    I was thinking about freezing my fresh flowers similar to how you press flowers, without the intention of letting them dry; what are you thoughts on my approach? I sandwiched between an open book with three layers of parchment on each side and a layer of wet paper towel on top of that, then the flowers. Then I close the book. Will this preserve them “fresh” well? Thanks!

    • @sparkbirdstudios
      @sparkbirdstudios 3 дня назад

      Hmm. I'm not really sure if that method would work. Are you trying to get the flowers frozen and flat? Is that the reason for the book?

    • @sarahpaty6108
      @sarahpaty6108 2 дня назад

      @@sparkbirdstudios my goal is to preserve them staying fresh instead of drying out, and also to flatten them. I open a book, cover each side with three layer of parchment and a damp paper towel on top. Then I put the flowers over one of the paper towels and close the book. I also duck taped the book shut, and am not considering wrapping in plastic wrap so it doesn’t dry out. Then place in the freezer. Before, I would just sandwich maple leaves between two pieces of damp paper towel and then roll them up, put in a zip lock bag, and put in the fridge. Months later, the leaves would look great and worked for ecoprinting. I’m using a book this time because I have flowers and they aren’t as flat. The parchment paper is so the book pages don’t get ruined.

    Thank you very much for for sharing the magnet label idea. I recently re-purposed a metal rolling toolbox so I’d have room for storing paper and other things.. The drawers are still labeled for my jewelry business with stick on labels. I’ve been putting off changing the labels because it will be a pain getting the old labels off. But now I won’t have to I can just magnet a label on top of that. You had. such a wonderful idea! I may also steal the idea of painting your rolling plastic carts. I’ve got bunches of those.
