    Once we know about the teacher where they are going - it makes more sense. I think that he means that 'being' in wrong Love 'blocks' the Trauma from surfacing (therefore making maybe not the right decision and being aware of our Trauma would help to understand love correctly. There is LOTS of misconception about Love that is to be agreed for sure.

    For me, this is not working. I need(ed) validation for what has happened to me. I need to mourn the loss of my childhood and the bond with my brother. I've been ashamed of the abuse I endured always, and that has stopped me from finding help. In order to heal myself, I definitely need to look at my past. 'Fierce compassion' sounds like 'tough love' to me. And no matter how much Dr Maté is advocating against a doctor-patient relationship that is not equal, his method is precisely that.

    • @vicj9256
      @vicj9256 6 месяцев назад

      I feel the fierce compassion to be more about my own intention to not worry about what the other person thinks or feels, or that if they approve of me, or if they will abandon me if they don't like what I say (my own trauma reverberations), but to instead not give up on communicating what I see. Effective, life-affirming communication requires skill and would not happen with power differentials.

    • @ScottCousland
      @ScottCousland 6 месяцев назад

      @carmenl163 “fierce compassion” can definitely be mis-used. Speaking the truth to somebody, who needs to not hear it, isn’t compassion. Compassion understands that healing requires feeling safe. Gabor refers to this when @4:16 he quotes A.H. Almaas - “Only when compassion is present, will people allow themselves to see the truth.” Severely traumatized people often first need to be heard, to have a therapist repeat back what they heard, so their client can validate that the therapist understands what the client has said. “Fierce compassion” is only effective after enough trust has been created between client and therapist.

    And yet, you have no compassion for the Jewish People. Why? Could your support for savage terrorists be a reflection of your own lack of healing? Your experience was horrific as a child, but please do the work, because you are distorting people’s minds and understanding of what is happening in Israel and Gaza.

You people brainwash others tnto believeing there's something wrong. And you keep them coming back again and again draining their bank accounts. And you know what the end result is. Absolutely nothing. They're the same person as they were 1-2-3 years maybe more that when they started maybe worse. And they're broke.

    Is it just me or are others a little irritated by Dr Field's inability to match Gabor's patient, systemic, whole-of-person approach, with Dr Fields giving a sense of urgency, a drive to "get to the point", seeking affirmation that psychedlics are an answer if not the answer? IMHO this interview/discussion didn't illicit the best from Gabor, who was constantly having to moderate the line of questioning.

    Thanks Dr. Gabor very much. I hope, I'll find my way to heal myself. I am from Ukraine, 32 y.o. man. Working at pharmaceutical company as brand manager. Successful person - at first glance. But I'm addicted from a row of drug as nalbuphine, baclofen, and modafinil for 3-8 years... I destroy myself gradually, and I can't find exit, can't cope with this issue. I'm frustrating. Because of my illness I do not fight against the Russian invaders, although I could be an effective defender of my homeland. I really love Ukraine, my native land. instead, I splurged on my life. Few years ago I saw Dr. Gabor's video on Ted talks. It impressed me , and I hope that finally I overcome all my disorders. The substance allowed me to re-experience the terrible things that happened to me without the judgement of a clinician. My case was particularly horrible, and many professionals don’t handle the story well. In a profession which still manages to keep certain subjects taboo, a trip by oneself may be the best thing.

      I just did a very high dose on Monday and I was alone . Dr Gabor inspired me back In 2019 to try mushrooms as I knew I needed deep healing . I did them alone . I was taken a million places and I was OK ALONE . However, this recent trip I did ( haven't done them since 2019 ) was very very different. It was DARK and I really needed to be w someone . I aksed for the truth and let me tell you, I got the truth . There is so much still to heal however I got validation on my childhood sexual abuse . I recorded it . Unfortunately at some point it stopped recording but I got about 45 min. Tried listening to it yesterday for 1st x since doing the trip Monday but I immediately freaked out and started balling . I plan on working with a shaman and doing more . I have a shaman calling me tmrw . I really want and need the support for my next journey as I know more dark truths will be revealed that I need revealed in order to really heal and move forward. ❤ I did 3 or 4 G , can't even remember. Think it was 3 which is the heroic dose .

    Only the authentic self can truly love and be loved. When he talks about giving up authenticity for attachment, i think he may have missed the point? True attachement cannot happen without the whole authentic self. A contrived, incomplete, fragmented self is not present for loving attachment to self and others.

    • @ScottCousland
      @ScottCousland 6 месяцев назад

      @louisemcdougall9389 I think you are using a different definition of “attachment” than is used in psychology…and so you are misunderstanding his point. Attachment in psychology is simply the creation and maintenance of the bond between infant and caretaker that results in enough of the infants needs being met, that the infant survives.

    Be care-full because psychedelics can also be harmfull when you take them, depending on proffesional guidence, dose, sensitivity. For example; magic mushrooms also carry fungus and this can tilt balance in your intestinal tract. If you have burn-out / high stress I would not take it untill you lowered your overall stress levels. You need not to be in high depression. Always consult a proffesional and/or experienced guide.
