Due to the conditions of the water and volume of ice in the water we were not able to make it all the way down the fjord. The scenery was so beautiful there was no disappointment! @richardfamilyproductions Год назад

      Burgers were great! Easily the best I have had on a cruise ship. Annie loved the impossible burger. I believe they are grilled in a flattop griddle “diner style.” Check in was a tad bit busy. It would have been helpful to have a screenshot of our check in time from the app prior to arriving. Plus if we would have waited to put our wrist bands on until we sat down… or understood better how to put them on LOL. We found it was the right mix of party and chill time for us. Definitely nice to have a balcony you can retreat to when your want some peace and quiet. However there are so many nice seating areas onboard a balcony isn’t a necessity.

    Anyone who's been on this ship, or any of the Royal Caribbean's ships....what are the individual drink prices, if you don't buy the alcohol package. The daily cost for the package seems high, but maybe not if individual drink are $10, 20, 30 or more.....

    • @richardfamilyproductions
      @richardfamilyproductions Год назад

      From what I recall the average cocktail is around $13.00. I think you can get some alcoholic beverages as cheap as $8.00 for your bud light level beers. Fancier cocktails were in the $15-$20 range. We opted not to have drink package for this cruise. We have 4 free drink vouchers with Diamond Crown and Anchor. Had we not had those vouchers a drink package would have been cost effective. Drinks add up quickly… especially on those late night 😂

      I've been on South Pacific Cruise on Ovation of The Seas in December 2022. I paid for beverage package. For me it does not worth. In my view if someone like Beer and wine only it is better not to buy beverage package. Buy water bottle package then you have water in your state room, otherwise you need to pay for bottled water. I can give a hint as well if you like, during the Art Auction they serve champagne free. Try it. I always drank Heineken and astubby is about US$7.00. From Melbourne Australia.

      We would love to go back to Alaska! It was such an amazing trip and the Ovation was a great vessel for it. It’s different than a Caribbean cruise but in all the best ways (maybe besides temperature). Average day was somewhere between 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit. Some rainy days may have been colder. The scenery is really what makes the trip. Alaska is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. So vast and inspiring. The North Star has free spots available but they book up quickly so make sure to grab one if you’re planning on doing that. We definitely recommend the North Star experience! @@richardfamilyproductions Thanks! Will let you know how it goes. We are leaving from Vancouver and return to Seattle which is odd...so will spend day before in Vancouver and day of arrival in Seattle. Then the long flight home and loss of 4 hrs. I think with time change. I has to check the weather but I assume its never really hot...im going in May.

      Yes our trip was the first week of June and I would say average temperatures on a clear day was around 60. We had a couple rainy days that were windy and cold but it’s all a part of the experience!

    Hi Kyle, what camera/(gimbal?) are you using? Stabilisation is very good. James

      Hey! I missed your comment somehow. Sorry for a slow reply. This whole trip was filmed in the DJI Pocket 2. It’s a handy little camera and shoots pretty good quality footage. Love the built in gimbal.

    That's pretty amazing they handled your bags all the way, I thought they just carried them off and you had to take them the rest of the way. Any ideas when or where the next adventure will be? This was really cool watching - gave me some insight of what to look forward to next year on the same cruise!

      Yes the port valet service is definitely worthwhile! I believe it was $20 a bag but makes for easy traveling. Annie's bag was overweight so we ended up saving money. They waive any overweight fees I believe as an incentive to use the port valet service. You are going to have so much fun on your Alaska cruise! We are heading to Dallas this month and then to Miami for a Western Carribean Cruise onboard Virgin Voyages Valliant Lady in early December! We will have some exciting content coming here in the near future. We sure appreciate you following this series! Still blows us away there are people that enjoy these videos.

      How long will you be in Dallas? Your videos are fun and enjoyable - they’re “real” and simple, not someone trying to get likes or views and just posting crap content. I definitely enjoyed the journey!

      @@chrisspatcher2800 thanks so much! That is the ultimate compliment. It’s just a quick trip to Dallas for Thanksgiving. Annie has some family down there. We will be in the Dallas area for four days.

    If you have a little extra time and want to save $20-35 getting to the airport next time you’re in Seattle, ask your cab driver to take you to the nearest LINK station to the port, which I think is Westlake Mall and then get on the LINK light rainless train back to SeaTac for only $3 (cab or Uber over to the Link station should only be about $7-10 and it usually runs at least $50 to go from the port to the Airport directly, compared to $10-13 if you add the extra step

      That is a great tip! Thanks for sharing. We had heard about the LINK but didn’t consider it at the time. We most definitely will next time we are in Seattle. We really appreciate your support @edviaira6891!

    hi , how often was the return shuttle ride? did you have enough time to do nugget falls and the glacier? we went there a few months ago but they gave us only an hour. we would like to stay longer on our next cruise in May 2023. how much did you pay for the Glacier Exoress? did you book them ahead?

    • @richardfamilyproductions
      @richardfamilyproductions Год назад

      Hey Kathy, thanks for your questions! If I remember correctly the shuttle ran twice every hour. So you could board every 30 minutes. We had plenty of time in Juneau. I believe we were in port for around 5 hours. We did not book the shuttle ahead of time. We just walked up to one of the booths that are located right off the port. Definitely a tourist trap but it got us to the Mendenhall Glacier for around $90 total. While it was the most expensive bus ride of our lives it was money well spent! We hope you enjoy your cruise in May 2023! It will be here before you know it.
