      Yes! if it's petrol engine mix acetone with DMSO in proportions 4:1 (for example for 400 ml acetone add 100 ml of DMSO). Than this mixture add to fuel tank in proportion 240:1 ( for example for 60 liters of gasoline add 0.25 liters of mixture). You don’t need to do anything extraordinary, just roll out the mixture as quickly as possible (especially important in cold weather)

    Do you know anything about how dangerous DMSO is to touch/breathe? Or have you seen any guidelines for safe use? I think on the e46 boards they said it was pretty serious to take proper precautions. I have not looked into it myself. If you're interested in piston top cleaning, it might be worth checking out a video, "Yamalube Ring Free Plus vs. stuck piston rings" by DIY Dave. At 24:30 he shows how clean his piston tops got by using it (Yamaha Ring Free) as a fuel additive (he also used it as an oil additive; but I assume the combustion chamber cleaning was a result of the gasoline mixture). Unfortunately it did not solve his oil burning problem. But it did clean his pistons extremely well. He has "before" pics, in a video titled- "ATS 505 CRO vs. stuck piston rings" at 21:08 What was your reasoning for doing the flush? Was your car burning oil? Or was it just preventative maintenance? And did the DMSO seem to fix the problem? Do you have any long term updates? On a side note for anyone interested- there is another way to introduce chemicals directly into your engine while it is running. The way racecar guys do it - like water/methanol injection. Basically a fine mister sprayed into the air intake. I think you would google "diy methanol injection" or water injection, or induction service, etc. Ty for the great video. The comparison shot at the end was really helpful. * (I guess DMSO is not extremely hazardous. I guess the problem is, that it dissolves the carcinogens in used oil, and [DMSO] can penetrate your skin barrier, transferring those carcinogens into your blood. But please read up on it yourself)

      @@samwong8958 DMSO loves water (technically its hygroscopic) and your rusty metal is due to the water the DMSO picked up. Go buy some Epsom salts, non scented, spread it out on a cookie sheet and put it in a hot oven for a while, say 250F for an hour. Then pour a generous portion into your DMSO. This process will remove the water from this solvent. You may have to filter before use, just so you don't add mag sulfate to the oil and put the spark plugs back in while soaking, because your dry DMSO will pick up water out of the air.

    This is one of the best DMSO flush videos on RUclips. Thanks. A few things to consider: do this only in well ventilated areas. When you apply DMSO and leave your car running, the exhaust fumes stink like crazy, your neighbours will kill you. Second: I recommend covering the entire engine bay with blankets. Only the cylinders should be exposed. DMSO is incredibly aggressive and will eat away everything in its path, even your car paint. And third, before you do this, please guys, check if your car has a coated oil pan or not. If you do not know it, stay away from DMSO. I did this on my BMW and it worked incredibly well. The pistons in my car looked like brand new afterwards. I mean they were shiny and had no carbon at all. I am surprised that the results in the video are good, but not excellent. When you pour the DMSO into the pistons, the engine should be hot. When you did the "mixing" with the stick, were the engine and the DMSO warm? If you did the mixing with a cold engine, maybe that is the reason why the pistons did not turn out as clean as expected. Nonetheless, this is an excellent video. Thanks again.

    • @samwong8958
      @samwong8958 4 года назад

      Pistons #1 and #4 were dirtier. The funny thing is that I realized that after I watched the video. I had to do "the mixing" at least for ten more minutes. I am planning to repeat only that procedure next year. Thanks for the comment.

    Thank you so much for the informative video. My question is does DMSO have any effect on the plastics and rubbers and or bonding agents used in gaskets? Anyone listening I have a great Idea, to use DMSO or other solvent in an airless paint gun, will need a modified skinny extension tip but you could use it to pressure wash the inside at targeted locations. For me the piston's oil drain holes are plugged, unfortunately I have a painted pan 1ZZFE, so either strip the pan or try another solvent that wont eat paint.

    • @samwong8958

      Basically the idea of the flush number 1 I am doing is to dissolve the sludge from the bottom of the pistons, the oil piston rings and the oil paths. The second flush was for the top of the piston and for the two compression rings. Flush 3 is just to clean if we have something left. I did a test an week before that engine flush with small rubber gasket, a camshaft plastic sensor, an oil pump chain tensioner and couple of valve stem seals in a cup with DMSO for 30 minutes and nothing been damaged. But all these parts were from my type engine. I have another video of piston cleaning - ruclips.net/video/G-nESS-Z8wM/видео.html. Keep in mind that the engine flush I did was with 10% DMSO and 90% oil. I wouldn't take the risk to spray 100% DMSO only inside the engine.
