In 2023 and 2024 Topps flagship baseball, there's an insert called "Heavy Lumber" that's a card made out of wood and looks relatively similar to Mike's card. But it would be nice to see card companies try to make cards of out something new/different instead of just reusing ideas.

Nice cards guys. I always appreciate when an insert set has different backgrounds, such as the skylines, not just every player image dropped on the same background. At least change up the pattern.

The prevalence of greed in today's sports card world is nauseating. I'm no longer in card-acquisition mode and I'm usually looking to sell cards that I acquired in the last 30 years. When I do sell cards I'm not looking to wring every last dime out of the sale. DA Card World has acquired quite a reputation in recent years for shamelessly sticking it to the little guy.

Regarding Marvel, solution is simple, educate consumers so they don’t buy something when they rise prices. But people are dumb and overspend. If they raise their prices and no one bought it, they’d have to lower it again. Same with eBay, dumb people paying more than D&A and Steel City.

I just did a rip of Topps Composite Football. I do like the cards, but the cost is way too high without the license. I really wanted to see the quality of the Fanatics Topps... not much better than Panini.🤔🤔🤔

My favorite "fake cards" are the Joe Montana and Walter Payton rookie cards.

Ok living in Tennessee i'll be the NASCAR guy & clear up Jordans team for you, Jordan actually loves NASCAR, I've watched lots of interviews of him talking about being a big fan since he was playing at NC...all NASCAR teans are based out of NC...& he's at the races with his team a lot. Shannon Sharpe is also a huge fan and talks about it on his podcast... I hated it as a kid but went through a phase where I loved it in my 20s...I stood in line 8 hours to meet Dale Earnhardt Sr. once... But after he was killed I lost interest in the sport and don't really watch it anymore

Oh god, Mike, That's not a way to start the day with that image 🤣. It's awesome that someone pulled that Piazza autograph. I'll buy some of the topps football just because I collect topps football cards. I prefer licensed cards but remember buying topps football when they didn't have the license. That's ridiculous to have that much of a difference between the two companies. I wouldn't be able to keep a card of that value. I'd rather see stinker boxes then ones full of hits as it's more realistic lof what you are likely to actually get.

15:43 I agree with you on price “management”. Isn’t that illegal? IMO the hobby is ignored when it comes to protecting consumers.

I'm not in the market for hobby at the moment, but curious if you think the retail blasters would be worth having some fun opening?

Really nice looking cards EP. I really like the wolverine hologram. Hopefully they come back with the grades you want. I keep hearing about that trick for grading. It's always worth a try.
