1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Sedan ex-racer derelict walk around #57 #automobile #classic #barnfind

This is an old Chevy I bought from a coworker 5 years ago. He bought it from a widow 10 years before that. When he got it, it was sitting on the frame on the dirt floor of a barn in Maryland. When I bought it from him, it was sitting in the far bay of his garage so long the drum brakes were siezed. It had a hopped up 327 mated to a th350k. The trans and motor were shot from abuse when I got it....

Cool Bubble Heads video
You inspired me to do this. Thinking very hard about it. Btw you could have done much more to this. The shape too,you had plenty spaces to cut off and maybe make a more beautiful shape rather be safe than the common S shape, well this is very beautiful too but still you know. Like those Stranberg has ergonomics, cutouts for placing the guitar in different ways while sitting and playing, you know, this type thing. and maybe upgrade the pickups. Well next project please try to do so,I guess.
Andrew love the video and the concept but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE never make a cut like that again with the miter saw at the 9:05 mark; that can be clamped to make it safe, please protect your hands brother it can be SUPER dangerous to have your hand right there.
Damn, that looked easy. Makes me really wish I had a kickstarter on my Vstrom right about now (my damn starter seized).
@Drunken_Hamster when that bike had points, kicking it was not a good idea, but I put an electric ignition module in and now it's possible
@@SmithBikesX Well my 'Strom is factory EFI, so... You're kinda just selling me on it even more, haha.
@Drunken_Hamster they make those awesome retrofit kits for certain bikes, it just always felt like too much $$, like you're putting maybe double the new starter money into a kick starter. For that do the shotgun shell starter.
что за инструмент?
@user-vj4si6wh4p it's called a ridge reamer. It removes the ridge left on the cylinder wall by cutting it away with a carbide tip. This one is a Lisle model 36500. www.lislecorp.com/specialty-tools/ridge-reamer
@@SmithBikesX thanks you bro
Well done, that said your paint job kinda spoils it.
@thegusk520 not many seem to like the clear coat. when you make yours, you can change that
This was a very interesting experiment, and it almost makes me want to try it as well... Almost lol
@WeirderGuitar thanks, it's still holding up and only requires tuning occasionally, I have not needed to drill the nut to expose the truss rod (so far), but overall it's a guitar that plays and sounds ok and fits in my toolbox bottom drawer. Im satisfied
Китай?

you paid 100 bucks for that ?
Showing you are not guitarist.
Looking forward to your next video
Stupid enough to cut the headstock. Imagine you have no head.
Link to the bridge and nut plz
First, nice job. Second, you let me down by not actually putting out the album "reorienting the jack hole." You don't put that idea out into the world and then not follow through. Bad form, sir. 😂
Thanks, and unfortunately I seem to lack the attention span to concentrate on an album, or practice, or playing in general most of the time. Think lame business/family man Marty mcfly in back to the future 2: I pick up the guitar occasionally, make it make a noise, cringe at my hand like it's my hands fault, put it down and continue on my way. I'm hoping for an industrial accident requiring early retirement and disability to concentrate on my hobbies more seriously, like Dick Proenneke or Tony Iommi.
Love the relic look
@@cosmicmoose6663 thanks
I see dead people
Why now it looks like crap and i am sure it plays like crap
@seanfagan7384 ouch, rough, lets see yours
Cant hear you over the S2pid Muzik.
Youre right, must work on it
a-ha, so zerstört man also eine ibanez 😪
@@dermicha7406 perhaps, but now the ones left are more valuable...
Sweet!
I love it a real life Speed Racer Car lol 😂
they are aphids
First glance: Christine
The guy i got it from called it that, i guess it tried to kill him alot
Bro ditch the song ,sounds like I’m at a funeral bro
Thanks for your input. I'll take it under consideration.
Theres an app for everything
Then it wouldn't be fun
i love the old kawasaki’s. such good looking bikes
I love it
I saw that headlight and I said 57 Chevy, sweet.
I looked at this car and said let me see would I put $60,000 into a 2024 or would I put $70,000 in this one? That's a no-brainer. I'll take the $70,000 price tag cuz it's going to last longer😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What a beautiful car! 😍
Subscribed for updates!
Excellent axe! DIY is the way to go!
Agreed, thanks!
Strange attractor effect
Woow it's a really nice video for me ... 👌👌👌i love it

Just wondering if you could donate it to me, i really love guitars but i do not own any, please🥺
Donate it to me please🥺
I’m not personally a fan of headless guitar but this one is just beautiful I will say, I like it and it’s also even cooler that your a left, keep on rocking brother 🤘
Thank you
Good video. I wondered about doing such a mod myself, and I came to the conclusion that its probably best to semi detach the headstock and leave a little room for tuners that only act as string lock. I would then go ahead and get those single tuner barrels for the bridge end and mount them on top of a 2 point trem plate, maybe a 6 point. Would probably have to stand them off a litlle and then lower the whole thing to be able to get lower action. Ive seen someone do this here on yt. Pretty crafty. That way you can still use the og trem cavity rout as opposed to the steinberger style trem.
Many have asked about the truss rod, that seems to be the main drawback of my installation. ive been waiting for it to warp before addressing it by drilling an access hole between the 3 and 4 strings at the nut so i may slip in an allen. So far it hasnt warped but i picked this guitar bc it seemed sturdy and i think i put 9s or 10s on it so it wouldnt warp easily. I wanted it small so i did what i did, but the way you mentioned is kind of how my full size with a floyd rose is set up, its definitely easier to tune and keep tuned. This guitar was made for the sake of itself for fun and cheap, if i was going to make an heirloom or something nicer there are several companies that make fantastic headless parts to spec. I used the cheapest china stuff on mine. Thanks for the comment! And good luck!
Why areyou kick starting it? I was 18 when this bike cameout.
It was trending at the time and after i put the chyna electronic ignition on, it will actually start after a few kicks cold, never before. Seemed worthy of a short video. also in 1977 i was not even protien!
Nice man!
Thank you
bro where do you put the ground wire
As far as i remember its under the bridge, its been a while now.
i cant believe this thing was possible. thanks for your video and keep up the hardwork. greeting from south east asia
Thanks alot, it was alot of work, but you can do it too. Even without a router you can do this. Take your time and have fun.
Man that is a project! I have skills to do that but, I would be afraid to attempt it. Nice job, thx for sharing.
SHAME ON YOU FOR DOING THAT oh. its just a gio. carry on
What's wrong if it wasn't?
Well done!! I like customizing guitars. I have changed for two guitars their look and shape. Thumbs up 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you!
I like headless guitar but this body don't looks good in this build, great job anyway.
Hey just wanted to say I love the build. Thanks!
Thank you
One thing I noticed, you could have used the wood you cut off the back to make the plug then it would have matched up. Nice work though. P.S. Please polish the frets :)
Youre definitely right, working in the moment left me blind
Looks awful.
But why?
