Love the tone! Same here brother a Nikon Z6iii User!
Thank you and Nice!m to know a fellow Z user 🙌🏾
This is the hardest edit for this shitest cat lmao
Aye chill 😂😂😂 reliable cars deserve some shine too 😂😂😂
Love it! What lenses did you shoot on?
I shot on the Nikkor 35 mm F1.8
Thank you 🙏🏾
💥💥💥
I was absolutely about to switch to Sony aswell, My OG Z6 was going to get sold along with all the lenses. Also was tempted to just get the Z8 but not having the articulating screen was almost a deciding factor for me not that I even vlog I just wanted something different. Im so glad I waited because like you said I get some of those Z8 features but for less of the price. And because ive invested in Z Mount lenses and know the camera well it was a no brainer really, so my Z6 OG with the Atomos Ninja V has now became my B-Cam and I couldn't be happier. Great video
Wow bro our situation ls are so similar! I had the ninja v as well but I was tired of having to use it in order to get higher quality so I sold the ninja v and used that money to get the bmpcc 6k pro but then I was tired of not having the option of auto gos and in body stabilization. Just when I was about to give up on Nikon the dropped the z6iii
And thank you for watching 🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is more a reflection on the social media /YT algorithm than any camera… unfortunately negativity and outrage strokes the algorithm. Feels as though many RUclipsrs simply exploit this by looking for controversy and negative angles. I just bought the Z6iii after years of tentative shopping around and being put off by reviews. I ended up waiting for the next big thing to fix everything but ended up never buying a camera and almost losing interest… until now. I’m loving the camera so far. Cameras are damn expensive (Australia)! Don’t need any buyers remorse that’s for sure.
Glad you found a camera that works for you man! Thank you for watching 🙏🏾
I don't really know much about Nikon cameras, especially for filming video but.. It seems like the LOG is kinda noisey.. I notice this on several other camera brands also.. I personally got away from LOG a while ago, cuz of the noise...so I actively try to find other flat profiles that still let me shape color and mood later. Once your look / LUT was on there tho, it looked good. Thanks for sharing this bruh, and good luck on your goal. I'm already subscribed !
That’s a great observation! I definitely noticed the noise. Nikon dose have a flat and neutral profile that I use sometimes that has no noise at all. I would love it if NLog was less noisier, I like the color science though! It just seems like NLog is geared towards shooting outside on a sunny day lol.
Comparing the Noise pattern on my old A7R V (traded for Z8) and the FX30, they are "finer" while the Z8 is "larger" in some situations however, I haven't had any issues cleaning things up in Resolve.
@@TopshelfJunior Forgot to mention that Sony cameras have noise reduction in camera that the menu setting cannot affect, which Nikon’s do not.
@waynerm002 true the Nikon 📸 has it built into the 10 bit 420 and 8bit 420 codecs
@@itscinemasam Yep, in SDR and HLG modes, not NLog.
Beautiful work mate! 👊👊
Thanks 👍
@@itscinemasam could you share color grading process
Nice footage! I pulled the trigger and picked up the Z6III.😅 What iso were these scenes captured with?
🔥🔥🔥🔥 and I shot these with ISO 800.
Also, I didn’t use any dennoise on the footage.
Nice, you don't seem to have the flickering issue in the shadows shooting Log. I unfortunately do.
I noticed it helps to over expose a little bit, the Z6iii is more forgiving in the highlights
@@itscinemasam True, but in darker environments that it's always possible. You managed to pull it of well.
@@itscinemasam This is seeming to be like what one would do with Sony cameras in SLog 3, over expose in recording and reduce brightness in post to decrease noise in shadows, then apply noise reduction (mostly night or low light area footage) if required.
I think the point is not to pull the shadows up to too far. Here the shadows are where they belong.
DaVinci also removes the flickering
I love your stuff man. Keep going! Im new to this and I find it all very inspiring
@@StevenBoz thank you! I really needed that encouragement 🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@itscinemasam love to see your process for colour grading one day. I know a lot of those exist on the web, but you have a wonderful way of presenting
I've been a Nikon shooter since the D40 came out and a Minolta film shooter before that so I get that if you're a good photographer, you'll make the best of what you have, but with the Z6iii, I've noticed that any criticism of it is taken personally by the other Nikon faithful. Yeah I get it's a great camera, but when someone even brings up the fact that it's ~1.5 EVs worse in dynamic range than the D600 which came out 12 years ago, they get attacked by generic statements like "If you can't take a good picture with this, it's you" and completely lose their mind at the audacity of someone criticizing the corporate brand they have attached their identity to. So let's get that out of the way, this IS a great camera, but it's a great camera that has a potential deal breaker for someone who already has a camera that is higher in DR and it's something that makes a difference in their photography. It may not matter 99% of the time, but that 1% of the time when you have a great photo where the subject is in the light but the background is too bright, that extra 1.5EV can really change a photo from good to great. If it doesn't affect you, then great, congrats, but to say it doesn't matter at all is just copium. Everything else in cameras have gotten better but looking at all the cameras in the last 5 years, DR has either been stagnant or getting worse. That's worth a discussion at least.
@@Arieeeee I was referring to the dynamic range for video. Because the bit depth is only up to 12 for video and I’ll be using 10 most of the time. But the dynamic range is great for photo and a bit depth is 16 so this is not a dealbreaker I took it out and shot and broad daylight, and I had people in shadow with a bright background and when I edit it perfectly. I understand how you feel but at the same time if you don’t have the camera, you should not have much to say. I have actually used it in the field so I know it is capable of. Dynamic range does matter don’t get me wrong. It’s just that if it’s over10 or 11 you have plenty
What lens did you use?
35mm
Nice!
Thank you ❤️
Yeah I enjoyed this. Great grading.
Glad you enjoyed it
Enjoyed this vid, loving the "ambience" of the scenes you shot, great work.
Thank you!!
I think overheating is the main concern for these hybrid cameras over dynamic range.
This camera won’t overheat unless the sun is beaming down on it for 5 hours on a day over 90 degrees.
Can you please make the original ProRes video files available for download?
My camera has 15 stops of dynamic range and it was made in 2005 can you guess what it is by the way it isn't just ratio it's also the number of clear steps between brightness and darkness
Let me see some footage and I can guess
My God, everything looks so wonderful. Please tell how you do such fantastic color grading I see a glowing effect, was this effect achieved using a filter on the lens? Or in post-processing?
@@jr.17 thank you! I used a black diffusion filter from Neewer. And for color grading I used premiere pro curves adjustments after I put on the Nikon NLog lut
How many takes to make the basket?
It took me about five tries to get a swish. But I did make the first one I shot lol
The customisation are far more convenient and numerous options on the Z9. These podcaster are singing for their supper.... I've noticed similarities in their appraisal of the Lieca SL3. Which is a street and portrait camera. Not a fast elite action-sport wildlife photography /professional work. It's all %110 marketing. I have since Diss photography equipment podcasters. They all spout from the same script. That's after I had the Z8 for 2 soccer matches and a Mobile phone conference/launch. I litterally felt some Tech- digital steps back. Great size and weight though from the Z8, but for 4g,nah! I appreciate that though. It's a great alternative back-up +when tone down to a Press Conference nothing more. Oh the battery takes so long to fully charge.
I think that ISO 800 looks better in low light, though the 6400 isn't bad by any stretch.
I definitely agree!!
Great video! ❤
Looks good to me. Shadows look great.
I think so too! Thanks!
The color grading is dope especially since you used different cameras
Thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Great stuff. Can you please do a color grading tut how you get these looks thanks?
@@anilaboutme thank you and yes I definitely can!
It would be best if you tried to balance the image in the third scenario by lifting the shadows of the foreground to match the background and seeing how noisy it gets. Also, the third scenario is moderate in terms of dynamic range. If you ask me, the scene in the kitchen with the lamps is more extreme. The DR is the only thing stopping me from getting this camera. Still waiting for more tests.
Nice video. Thanks for doing these tests with the Z6 III. ISO 6400 was too high to shoot at f1.8 - 2.5, to get a good exposure, stopping down more would yield better results. ISO 2500 would be a good mid ground for these night test with street lights, to provide a more natural look to the scene.
Iso 2500 is more noisier than 6400. Stopping down the lens would be better.
@@nigerian-nightmare True however, that can be resolved by noise reduction as well, having dual base ISO doesn’t limit one to only using the 2.
Спасибо за проделанную работу
As a travel videographer... Light is a luxury. I'm not carrying studio lights around.
Well this camera probably isn’t for you, you need a camera that doesn’t need much light. The Sony FX3 and A7siii is perfect for low light scenarios!
The Z6 III will be fine in low light scenarios, when exposed correctly. This test is just at ISO 800 and 6400, which offers lower noise from the outset however, you can record at higher or lower ISO (preferably in RAW) to expose the scene correctly and clean up any noise in post. If you record in SDR, the camera will apply some NR. The Z6 and Z6 II have very good low light performance, with the Z6 III also continuing that performance. I have owned both and the results have been great. I also used the FX30 (which I still have) and A7R V and for scenes like these, I didn't have to go beyond ISO 2500, while use f4 (16-35 and 24-105 OSS) lens. I recently tested the Z8 in dark conditions (ISO 25,600 in some) at 8.3K NRAW (posted on my channel, with a 2nd video of the NR process), I was able to clean up the noise in Resolve. Sony cameras have noise reduction applied in camera (which you can't turn off) prior to post processing to recover shadows, Nikon doesn't do that, which is why you notice more noise in the RAW footage and you will need to apply more NR in post to clean things up. The Z6 III goes up to ISO 51200 in video, not that you should be shooting there for projects but, you can certainly test it to see what it can do and how it ends up in post with NR. I won't get my Z6 III until late next month, may Sam can do some tests and post for the community.
Excellent videos! Keep'em coming. Great quality work
Thank you and I definitely will!!
Dope video bro!!! Looking forward to the a7siii as a Sony fan
Thank you bro!! Can’t wait to finish the video!
I am getting too much noise in the videos. Is there any way to avoid it ?
Yes either using davinci Denoiser, or just shoot in conditions that help you expose correctly. Or you can shoot in SDR rather than analog which already has denoiser built in
This was a nice video. Subscribed
Awesome, thank you!
Ive shot very, very low light a lot over 4 years, and yes, its amazing, but also impractical. Unless its extreme lowlight, iso 12800 was often too high, and much more importantly, the colour quality SUFFERED…i always struggled to understand, why my best club/dancing shots came from the blackmagic years before, and now i know: internal Raw just renders colours in the shade 10 times better…it just looks soo much better in comparison…yes, its noisier too and i need to apply some noise reduction in some shots, but the 10bit codec compression loses a TON of colour in dark shots, and i having shot both a7s3 and z63 in ultralowlight i much prefer the results of the nikon…
That’s good to know! 🙌🏾
Bruhh its just so lear cam A is sony, im just wondering is it a DR difference? is sony more into shadows and nikon on highlights ? im currently on nikon z6ii and i think nikon feels too harsh with colours. Keep doing those vides btw love them ! Can you actually try to get nikon image look like sony just to see if its a matter of preference or matter of possibilities
I noticed that it’s super easy to push Nikons colors but Sony is harder to push the colors. When I turned the saturation up to 150 the Sony still seemed to stay the same. And yes if you use ProRes raw on the Nikon you can easily convert it to Sony S Log 3 in premiere with one click
When shooting in ProRes raw one, the Nikon 📸 you can convert it to whatever log profile you want in Premier.
@@itscinemasam, you need to switch to Davinci for color grading unless you shoot prores raw a lot.
Thanks for doing this man! The low light is the only thing that is keeping me from saving up for a fx6 or fx3. Is it possible to do a low light comparison with the a7s iii in high iso's? Im very curious about the dynamic range of this camera and the noise in high iso's.
The A7siii is great in low light for sure! But yes I will test dynamic range as well
Looks good! I think I’m gonna wait for the Z7III then decide on that or stretch for the Z8. I’d love Z8-like features in a Z6/7 body and a flip-out screen. Thanks for the vid!
No prob! And have you heard rumors about a Z7iii?
@@itscinemasam Not really. Have you? I’m going off the assumption from previous release cycles. The Z6 and Z7 were both announced in September of 2018. The Z6II and Z7II were both announced in October of 2020. I believe the Z7III can’t be too far behind. I think Nikon made a smarter marketing move by staggering the release dates of these cameras. If the Z6III made this much of a splash, I imagine the Z7III is going to be a pretty nice piece of kit, possibly bordering on cannibalizing sales from the Z8. That is, until they release the Z8II or whatever the successor is.
@@enricojakobsoriano true! I just can’t imagine what the Z7iii can possibly have lol
@@itscinemasam I know, right?! Based off Z6III specs I'd say everything is on the table, lol. Which makes this really exciting!
Great video bro! So the dual ISO is a little different for photos (100 & 500). Love what you're doing homie. Keep going!
Thank you! I will check those out for photo!
Happy with all the Nikon Z6 3 vids.
Dope video man! Thanks! What I would really want to see from RUclipsrs is real case studies, like for exaple, have you seen those promo videos Nikon did for the Z6III, Z8 etc? That kind of stuff. I know it takes a lot of work and editing but something like that would be exciting to see, either videos or photos, and also maybe explaining if you had any issues and/or if everything went great, that way we can all see the true power of these cameras and gear. But love your narration style man, keep up the good work.
Thank you! And I have seen those videos. I do plan to use it on an upcoming gig!
@@itscinemasam Oh, awesome, looking forward.
3:45 very nice. Waiting for Nikon to release an NLOG2, as the current isn't great for dynamic range. Gerald got 2 more stops of dynamic range using VLOG on NRAW. Play around with different LOGs, I noticed improved DR using other logs vs NLOG on teh Z6 III
Yea they definitely need to improve NLog to succeed in more situations. I definitely agree! But if you shoot in ProRes Raw on the z63 you can easily convert to VLog in Adobe premiere. I should do a video on that!
New follower. Loving your videos. I am on the fence about getting an Sony A7C II and this...I am leaning towards the Nikon as I really want this to shoot my sons hockey games and the 4K60 no crop looks solid.
I have used the A74 which is basically a bigger A7cii and I’ll honestly say you’ll enjoy the Nikon z6 3 better because of all the Codec options. Also I hate they the A7cii crops at 60fps 😷 and it’s so much quicker to switch from photo to video on the z6iii
@@itscinemasam Appreciate that.

What makes you so sure???
You are doing amazing job of educating in a simple and concise manner

It's a pleasure my brother.
