    Bit of a wobbly pitch change at the end. It almost sounds like the real deal only 30 times quieter, The real one can push roughly 128 dB at 20 yards.

      The wobbly sound is because I'm holding the horn and spinning it the same time sounding it.

      It works better at a higher tone It sounds neat at a low tone, which would give a lot of treble, but you don't feel the vibration. At a higher tone, I can feel vibration way more than I can feel it low. It's due to the horn bell curvature and size.

    How many tries to get this right?I’m figuring that there a lot of things to get right to get that tone and decibels. The diaphragm thickness and mass is a big factor. The material I know is 0.018” steel but what kind, mild steel, tempered? The small plate and spring weight and tension is going to control the rate at which the diaphragm will vibrate. The length and diameter of the trumpet tube will have to work in harmony with the diaphragm. If you got all this right on the first try it was an act of god and/or genius.

    • @BigHorndb188
      @BigHorndb188 14 дней назад

      It look awhile with trial and error. To make it easy, start with low tune. It works better at low pressure. The curvature of horn matters a lot.

      plastic vs. steel? My horn cannot be compared to heavy-duty commercial ship horn. The bell on mine is aluminum, and the power chamber is plastic with an aluminum diaphragm. The commercial ship horns are pure steel and very duty, being able to withstand extreme air pressure, extremely durable, being able to withstand harsh weather conditions. If I had a steel power chamber for my horn, I could add a thicker diaphragm, plus I could add way more tension, and I wouldn't have to worry about it exploding on me. My plastic power chamber could explode on me if I added too much tension to the diaphragm. Plastic is not made for high air pressure.

      I usually push the tube ⅛ to ³/16 inch over. Instead of the diaphragm being totally flat, it would be rising a little from the pressure of the tube. I had trim a little of the nozzle (tube) because it was sticking out a little far later after the video because it didn't work.

      @hulkgqnissanpatrol6121 26 дней назад

      The difference between **echo** and **reverberation** lies primarily in the nature of sound reflections and the environment in which they occur: ### **Echo** (in an open area): - **Definition**: An echo is a distinct, delayed repetition of a sound that occurs when sound waves reflect off a surface and travel back to the listener after a noticeable time gap (typically more than 0.1 seconds). - **Environment**: Commonly occurs in open areas with distant reflective surfaces, such as cliffs, mountains, or large buildings. - **Characteristics**: - The original sound and its reflection are clearly distinguishable. - The delay is due to the long distance the reflected sound travels before reaching the listener. - E.g., shouting in a canyon and hearing your voice repeated. ### **Reverberation** (in an enclosed area): - **Definition**: Reverberation is the persistence of sound caused by the reflection of sound waves within an enclosed or semi-enclosed space, resulting in a blending of the original sound and its reflections. - **Environment**: Occurs in enclosed or partially enclosed spaces like concert halls, rooms, or auditoriums with multiple reflective surfaces. - **Characteristics**: - The reflections occur in quick succession, typically within 0.1 seconds. - These reflections overlap and combine with the original sound, making them indistinguishable from each other. - Reverberation creates a sense of "fullness" or "depth" in the sound. - E.g., the lingering sound of clapping in a hall. ### Key Factors That Differentiate Echo and Reverberation: | **Aspect** | **Echo** | **Reverberation** | |----------------------|---------------------------------------|---------------------------------------| | **Time Delay** | Noticeable (>0.1 seconds) | Very short (<0.1 seconds) | | **Environment** | Open spaces with distant reflectors | Enclosed spaces with many reflectors | | **Perception** | Clear repetition of the sound | Blended, continuous sound | | **Distance** | Requires a significant distance | Occurs within shorter distances | Understanding these differences is crucial in fields such as acoustics, architecture, and sound engineering, where controlling sound reflections impacts the design of spaces and the quality of audio experiences.
