Explain By Example: Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
Learn what object oriented programming (OOP) is with a flower analogy. I might have used more than a flower analogy but oh well.
I also lost my drawing pen for a bit, can you catch the moments I had to draw with my finger instead? It inspired me to create a TikTok account actually. The drawing is terrible but you can comment on it yourself at tiktok.com/@explainbyexample.
Sorry it took so long to make another video, going through a break up right now which means I should have plenty of time to make more RUclips videos from now on. Ha, the irony. Anyway, enjoy.

Explain By Example: VPN Gateway or ExpressRoute
Просмотров 8 тыс.2 года назад
TL;DR: This video explains what Azure VPN Gateway and Azure ExpressRoute is... ...in a really weird way. It mentions a guy called Frank a lot. He's pretty famous. He used to be infamous. There was even a movie made about him starring Leonardo DiCaprio. But he still didn't win an Oscar for that movie though. Boo. I wrote the blog version of this over a year ago so the content might be slightly o...
Explain By Example: Deep Learning
Просмотров 5122 года назад
Yeah G'day, does anyone actually read these video descriptions these days? Or even read at all? If you do like to read, please check out my full blog at www.medium.com/@michelle.xie. Otherwise feel free to listen and watch along as I take you through deep learning using my overweight baggage experience at the airport when I travelled home during the pandemic last year. Sorry this one took so lo...
What is Explain By Example?
Просмотров 1 тыс.2 года назад
Hi RUclips, Explain By Example started off as a written blog in November of 2019. Mainly out of boredom. You can follow it on Medium at medium.com/@michelle.xie. After many requests (a total of TWO overwhelming request) the blog has been adapted for RUclips. Don't forget to like (or dislike), subscribe to the channel for more content and comment to leave your feedback behind. Lots of love, - Th...
Explain By Example: OLTP vs OLAP
Просмотров 54 тыс.2 года назад
TL;DR: Watch OLTP vs OLAP explained using a simple school analogy. I had so much fun making the first video that I decided to start on the second one shortly after. If you have read the actual blog post for this topic which is on OLTP vs. OLAP, you would notice that at the end I mention a section that describes the difference between normalisation vs. denormalisation. I originally planned to in...
Explain By Example: Event Grid
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.2 года назад
TL;DR: Watch Azure Event Grid explained using a simple company analogy. The first video in the series...Explain By Example. I like nostalgic moments, even though I'm pretty sure no one cares about Azure Event Grid, this will be the first ever ExByEx video to attribute it to the fact that this was the very first blog post that helped me create something out of nothing. Azure Event Grid is an eve...

I’m stuck very confused. Is the only difference where they search for the data? Do one from a database with current quick information and the other a data warehouse with more in depth and broadly sought after reasoning for the answer?

OLTP is at the transaction grain. Is primarily used for applications and operations. OLAP is analytic and is aggregated for creating analytical reporting such as KPI or metric dashboards so is at a categorical level. OLTP DB might say these are all the transactions from this store and have a row for each sale. An OLAP Data-warehouse would say last month we sold X number of this product. It might only have a row for each products monthly total.

Phenom video! Incredibly well done and explained a lot of concepts I've been trying to learn for a while. Many teachers in software dev are jaded and fail to simplify their explanations about simplification. This, and the video I found you through explaining OLTP and OLAP, were pivotal in understanding more about the career I'm trying to get into. Best of luck! Please keep posting more and I'll be coming back for more 😁
