The VR experience is 2nd to none in my opinion. Sure ED has some things that could be better but over it's one of my favorite games.

@titomg81 I agree. But I'm still glad they put it in the game. I've been a fan of Elite since 84, I like what frontier has done. But I think the on foot part of it all could have been better.

@@fowlscoundrel Quite a few "small" things that added up over thr course of many updates. The in game economy reset that never really recovered (some critical system states disappeared entirely), the choice to graphically nerf the game in lieu of fixing the heart of performance issues. Updates adding new fearures in broken states that never get fully fleshed out further or fixed, the engineering overhaul that became in some ways grindier than before, made for less unique possibilities... Broken networking that never really got fixed. Issues with multicrew and wing connections, and worst of all: Neglecting VR with Odyssey and adding even more crap to grind. All my friends and I chose to remain on the legacy server, which is locked in a permanent, stale state.

​@FuzedBox I agree on all points. Well stated. I still love it though. I even like Odyssey, it's not perfect by a long shot and yes I think the devs have had a lot of mistakes/over sites. I can't say as to why they made the creative decisions that they did but it didn't ruin the game for me. Elite reminds me of of all the classic Sci fi movies I used to watch ad a kid. You are right about all of it, but in tue end it's just a game. Have fun with it man. Give Odyssey another go. Maybe I'll see you and your friends on a space port some time.

I found that it works well for pvp. I noticed that load outs differ on how effective they are depending on if the player is on a console or a pc. Or if they are using a flight stick.

The idea evolved after I started working it. I didnt start out with a battleroyale in mind. It was going to be a survival horror. But this project was started a year ago and then paused for about 6 months so that I could take a few more online courses.

Even though we haven't seen much, it still looks pretty good so far. So you learned the engine from just following tutorials and courses? I'm 2-3 weeks in and I don't wanna fall into "tutorial hell" ... i still haven't finished an fps tutorial series yet, im on another project for now @@fowlscoundrel

@tsponcho yes. I learned most of what I know from tutorials on youtube. It's important to focus on a specific thing you want to learn. Example being: you are building a FPS and want to learn hand animation. Watch everything on just animation. 90% of all animations are built the same. Lessons about reload anims can be applied to major anims like rolling and combat.

I have all "frame work" done. So all concept design, game modes are done. I also have 2 battle Royale maps done. They are rather large so 2 will do for now lol.

Soulless flat acting paired with rebellious and disrespectful dialog to make someone look tough when all it does is make them cringe af. Losing the map was stupid but how Sabine figured out that twisting the sphere is how you solve it... gawd it makes everyone who looked at it that much more stupid. Who knew that admiral thrown would leave his location hidden in a rubiks cube. Stupid

I didn't find it well written. Just the opposite. They made the rebels idiots and the female leads shallow and predictable. It's the same thing over and over. The only difference now is that the female leads are like able to Rebel fans. It's the same shallow writing done in a "nice" way.

I do like the casting choices made for all the roles. I wish disney respected women enough to write smart and thoughtful dialog.

@@fowlscoundrel not really, after at least 8 years of this from KK and it's seepage into every other Disney franchise, most people have given up the ghost and left their streaming service, nobody is buying the merchandise and sales are down at the parks. They will reap what they sow, I personally would like Universal (comcast) to buy up either the IPs or even Disney as a whole, because Iger will never be able to Make Disney Great Again and whoever buys it needs to clean house and start fresh

Disney is creating new content. It's not what traditional fans are used to so yes sales are not ideal but that's what Disney does. Make IPs there own and a lot of trial and error. They want a viable ROI that everyone can feel a part of and not just the fans. Weather this is a good idea or not still has yet to he seen but I am interested in what the next year has to offer.
