NORTH LAKE in Federal Way WA
Today we went out for a little fun chasing Bass. Caught a few small ones and a few mid size Bass. Definetly had a blast out there. Great lake for small vessel. We were catching em on Texas rig and drop shot. Using a Berkley Pit Boss Plastic ( craw imitation) lure on my Texas rig and a Mann's TRD soft Plastic worm on my Drop Shot...###bassfishing###FUN###

Fishing Clear Lake In Eatoville in the afternoon for about 2 hrs. We caught limits of Trout but cant seem to get the Kokanee to bite if there's any...lol. Too many wake boats and Jets ski so did not stay long to fish hard for Yellow Perch or even try. Had a great time reguardless. A Day on the water is always enjoyable.

FISRT TIME FISHING THIS BEAUTIFUL LAKE. WE CAUGHT ALOT OF FISH, TROUT AND KOKANEE. WHAT WE USE TO CATCH EM TROLLING WAS A ROCKY MOUNTAIN SIGNITURE SERIES DODGER WITH A MICRO HOOTCHIE TIPPING IT WIT A GREEN BERKLEY GULP MAGOT. DROPPING OUR LINE DOWN 25-35 FT WITH A SPEED OF 1.4 TO 1.6 MPH.

Had a great time Kokanee fishing at my favorite lake for 16 to 18 inchers. Caught a few trout at the same time. Trolling with 2 0z weight and with 4inch Dodgers and micro hootchie down at 30 ft catching really nice Kokes. Tip the hootchie off with GREEN Berkley Gulp Magot. Awesome Day!!! 1 shy of limit but it's Okay... wapatolake chelan kokaneefishing

Fishing with friends on the Columbia in Umatilla down from McNerry Dam for American shads. We are using Dick Kight lures. Had a Blast as usual.Very easy fishing,very FUN!!!anyone can definitly do this even without a boat.

Another Amazing Day fishing for SHAD at Bonneville Dam. Highly recommend for those who haven't tried. Super FUN!!! Go and get you some. Make sure to bring alot of 3/4 and 1 oz weights plus Shad darts. 30 to 50 of each...

In this video we are going to fish for shad in Bonneville Dam. Having fun with friends and experiencing new type of fishing. Using just shad dart jigs to catch em. Lost alot of weights and shad Dart before we finally figure how to fish for em efficiently and in the end catches alot of shad. Fun day of fishing for sure. Will do againin the near future.

the kokanee in this lake bites really well on the southeast part of the lake, there's a spring there. you can troll around that corner there, or just cast out. They bite like crazy over there.

Any lakes on the west side that you've had success with kokes at? Ive been to clear a million times (almost certain there is no kokes in there) American has been super slow. Any place you'd recommend? Had a few in Alder, but it was too low to launch last I saw. Thank you!
@daltonstetz6809 Summit Lake in west Olympia is probably best for kokes..you will have to go through a bunch of trout before you get kokes. Great lake for sure but size of kokes is typical 12 inches at best. Lake Meridian in Kent is another good Lake for kokes. Hope that help my friend.
Was here a month ago, wind starter getting dangerous and almost didn't make it back to the launch...it was wild, probably the most scared I've been kayak fishing on a lake with the wind and waves. Got there at 7am...then about 9am the wind went from 0-20mph in no time.
@ninjarider84 oh wow that's crazy. I am glad you made it out safely. I was having trouble with recreational boats running to close to my kayak but not so much with wind and such. Especially in American lake, I had a wake boat that was flying 10 ft away from me. Almost capsize me and the boat operator just look at me and didn't seem to care at all.
Hope that help and your trolling speed matters just as much as your presentation any wear form 1.5-1.7 mph tops hope that helps
Spring time there in the top 20ft water column summer any wear from 40 to 70 ft deep are a cold water fish so as water warms the deeper they go as summer goes on

Dude! Great watch! Glad you were able to retrieve your rod! It was fun to watch you get it back and was cool to see you still hooked the fish. I fish there as well mid September just trolling cranks for crappie I’ll have to hit up in November like you and drop shot them like you did. Anyways tight lines!

I went to summit lake last week, where is the best place to put a kayak or a boat, I couldn’t find a boat ramp.

I’ve fished that lake a lot, and there are Kokanee in it. However I’ve never come away with more than one in a trip. Couple years ago I was there for the opener and there was a WDFW fish checker at the ramp surveying folks as they came off the lake. He hadn’t seen a single Kokanee come out all morning. Honestly I think it’s more poor management by WDFW. I think they’re over stocking trout. With all the trout being stocked as catchable size, and Kokanee being stocked as fry, the Kokanee don’t have a chance since the trout compete with them for food sources. You can chum that lake tho. So maybe chumming and jigging could be a more effective tactic.
@jessetharp6319 wow...yeah I don't think stocking the lake with fry will work. I'm sure they get eaten by the Bass,trout and yellow perch. Now it makes sense that I don't see any fish that resemble a kokanee at thermo cline. Thanks so much for sharing.

When you use bait I believe that every fish counts as part of your limit

Family has limited quickly 2hrs every time...they want worms and spinner action. The 14" preferred longer leaders and 50' to bottom on the scan. The 1st year fish hang out 25-45' just under the thermocline. We and the locals have never seen Kokanee as the Bass have eliminated the planters. Angle lake has a variety of age class Kokanee and trout but the ramp is hard on PDL carts and must beat the park folks for a close spot. Tight lines...

Those gulp maggots are considered bait, so each fish you caught counted toward your limit.

Thank you for the video. I've been wanting somebody to do a video on summit lake for Kokanee. I had fished summit Lake 3 times last Summer for Kokanee and did not catch any Kokanee. Of course, I was just learning how then. But it did discourage me to go back this year. There are only a three lakes in the area where I live that have Kokanee, summit Lake, Mason Lake and Lake Cushman and Kokanee lake which is the lower Lake of Lake Cushman. When I fished summit Lake all I caught was trout.

Why do soft shells give you a ticket? They don't anywhere else...they usually are thrown back due to be not being very meaty and not worth it.
@juliemanarin4127 I was at Tokeland crabbing and.someone there got a ticket for keeping a short shell crab. Ever since then I throw all soft shell back. I will ask a game warden officer if I see one about the soft shell crab for sure

I was using a lure I put togather. Spin Glow with beads and hooks. Tip it off with Berkley Gulp Magot. You can see the set up in the first few minutes of the video

Back when I lived in Philadelphia, I would buy filleted shad from the fish mongers at the Reading Terminal Market. The fish are crazy bony, but there is a pattern to the bone structure and the fish mongers knew how to separate the flesh from the bone. The flesh is delectable. Seems a waste to use them for crab bait.
True that's why I only use a few for crab bait.. I saw a video on how to filled the shad and I must say I'm impressed. Definitely will try to fillet them one day.

We were there last Sunday 6/09/2024 on the WA side, so windy and waves. Me and brother got total 35 shads. 7 hours round trip. 😢

I was using a 7 ft 3 light action rod by TPO with 12 lb mono. Carolina rig with a 1 Oz slip weight or cannon ball weight. Arm length of litter with a shad dart bare hooks. Cast out count 2 seconds and start reeling and keep line tight. You'll know when you got fish on....lol.

I got a taste of a very big bass this friday on Clear lake in Pierce County! While I was sitting with power bait to the bottom from trout I decide to practice bass fishing with a ned rig and 5 casts in I thought I was snagged but then it took off, tried getting my chest n mount on but the battery beeped dead and then the bass jumped and it was huge and spit my hook. I didn't have the proper hook for it so I used the biggest one I had which was still a little small! Going out again next week on my favorite lake Lake St. Clair and practice again. At least I can leave the trout alone since it's mainly stockers we are catching. i'm excited from that big ass bass! Got my heart pumping!!
