TRUCK BUILD: How to Wire an ARB Twin Compressor. Want to know how to wire an ARB Twin Compressor in the engine compartment of your truck? This video is for you. I installed the ARB compressor in the engine compartment of my 2017 Toyota Tacoma Off Road. The compressor comes with a wiring harness and ARB rocker switch. Nice video, thanks for sharing! As a resident of the Green Ridge SF area I can tell you this. Fifteen Mile Creek comes up and goes down fast after decent rainfalls. Sideling Hill Creek does the same but not quite as quick Fifteen Mile. Town Creek however, has a LOT of tributaries that feed it and it has a pretty big drainage/watershed area. So it's fed pretty well, as evidence by how high and muddy it was.

I took Oldtown Orleans Rd SE from RT 68 down to RT 51, followed that west towards Lower Town Creek Road which I followed all the way back to Flintstone. I have a lifted subaru outback and it comfortably rode through the water. Hope to go back again!

    Do you have any pics of the brackets you fabricated? I’m going to be mounting my shower enclosure to my road shower as well. Thank you

    • @thetacodog
      @thetacodog 2 года назад

      Can’t add a pic to this thread but I used C-channel steel about 1 1/2” wide and 4 inches long for the bracket. The road shower has a T-Slot. The shower enclosure has two T-Slots. I drilled 3 holes in the bracket, 2 aligning with the shower enclosure T-Slots, and 1 in the center, all mid-line in the bracket. I mounted the closed end (back) of the bracket to the road shower tank FIRST, using a short carriage bolt, a thick nylon washer spacer, and 2 stainless steel washers to push the bracket out from the tank using the T-Slot. The nut tightens inside the bracket channel and pulls to the tank. I then did the same with the shower enclosure, going in the opposite direction, with carriage bolts coming from the T-Slots, going through the bracket, with the nuts tightening on the back of the bracket facing the tank, between the bracket and tank, pulling to the shower enclosure. When done, the shower enclosure bolts are top and bottom, the tank bolt center, in opposite directions. You need the nylon washer for offset to clear the shower enclosure nuts between the bracket and tank. Hope this helps.

    Just for those who are still confused by the exhaust systems The oem is really good vs any exhaust systems which is just for sound unless you remove the Catts which is when you actually gain the most hp/tq My comment is based on dyno numbers and money spent, I remember when I started buying everything that claimed more hp/tq . For example, bought a $350 K&N cold air intake, gained 1hp on the dyno , total of 8hp after running but lost 2 mpg so instead of 18mpg , my truck was getting 16mpg in the highway, was it worth it? No but since I couldn’t return the CAÍ y kept it just for the sound. Only thing that really works in any vehicle, it’s the tuning. Exhaust systems, CAi are for modded engines that need more air and better exhaust flow but again it just my personal opinion on my dyno numbers from GM 5.3-6.0-6.2 v8 from stock to modded engine.

    Did you see a improvement in MPG? What size tires do you have?

    • @thetacodog
      @thetacodog 2 года назад

      No, once I added the tune, MPG dropped, but it was at the same time I did major mods adding a bunch of weight and air resistance. Before all my mods, I was close to 20 MPG on the road (unloaded) and 17 MPG loaded (265-70-R16 Goodyears). After my mods I’m at 15 MPG (unloaded) and 12 MPG loaded (265-75-R16 Toyo MTs). Tire weight and type really changed mileage. This truck is not a daily driver, and I only use it for trips

    I just got tuned on kdmaxx newest version. This is exactly what I am experiencing. I can cruise all day long 5th 6th with cruise control OFF. With cruise control ON the truck wants to go into 4th instead of giving it more throttle in 5th gear like it does with cc OFF.

    • @thetacodog
      @thetacodog 2 года назад

      Yep, as others have mentioned, it’s likely the ECU has a CC map that functions separately and is not changed by the tune. I found that a simple tap on the throttle will result in upshift to 5th gear

    My setup: 2020 TRD Pro AT. 33” tires, rock sliders, full skid plates, Diamondback bed cover, etc. had gear hunting issues and random dead pedal. When I Tuned with KDMax 6.0, dead pedal was eliminated. Gear hunting was reduced abt 50%. Then I re-geared with 4.88:1 gears. Gear hunting is now eliminated. As noted in the video, when an AT Tacoma does shift to 4th in CC, it will hold 4th for more time than seems necessary. Great tip to tap the accelerator. My current set up has me smiling.” FWIW.

      I have a 2020 Tacoma and I'm looking at a KD Max tune or regearing to 488 or 529. I have a Westcott lift and I'm running 285 75 16 wildpeak at3w. Do you think that regearing your truck to 4.88 would have eliminated your issues without the KD Max tune? Thanks in advance!

    • @stealthyleopard5805
      @stealthyleopard5805 2 года назад

      @@robbell8507 the rehear to 4.88 solved the remaining issues my Tacoma had. Like I said, the tune solved the dead pedal and ~ 50% of the gear hunting issues. Unless you are running a lot of extra weight, the 4.88 set up should do well with your tire size. I’ll go back to my tuner for a retune for the different gear and the new update to the KDMax. The tune is a lot less than gearing. Maybe give it a shot and see if it solves the problem.
