I really don’t think either trilogy is better. My personal preference is to the prequels as they’re what i grew up with and I find the politics and worldbuilding of their era more interesting but they are both equally good with their own merits. The OT as a classic adventure following the heros journey and showcasing proper heroism. And the PT offering a more nuanced story of the tragic fall of what was supposed to be a savior figure. All of the first 6 movies are George Lucas’ vision and while there are certainly some flaws I think it all comes together beautifully and are better films than most blockbusters released in the last 50 years.

What the prequels did well is setting the background for the originals while telling a different story at the same time. They could be better executed but George Lucas' boldness is to be praised in this regard.

I grew up with the prequels, and even I don't like them. But The Lord of the Rings came out around the same time, and those movies are infinitely better then these poorly made movies.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. As someone from a Chinese background, I noticed that a lot of Chinese harmonises Confucism, Taoism and Buddhism into a complete system. They are considered the Three Sages who provides the Three Teachings. Confucism focus on social ethics; Taoism is seen as the way or the way of the heaven/divine; and Buddhism is seen as the highest level where one transcend Samsara all together (the six realms also include temporary state of heaven). Another interesting thing is that Zen/Chan also have the idea of chi/prana although it is not discussed as much. If one sits in Full Lotus meditation position, it is considered to perfectly circulate your chi. This perfect circulation of chi/prana helps one enter a state of Samadhi in preparation for realising awakening. So in a sense the Full Lotus Position is seen as sufficient for chi circulation. Other physical chi/prana exercises are seen as supplementary practice such as the yoga/qigong exercises as taught by Bodhidharma (first Patriach of Zen/Chan in China). In traditional Zen/Chan meditation session, walking meditation is also an integral practice to help blood and chi circulation. So there is definitely a physical health aspect although not common knowledge. But yeah, love your analysis. Wishing you peace and happiness 🙏🏻
