DiY - How I Removed The Wheel Locks Without it's Special Socket - one of the many ways to do it ...
Some time ago I worked with the Wheel Lock Socket (cleaned up the rear brakes) & I didn't find it anymore !!!
We had in front of us the vacation with some little excursions & I was a little anxious to go far without the possibility to take out the wheels in case of a flat tire ... beside that, I had to change the brakes too, rotors, pads and the brake fluid ...
So, I checked up on the internet and found the video you have the link below ...
ruclips.net/video/1fNij7hPVq8/видео.html
But I couldn't do it until I modified a regular 3/4" socket ...
🙏🏻 for watching !
God bless you !
Good roads to have, I wish you !

      Funny you mention that. I changed my oil twice and per Mazda it states (4.8 liters) 5.1 quarts with filter change. Both time 5 quarts only puts it 1/3 to 1/2 between the holes on dipstick. 5.5 quarts brings it to the top. BTW, I am using Mobil 1 5w-30 EP with a Mobil 1 M-208A filter which is what Mobil 1 suggests on their website.

    Make sure to always keep an eye on the oil pressure switch under the intake to make sure it's not leaking. Oil drains down making it look like a rear main seal leak. No engine light will come on and your rod bearing will go bad.

      🙏 for comment & advice ! lately i read some bad words about these engines and I decided to be more careful, to replace the engine oil every 5.000 km instead of 10.000 as before; we don't use a lot the car, after more than 5 years we are on 50.000 km ... now the brakes are finished; just received the parts, bought brake fluid and I intend to make some more preventive maintenance on the car ... thanks again and good roads to have, I wish you !

      hey ! thanks for comment ! I used some antiseize paste for the SCREWS (min 25:00) ! ONLY ! You can see in the movie the bushings are DRY ... min 23:31 I didn't use any kind of oil or grease on them ! the sway bar became black because i touched it many times not because I used some oil/grease on; those bushings have a slot, so it is not hard to put them back ... the music ... it is free from youtube 😜... meantime I do not use any kind of music when I do movies about jobs like that ... just check later movies if interested ... last year i tried to do the same job on the Yaris ... ON THAT IS A NIGHTMARE to work; much worst than on Hyundai !!! I wasn't able to release the frame ! much tighter space to work on ! so, I'll wait until the link-bars will be finished and I'll try again because I bought some tools who should help me to work a little easier on that job ! before to bring home that Toyota, I was so confident on that company ... and now, I changed - a lot - my point of view ! good roads to have, I wish you !

    Maybe you should torque the hub retaining bolts to spec....would be the shits to loose a wheel right?

    • @mipmixchannel
      @mipmixchannel 6 месяцев назад

      they have to be very well tightened ! if you don't use anti seize paste, you can torque them at the specs; if you add some paste, is better to torque them a little more, let say a 10% value ... on those screws is 1/4 of full weight of that car, so it's a safety concern ... thank you for comment ! good roads to have, i wish you !

  • @Denver1976Man

    Sometimes you can pound those hubs off. But most of the time you can't. Knock out 2 lugs opposite of one another. Get 1/2 inch by 3 inch 8 grade bolts and nuts. x2 and put the bolts through the lug nut holes and on the other side of the hub attach the nuts. Tighten the bolts leaving the nuts against the hub until they bottom out against the backing plate. Make sure to get between the bolt holes. As you tighten them down in equal turns. It will finally push the hub out. Believe me when I say. It is the best way if your in the rust belt. Great Video. You left getting it out. Which is the hardest part sometimes. You did a wonderful job teaching how.

    • @mipmixchannel
      @mipmixchannel 7 месяцев назад

      Hi ! 🙏🏻 for coment & ideas ! I still have the original hub and maybe some time I’ll try to do as you suggested ! As I’m not an English born person I don’t understand the meaning of the expression “You left getting it out”… The point is my car still has errors on the dashboard … they appear about 5 months after the replacement of the hub and cable. I saw a friend who had a tester and now he found different codes… The car is working fine but the ABS it’s out of order… unfortunately. Thanks again and best wishes to you !

    Hello :) at 19:21 in the video you write: "i had to place the screw of the ball joint into the control arm, and it was pretty difficult". my concern is, that i will have the same problem. how can i avoid it? i have a hyundai i30. the suspension of these cars are very similar.

    • @mipmixchannel
      @mipmixchannel 11 месяцев назад

      indeed, suspensions are the same ... if you have someone to help it will be easier; as you saw in my video, I was alone, the night came over, I was in hurry to finish ... the strut assembly is moving, but you have to pull strong with a hand, and to find out the right position with the other one ... and in plus of all, I do not have a lift to work up ... so, a weird position; so, my advice is to have some help from a friend just tu help you to fix the screw ... one of you pulling the strut/brake assembly and the other one to introduce the screw ... after that, you can work alone ... wish you success !

      Thanks for your comment! It seems you are french. I could write in French… You have the same noise and clunky when you get over bumpy roads as when the link bars are used/broken. If you already replaced the link bars and the noise remains that mean those bushings from stabilizing bars are finished too. It happened to my cars from time to time… so, I checked again all suspension and nothing wrong! I tried to see if those bushings are ok but couldn’t figured out… you need to lift the car on both side to see. So I saw the bushings are not expensive at all, I decide to buy them and change them. After, no more bad noises inside the car. Hope this helped you out! Good roads to have I wish you!

    That is the wrong filter for the Turbo engine. That is not a high flow oil filter. you need to get 1WPY-14-302. The holes are much larger allowing more oil flow to the engine and turbo. you can feel the difference.

      That is not accurate. PY8W-14-302 is absolutely a correct filter for the 2.5T. It's what comes installed from the factory. They are hard to find in the US now though. 1WPY-14-302 superseded PY8W-14-302 in the US market and is made by Denso in Thailand. There is also PY8W-14-302-MV which is made in Mexico and while it's technically a fit it should be avoided due to quality issues.

      I am working on… After I did it I found i didn’t fix my problem… I made research, bought the right assembly, replaced the hub which has the ABS sensor pressed in … Today or tomorrow I’ll put online with all details… about this “odyssey” … It’s weird, I have that problem on a Toyota!!! On the Hyundai Elantra I have 274.000 km and never had troubles like this !!! Sorry…

    You are replacing a sensor wire harness, not the sensor. Please correct the title of the video. The sensor is the thing in the hub that you plugged into. I hope your ABS lights were helped by this.

      hi, and thanks for your comment ! this is the part I bought ... "Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Connector" even for me it was a bit strange but if they name it that way ... a piece o wire in fact ... 🥸 www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=5408913&cc=1502640&pt=762&jsn=1 I did't find the picture with the code I had ... but I had 3 lights on the dashboard (parking brake + abs + traction control) and now I have no one ... seem it is working well .. 😎

      I have one with 215k km's, 2009. It has been fairly reliable, and cheap to fix when it does break. When I bought it it needed the timing belt and harmonic balancer done. Timing belt is a typical thing for any 2000's car, needing a new harmonic balancer already was a little unreliable though. Since then my only issue was that the door window switches stopped working, they are a bad design. Each switch was about $50 Canadian and took only 2 hours or so to replace all of them. Otherwise I have had no issues, with the 2.0 litre gas engine and 5 speed manual I get 6.4 L/100KM on the highway, city mileage is not amazing though, around 9.5 L / 100KM. It is the best car I've owned, very happy with it.

    Nice ! I have a 2021 Mazda 6 with the same engine and I also change my own oil at home. What country do you live in ? I live in the US and my Mazda dealer as well as several other local Mazda dealers I called have been using Mobile 1 synthetic so that’s what I use to do the oil changes on my car. The only Mazda branded oil they had at the dealer was conventional.

      Thanks for your comment! If you watch my videos about the oil change, you will see I change the oil at maximum 10.000 km (-6.200 miles)! Always synthetic oil !!! Here in winter is cold and in summer warm and humid ! When I bought the car I changed the oil first time at 2.000 km and after at 10.000, and so on from 10 to 10 thousand… I did the same with our Elantra Touring and she is working well even now after 268.500 km ( -167.000 miles ) … This is the way I proceed… Good roads to have I wish you!

    I suspect I was having knocking/clunking noises coming from the sway bar/bushings on my 2005 Santa Fe. I applied some AT-205 that I had lying around, to the bushings. The next day I drove it, they quietened down a lot. I ordered some new bushings, but it's tight to remove them too. I think I'll apply some more 205 and see if the dried rubber swells back up.
