Some disheartening news. I have another infection.
I have some disheartening news to share. I have another infection. This time in my jawbone and root canal, and sadly my insurance won’t cover any of the procedure I need this week to hopefully fix it. Similar to what I experienced with my ultra-rare osteomyelitis case, I have an abscess inside my upper left jawbone area as the bone dies due to the infection. The longer I wait to operate, the worse it will get, so this operation is urgent and necessary to preserve my bone, face, and mouth.
This is incredibly frustrating as I’ve been working hard to try and rebuild a lot of my life over the past year after all the traumatic experiences I’ve had with my health and otherwise. We’re hoping the ...

My Thoughts 6 Months Post-Surgery
Просмотров 2252 года назад
Six months. Half a year. It seems like an eternity, yet also like it was yesterday. The fateful day, July 23, 2021, at 5:30am when I walked into Advocate Masonic Hospital in Chicago to report for my life-saving osteomyelitis surgery. Nothing could have prepared me for the journey that was to come. This journey has been, and still is, a massive test… of strength, resilience, character, compassio...

Sharing a big update today, and I'm in need of all the positive vibes you got. I visited my surgeon two days ago to discuss my recovery, the increased pain I've been having, and more. He cauterized my wound again since it is healing weird and slowly in the center. Then we discussed my pain and mobility. Over the past 2 months I've been having increasing pain in and around my wound (where the bo...

Help Me Win My Fight Against a Very Rare & Severe Bone Infection
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.3 года назад
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you all that I have a rare and severe bone infection called osteomyelitis in and around my right SC joint. What I know as of right now, is that it has formed 4 abscesses. Three of these are very large and around the size of a golf ball (the largest one is inside my chest cavity), and all of them are rapidly growing as my bone and tissues continue to die. I...

I just saw your initial (?) post on Facebook and am of course concerned about your struggle, your recovery, your heart and source of support. Do you have family and friends to be THERE with you? I am far away, but wishing I could be one of those people to listen to you, share the burden (somehow) and perhaps even give you moments of humor and inspiration. So many battle illnesses and other struggles...I'd hate to think yours was a solo path. I wish ALL THE VERY BEST FOR YOU in whatever comes. You're a courageous man with a powerful drive and a sharp view of success. I send you a virtual hug and if I can do anything - even at this distance - let me know.
I'm worry about him now..... How's he going 😔
Love you Eric. You are a survivor.. We pray for you to be a thriver in the future.

You’re looking great Eric. Really healthy and bright…and as handsome as ever. Keep going with your recovery. 😀
So good to see your beautiful face again, and I'm so proud of you for going through this each day. I just wanted to give you another big hug as I watched the video, and I wish I could take it all away. But like you said, you WON'T give up--everyone who knows you knows that, including you. I laughed when you called your wound vac bag "Miss Sucky"; humor is great medicine :-) Love you lots, friend. Just this.
No one would blame you for railing about your illness and its impact on you, but yet you articulate nothing but gratitude to others. You really are an inspiration, Eric. Best wishes from Ireland, Stefan
God will see you through

Thank you so much. That truly means a lot to me.
awesome story man, thanks for sharing, so happy things worked out for you
Thanks, Bradford.
It is amazing that in my whole life I have never known anyone who is gay. As an asexual it's totally different as nobody really sees asexuals as a threat.
God bless you, sweet man. It would be so easy to label you as a "gay football player", but that would be wrong. You are quite simply a kind, caring and thoughtful man who played football in college. You are a true inspiration. I will be sharing this video. Thank you.
Thanks, Gregg. That means a lot to me.
Really enjoyed hearing your story. Glad you shared.
+John Brown Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
