Thank you for putting this together Rodney! I'm presently building my tilt array based on this setup for my large 530W panel 14 panel array in South Carolina! Upgraded to longer/larger bolts and the 6x6 posts. Appreciate you putting all of this together! With the current cost of wood (and larger wood due to my sized panels), larger hardware and such it's ~$1500, but it's still quite a bit cheaper than a commercial array. I got a quote, the cost of the system (minus concrete) was $2800, BUT they wanted $2500 shipping?!? Nope!

I dont think theres a way to really cut costs any more than what you have going on here! Only concern I would have is snow load in Michigan. That said it wouldnt be too much more to add a few more 4x4 posts as needed or adjust the angle to be a bit steeper. Any chance you had those calculations? I ended up going with some unused panels that were from storage a few years back and made a 16.8KW system. ($6375.39 for 48 panels shipped to my door or $0.422 per watt) Went with 2x 7.7KW Sunny Boys to invert as the were the most cost effective option at the time. I mounted to my roof so the hardware was pretty affordable by comparison, just Unistrut and some locking connectors. I think all in it was about $13k 2 years ago? Shared just to see if your numbers were around the same ballpark. Shoot the DIY savings itself is crazy compared to the 65K I was quoted for that install.

Hello good day I need help with something. I added 8 Solar panels each being 400 watts and then the inverter only shows 270 volts and 75 watts coming in can you explain how to fix this issue

I think this Bi-facial panels should not be installed on roof sheets. Back side Reflection generation works with direct installation on structure.

Looks great. You should triple 2x6 or 2x8 the beams so they can carry a snow load. Its so short of a cross span that double may work though.

What tool are you using to remove the mc4 connectors on that? The MC4 disconnection tools I have do not fit and I have the 300 w version of the same panels

One thing to think about, a lot of these portable inverters that have terminal strips on them have started to have pretty terrible covers on the terminals that simply do not meet the requirement of preventing accidental contact with the terminals.

would have been nice to hook up two batteries to see what it was able to run wide open

Hey. I am still quite a newbie in the solar systems. I have a triangle roof where one side of 4 panels faces the sun in the morning, while the other 4 on the other side remain in a shadow quite consistently. Both are wired in series. My MPPT controller is not receiving amps at all to charge batteries, I get 0.4 amps. I believe shadows might be causing these problems. Would love to hear your opinion. I got Canadian solars 440w. Thanks.

I have a specific question regarding the compatibility of your products. I currently have a 200Ah battery connected to an EG4 6000XP inverter. Additionally, I have an older LV6548 inverter stored in my garage. Instead of purchasing an EG4 Chargerverter, I’m wondering if it’s feasible to utilize the LV6548 inverter to Connect a 1500W PV string and Source power from the grid to Charge the 200Ah battery that is already connected to the EG4 6000XP inverter. I would greatly appreciate any insights or guidance you can provide on this matter.

That inverter had fault code 58 as you were filming. What was the reason for it?

So if it backfeeds the main panel through the 70amp breaker as the grid power for the inverter, won’t it back feed the grid in an outage? Or is it smart enough to not supply power back through the grid um input during an outage?

Are there specs as to what you are supposed to use for the grid feed? Is it 70amp max?
