I owned a new 1973 Avenger GT 1500cc (two door). The build quality was the very worst I have ever known before or since. However, once out of warranty I sorted it. The performance was improved with Dellorto twin 40's, competition exhaust, electronic ignition, some head work etc. 175 x 13" types replaced the std 155's. It revved to 7500 with ease and reputedly to 8000 in standard bottom-end form. Traction and road holding were excellent.

My 1.6 DL never went like that🤣

Hi, Firstly a big thanks to classic garage new zealand for creating these fantastic videos which will be very much appreciated by everyone. Penguinracer The Hq was originally owned and built by Dave Samson as a 6 cly HQ raceacar. It now has a more comprehensive roll cage and is running a crate ls3 with a 750 cfm holley carb, approx 600hp, gear box is a tremec tkx 5 spd and diff is commodore lsd, cheers David Berry.

It would be great to know a bit about the spec of Dave's car.
