That was a great video, cheers!
Did all of them sprout though?
Thank you. I really learned more from you not saying one word, compared to all the videos I've watched and they talked so much, I didn't get nothing from them.
I love planting trees so tested this method but I don't have the seed yet
Great video!! Thank you!! Wonder if you know how to propagate by rainbow eucalyptus cuttings?
❤
We can directly place the seeds in soil also for easy germination
What kind of soil/soilmix do you use in the second stage?
trying this method ill update on how it goes!
Update on your rainbow eucalyptus?
Dude your videos are so well put together. relaxing and therapeutic I don’t understand how you don’t have a bigger following
I hate just watching and not being able to listen to words , BUT, that was very well done and helpful. Thank you
Interesting video. I use damp vermiculite myself to germinate seeds. It is airy and retains moisture well, and a lot easier to pick sprouting seeds from compared to cotton 👍🏻
.
How to imagine that such seeds exist in a banana. Many people don't know that banana seeds are tiny. The reason for this is the genetic modification of bananas sold in the market, so that there are no seeds. Because of this, people are unaware that normally the seeds of the banana are indeed found in the banana.
I loved this video ❤❤ great job
Danke für das Video, good Job!
I have 20 seedlings which are about 55 days old but only just developping their first real leaves. Not sure why they are so slow. Maybe because I have used coco coir? I am too scared to give them fertilizer so I only give them compost tea every 20 days.
Yeah as the video said coir has virtually no nutrients and cannot sustain plant life for very long in its own. It’s just a growing medium that you add nutrients to. How are your plants doing now?
Eucalyptus and similar species typically grow in low phosphorus soil so the fertiliser needs to have low or no phosphorus. Phosphorus will kill them
How long did it take to germinate once you sowed?
what an excellent choice of music - i was happily entranced at this germination story
Im starting to grow them now thanks for help. Im growing because of their beauty and want some privacy where i live. But im only watching this video for the 4th time because you made a great video and very calming.
Did you ever grow any?
Banana seeds take 3 weeks to 3 months to germinate. No matter what you do.
HOW many months or weeks from the time you transplanted them to the time you gave them as gifts ? I did not see that on the video, perhaps I missed it ..thank you
I can barely remember, but I want to say that it was something like 8 weeks
Moc pěkný video návod Děkuji . Zkouším naklíčit podle videa, tak doufám, že se mi to povede.
how old were they when you gifted them?
Thanx...I have followed the same procedure.. today after 5 weeks finally the seeds are germinated.. :)
Rainbow eucalyptus seedlings
This is a great video and is well researched. Too many people give up on banana seeds because they either didn't soak them, didn't give a good day/night temp cycle or let them dry out. I'm trying to grow some "Musa velutina" right now and most of the other videos on this subject skip vital information like the temperature cycling or fail to show the final results. For anyone curious, most dormant seeds will eventually break dormancy even without the required criteria. This is why you can sometimes get away without stratifying, scarifying, providing heat or soaking but it will take up to 800% longer depending on the exact species. If you fail to provide banana seeds with perfect conditions, you may be left waiting 3-18 months for any progress. Edit: When potting a banana tree, give it a 40% organic to 60% sand/inorganic mix. This will help prevent rot. They also prefer organic matter from tree bark and to have *slightly* acidic soil at around 5.5-6.5 PH.
Hola hermano, justamente yo también estoy germinando musa velutina, llevan un mes
Where can I get those seeds
Do you sale started trees? Seedlings?
❤❤❤❤
I've just yesterday sown some of these,I'm in Cornwall UK,here's hoping they sprout!!
Uses perlite. Just fill to slightly below the perlite level and the water will ‘wick ‘ up to the soil
@@davejones4269 I think I may have killed it when I chopped it back, took it right back to the first node on the trunk, took some cuttings, one is still green and growing new leaves the rest died
what did you do at 4:35. Were those rocks???? Also what soil was that after the round things went in?
I poured Leca rocks at the bottom to help with drainage. The soil I used was ordinary potting mix mixed with perlite. The ratio is roughly 1 part perlite to 3 parts potting mix.
Hi there, I tried germinating musa banana seeds and after the plug emerged a white mold appears and they were not successful. Do you have any tips or suggestions? I wonder if they got too hot and moist in the windowsill with the lid on.
Your problem is one I am all too familiar with. Warmth+Humidity+Still air is a mold paradise. I am currently experimenting on some stuff to keep the mold growth at bay, although it's going to take some months before I can say anything for certain. My hypothesis is however, that adding a small concentration of hydrogenperioxide to the water, will substantially eliminate mold from growing. I'm thinking something like a 0.1% concentration, although this might be too strong for the banana seeds - Not sure yet! There is also the old household trick of covering your seeds in a layer of cinnamon. Personally I haven't had any luck using cinnamon, but lots of people are reporting that it's working for them, so who knows.
Thank you so much,I ordered my banana seeds from Amazon today, just a question, can I use a damp paper towel instead? Thanks
I love you so much right now. LOL Thank you for showing us. :D
it would be a whole lot easier if you single potted them first time around, less stress on the tree also..
What soil mix did you use while repotting those tiny seedlings?
He used coco coir and perlite when he planted the seed and when he potted them up I think he put Giant leca balls and well draining soil with perlite mixed in it
@@Growgreen Thank you so much!👍
Huhu ive wasted mine, i didnt know about this
Among all the videos I saw yours was the easiest way of growing Eucalyptuses. Thank for sharing it
I noted the container does not have holes in the bottom? How do you resolve the drainage problem and how often you water?
He doesn’t water too much… there is drainage as the excess water goes below the soil and to the perlite
What did you add as “booster”?
i also ask this one, what did he add for 'booster'?
I just planted one also and am going to try to get seeds from it in the future.
Are the seeds in the flower?
I tried this technique, and I have failed twice. They suffered damping off. What can I do regarding the fungi and how to prevent it? Did anyone have the same issue? Every site on Internet say different things, sometimes contradictory. Frustrating.
I'm having the same problems, im not entirely sure what to do either but i think giving it some fresh air few times every day and if its to hot then get rid of the lit and make sure it doesnt dry out
Thanks for replying. I got a new batch and will try opening holes in the lid this time. I will probably try the warming mat also. I hope the adjustments help me prevent the fungal invasion. I start seeing a pearly balls after few days that eventually turn into green nasty stuff. Pretty sure they are killing the plants. I will rather challenge the dryness than the nasty fungi. Once I see the pearly balls they spread fast. If I try full direct light it may kill both the fungus AND the seeds…..
@@JR-td5zj Hi there.. So I bought a Indoor Garden Halo3 and it worked for the seedlings/trees!! I kept the light real low towards the seeds. They are now about and inch big within 2weeks. I’m trying to find out now what fertilizer he placed in there with the syringe?? Any idea? Also did he mix his dirt/soil with anything as well, i’m finding it hard to find good soil these days! I keep getting gnats! I found that the lighting truly helps - big time though, on other plants as well!! Good luck to you on you in endeavors 😊👍 thanks for your time.
Hi Wendy. Thanks for the tips!! I think he just used perlite and cocofiber. The fertilizer is ikea vaxer. It has been discontinued but I found it on eBay.co.uk, as “new vaxer fertiliser/0.5. I didn’t buy it myself so I can’t personally recommend it. It also looks like, since it’s shipped from England, the shipping may be more expensive than the product. I get gnats as well. Multiple failures with different soils. I’m trying again the perlite plus cocofiber and leaving it close in my windowsill, exactly like in this video. What I changed, is that I sterilized the container with bleach prior to start, and used water with reverse osmosis because many germs of damping off can be water borne. so I keep trying different things. Will see! Jorge
You get any to pop? I am going to use 80%perlite 20% peat. Trick is to keep the seeds moist not wet. So I make sure the soil is wet before I plant seeds in it and just mist the pots once a day. Once they start to sprout I bottom water once a week. Works well for alot of different trees so hopefully I will get a few of these going as well.
Lol @ the end!

Great video...Thanks!
