Godzilla Minus One ocean build!
Просмотров 8984 месяца назад
I last minute quick turnaround build of my favorite scene from the recent Godzilla Minus One from, an angry Godzilla chasing a fishing boat with the main characters! I purchased the Godzilla figure from David Hodge, he can be reached at this email: panthera@twc.com The fishing boat was a basic tugboat file from CGTrader that I printed then modified with styrene sheet and strip and added figures...

Quite a lot of 3D printing for the diorama accessories and the figures of Mando, Peli Motto and the droids, with a surprise cameo from some furry locals!

A lot of modifying and scratch-building as I complete the main ship structure. Various paints and techniques used to get a grungy, beat up look.

2024 Total Solar eclipse Muncie Indiana!

I captured the end of the total eclipse, my camera wouldn’t focus enough on the dark center, looks like a dot. The flash at the beginning of the video is just when the sun starts peeking through, the end of the video it grows in intensity as the total eclipse ends.

In this part I build the desert diorama that the ship will be flying over. Because the ship is 18” long the base will be smaller than it.

X-Plus Revenge of the Creature part 1!
Does anyone know if the new Elegoo Jupiter SE LED screens work with the old Jupiter design? I have found in the past with a different printer from Peopoly that they change the cables...
thank you i enjoyed watching that
Do you sale both Mando and Grogu? If so how much would they be
Too much talky talky not enough painty painty
Looking fantastic, Ken. Great addition with the backdrop from Oggie as well.
Very nice review! And great overall content. Subbed!
This is one of my favorite models from back in the day, but it wasn't because the kit was impressive, I just loved the shape of the ship and the 2001 film. Happy that they're making it again in 3 sizes!
Great work on this model Ken. It's going to look amazing when done. Also thanks for inviting me on your channel. It's true pleasure to collaborate with you and am looking forward to the completed project.
Thanks Oggie!
It's looking great Ken. I love the 2001 poster
Great progress Ken. If you ever need to transfer angles to timber in future then try a sliding bevel....you can lock it to a set angle using the protractor then use it to mark the angles
Great to see the build coming along Ken, and great to see Oggie, and another one of his backdrop paintings. Awesome jobs guys.
This is going to be a Spectacular build and You picked the right Guy to paint that Backdrop. Oggie Nailed it. Hope you take it to Wonderfest Ken.
Looking great Ken. Can't wait to see it in the finale.
Top notch. That is really coming along. That painting is going to put this build over the top. Thanks for sharing it with us.
what would it cost to 3d print me a mandalorian for my starfighter along with grogu, shipped to alabama 36322
The printing and resin isn’t very much, with USPS Priority shipping it would be $12. Send me a message on FB messenger under Ken Spriggs.
Looking great but what happened to the build? It's been 3 years : (
Ken you are astronomical! amazing videos
Thank you!
Hey Ken, super fun build. Where do you get the LED light strip?
Yes, correct, there are parts of the scaffolding partitions that have no rails. So the model is more or less in line with the actual prop. On the record cover and poster, the scaffolding is very red. On the film is more brown. The red is the one that pops .. to my eye anyway.
Looking Great Ken, I like the approach to painting the construction frames after they are glued , much neater finish .
Great video Ken. Those outer girder pieces you cut off. I left mine and then was unable to close the sides of the completed sections. In the end I cut mine off too. I think there is an error in the kit.
Huge fan here of your work ! Super inspiring!!!
Just tuned in!!!
Hey, ken.... Long time watcher. first time poster.... I have a problem with your seeing of what's on the screen.... In your first shot of the station, Earth is on the right of the screen, station is rotating clockwise.... then a shot the Earth on the left.... station rotating counter-clockwise. Just a matter of perspective and I'm pretty sure the guys who put this together knew what they were doing.
I hadn’t noticed that the Earth switches from the right side to the left. It appears they reversed the footage which would change the rotation direction. It’s not just perspective because I’m always viewing the rotation direction from the perspective of the front or complete side of the station. Since it’s a ring there is no up down, etc. I don’t think any of these are mistakes, Kubrick deliberately changed the direction several times, including inside of the station which is a completely different effects shot.
@@kenspriggs5687 Ahh, I see what you mean... It does look like there is some reverse footage there, if you go by the completed ring..... Interesting. Maybe the guys decided to save some money on film by doing this. 70mm film was not cheap even by today standards. It's been over 30 years since I read the book, but what orbit was this station in? Would make a big difference on which direction the clipper came in. Standard orbit, or geo-stationary orbit. Thanks, Ken..... Looking forward to what this will look like. Oh, by the way... Say hello to your kitty for me.. : } I have one of my own.
I don't know how I could have missed this Video 2 months ago , Congratulations on the 2 Bronze Awards Ken . The Display Cases are Fantastic .
I think your idea about the space clipper, posed like the poster, is awesome.
Just use a real chain.
Ah well...like my Dad used to always say, "It'll either work or it won't" lol....I really like what you came up with for the contrail!
Wow!
Ken if you had used a clear tube instead of the brass? Wouldn’t be much easier to lighten and made the exhaust effect much better? Well? I get now why you didn’t… you had or could use a clear ROD! It’s much more harder and won’t wiggle that easily and you had could light it from the station side and the ROD would glow… the brass tube you had could give a clear coat and that makes it insulated towards the LED SMD’S… but yeah! You are doing a great job anyways!👍
Looking really good! Thanks for sharing the process. Including those that didn’t quite work out. 👍😎
lookn great Ken....great work as always
Thanks Oggie!
Whenever I see Panam decals I think of "Catch Me If You Can".
Wow, the contrail looks great!
Ken you never do anything half way , just having the Idea to light the ORION, attempting to do so , VERY IMPRESSIVE.
Looking good. Lots of masking, wow. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
That hi-res TV makes the ships look 3D. I love what a busy place Ken's living room is. Tools, Cats, models...
Dang
What a fun build great job too!
So great
❤so great
Awesome job designing the rotational mechanism Ken! Can't wait to see how this turns out.
Looks great Ken. It sure was a lot of work for that lighting.
Really nice job Ken, looking forward to seeing more. This always is a fun model to watch being built.
Great looking pod interior Ken!
Slick and Clean Ken , This is the best Pod Interior I've seen .
Absolutely breathtaking. SO grateful, Ken!
Cool . Inside is important to the look.
👍👍
Hey Ken, thanks so much for this build part 1! Especially the engineering solutions for rotating the model. And thanks so much for the links to these components, which solves the engineering challenges that I was looking for from my perspective. I can’t wait to see the follow up build videos!👍👍
