicking my feet and giggling over the uncanny joe pera impression.
I'm starting to wonder if this is a good or a bad thing 😆
Damn somehow I missed you in my subs!.. I've been compiling a list for an October movie fest my sister baited me into over the last few days, maybe even the day this came out😂 this would of helped!!! She sent me a tik tok (I hate tik tok😑) of this person making a Halloween calendar with a movie for every day of October. IT WAS AWFUL! Basically almost every single movie was a popular blumhouse film😖 the three/four that wasn't were scream, nightmare on elm street (first one) and the new IT part one and two.. (the old mini series is best🙄).. She knew i would hate it so tried to trick me into make one for us🙃 it worked obviously!!
I bet you came up with some good ones! And I hope it turns out great. An October movie fest is not a bad idea actually. Maybe I'll do that some day! Me and my dog.
@@chriswingerTV I'm sure your dog would love it! Btw, I got a film recommendation for you: little otik. If you haven't seen it already I'm sure you'd love it🪓🌲
This looks interesting!
I'm obsessed with this...i cried laughing at the ginger snaps commentary
Haha Really? It was that funny?😅 Thank you!
JAA! Fan vad bra! Really great video. I’m a fan of Ginger Snaps too, and the 2nd and 3d are also great. Sleepy Hollow, only seen once and for the first time last year and I loved it. Great Halloween movies you got there. I can highly recommend Bram Stokers Dracula, An American werewolf in London, The Wolfman (1941 and 2010, love both), but this is maybe more classical monster horror but I love that. I must do a video of my own about that.. 🦇🐺🌕
Bram Stoker's Dracula is one of my absolute favorites! It's a masterpiece!
“4 or 5 dogs die in this movie and I still like it. Good job, movie.” Quote of the year, and props for shouting out my favorite Halloween comfort movie. Ginger Snaps is always my first watch of the season, almost ritually. Also, thank you algorithm for showing me this. You sir have a new subscriber and I haven’t even finished the video yet.
Thank you so much! Ginger Snaps is great! I'm surprised you don't hear people talk about it more.
Finding this channel has made me SO happy! Love the usage of the House by the Cemetery theme in a video about my favorite series. :]
I'm so happy to hear that! That's one of my favorite horror movie themes.
Hi Chris, lets go watch sleepy hollow and trick or treat together:) for the tenth time haha, pls bring coffee, I have some pumpkin pies 🥧
Sounds great! I would love some pumpkin pie!☺️
Something Wicked This Way Comes, the original Halloween, Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, Cobweb, The Woman in White To name a few.
Gotta watch Charlie Brown! That's a must.
I'm sorry, my bad. I was not talking about the Wilkie Collin's classic tale "The Woman In White". I was referring to The Lady In White. A 1988 film directed by Frank Lalaggia starring Lukas Haas. It has a real autumn/Halloween look to it. A P.G. ghost, mystery film the whole family can enjoy. 🎃
Ooh, I found it on Blu ray! Looks like I'm ordering movies ☺️
Idk how I came to this video, but I like you bro
Thanks a lot!
The rotary phone is sending me.... : 0 )
I think that phone has magic powers!
i agree everything is delicious outdoors
And it always smells great!
Hi! I know I am extremely late to comment on this, but I couldn't quite get myself to write everything I thought was important down, as it felt sort of overwhelming and slightly cheesy. I felt so specifically identified with this video. Just before going to sleep, I usually imagine myself on a special rollercoaster inside a haunted castle. The seats of the rollercoaster are protected by a magic class, so nothing can penetrate it, but you can see every sort of scary beings approaching you or trying to get through, and that is the type of sh*t that gets me so relaxed in my bed that I fall asleep hahaha. I love controlled horror, just the right amount of exposure to something eerie so it doesn't become overwhelming, but just a buzz of something different. Besides that, I wanted to let you know I also felt your love for pines extremely relatable. I can't say I love them that much myself, but I do find very specific things enjoyable, like certain soft textures in fabric or the smell of honey candles. It was very special and endearing to see someone who lives so far away feeling so fulfilled and being open about this sort of comforting elements. Truly a special video to me.
Thank you, I'm so happy you enjoyed the video! I can relate to that rollercoaster thing. A lot of times when I go to bed I try to think of something that really scares me peaking through my bedroom door or standing by the foot of my bed or some kind of scenario like that that will creep me out. Not sure why but I love it and I always find that that's the best time to come up with something scary. Thanks for taking your time and writing such a long comment!☺️
gonna wtach paranorman today! thanks!!
and will go back to give bridge hallow another shot (haha started it last halloween) - also love the twin peaks vibes
Paranorman is awesome, hope you like it! I guess you have to be in the right mood for Bridge Hollow😆
@@chriswingerTV I was today - it was a perfect in the background movie, relaxing and halloween-ish. Now paranorman for tonight+pizza!
I want pizza too now 😆
I knew you were a warlock with that disappearing trick! So you can command all these creatures and they will do your diabolical bidding!
I'm not sure, I'm pretty sure that guy who waves saved me in the end!
Thanks for the scene from one of my favorite horror movies, Black Sunday. I love this atmospheric movie where a witch and her vampire servant/ lover get revenge on a wealthy family.
I love how that movie looks! Beautifully gothic!
Chris, a man with a soul
Has Joe Pera's attorney sent you a cease and desist letter yet?
I'm seriously considering going to a voice coach and getting a New Orleans accent or something 🤣
@@chriswingerTVIt's not just the voice, it's the whole persona. Don't worry, though. Joe is too nice to care.
Yeah, he seems like the coolest guy!
I have to be honest, I did not like this man's vibe. But I'm still commenting for the algo because I respect the effort.
That's kind of you ☺️
THIS GUY GETS IT 🎃🎃🎃🎃
Glad you think so ☺️
It's not a Chris Winger video without talking about something spooky and then ending on "look at those nice trees" somehow.
Gotta look at some trees!
the ginger snaps series has been one of my favorite halloween series since i was a kid!!
I have to watch the sequels!
@@chriswingerTVthere’s a ginger snaps that takes place in Canada during frontier times with forts and hyper religious overtones and it has a great twist (to me). Worth a watch on an autumn evening.
That sounds awesome! Adding that to my list this Halloween.
If you are ever in America and in Houston Texas, look into the store called Twisted Time Machine. There's a lot of vintage shop store including a shop that sells VHS. I've seen a lot of old scary movies there. Not sure if you have a VHS player, but if u do, it's worth checking out. They also have posters and toys related to some of the movies. It's like stepping back into time when we use to have block buster stores. I'm gonna see if I can make the dammsugre. I've made piroshki, it's sort of like a Russian version of a hot pocket. The dammsugre looks interesting and curious to try it. And by the way, you are handsome, you remind me of Kristoff from Frozen. Don't ever say that you are not.
Great choices! Sleepy Hollow is one of my all-time faves and Paranorman is so fun! Ginger Snaps is a Canadian production 👍🏼🇨🇦 I would add The Woman In Black. It’s a dark ghost story with Daniel Radcliffe, not specifically Halloween but set in the English moors - the setting and the architecture alone make it worthwhile! One nitpick: please fix the spelling of Halloween in the thumbnail 😬
I love the woman in black! It's a great movie for Halloween. Oh, crap! Thank you! I didn't notice that 🤣
