Could you make a video about how to use different musical techniques to draw out emotion in compositions? Using different key signatures, dynamics, tempo, etc

Hey Robert! I am a 17 year old musician who’s been playing since I was 7 for my parents church and I’m mostly self taught and now teach music. I’ve been really struggling with speaking music on a “smart” level then just “feeling” it, for example like timing or reading music notes and I would really want to teach my students this since I didn’t get taught that way too much. If you can help out with that that’d be perfect unless I misunderstood your video but have a blessed life and hope your Channel blows up!

Hi Robert, First, thank you for always giving great advice and Tutorials for Music Composers, especially the starting ones (like me). As a starting composer, I would like to watch all YT content which concentrate on the challenges the new composers face, for example, how to connect properly with potential clients or collaberators, also ones about how to start a new composition (Film or media score). I appreciate any Advice from a cool tutor like you Robert 😊.

CAN'T GET ORCHESTRATOR UI TO RECORD: I am on Logic Pro 11 with the newest Opus and Orchestrator and I cannot find any way to make the RECORD icon do anything at all. I see the little 'hand' with a large white dot to its lower left but that is all. It doesn't appear to be recording anything and I have tried dragging the little hand just incase it was do it by default but still nothing. Are you doing something to active 'recording' in some way? I feel that something must be missing here. I sure could use a little help with this if anyone knows.

Robert, I am right there with you. I have been battling Imposter Syndrom for over the past few years. So much so that I've openly said it amongst my friends and family. As if, I was normalizing it. I told myself that I would make music for myself as well, concentrate on my strengths and improve on my weaknesses this year. No stress, no deadlines - getting back to the "Why" I've wanted to do this.

can you make a video about (or explain) basic routing ? I don't know if I should load Opus as a software instrument (which kills my CPU) , or if I can use midi data/tracks to trigger the samples in the Opus app.

Robert, sorry I wasn't able to join you live. I thoroughly enjoyed your content. We all must take note of where we're at, where we've been and where we are going. I'm hoping to land a scoring job this year in religious media, something I've had on the back burner for a while now. Your input on work I've done through Boot Camp has helped me greatly improve my aspect of not only my composing skills but mixing as well. Wishing you and yours a productive New Year and look forward to your new videos.

Funny thing about setting up MIDI parameters in a template: I learned from Guy Michelmore that he balances modulation and expression around the middle instead of at 127 vel. I keep running into issues with setting up my template. Somehow, in a course a lot of sensible things are being said but never everything I need to know....still not composing either here, Robert.

2:47 Yeah that's definitely where I am at the moment... 6:56 From what I've noticed with live streaming especially is that it's the unpredictable moments that make livestreams enjoyable and memorable. You definitely need to be ready for those tangent moments to pop up. At the end of the day I think livestreams can accomplish two things your own accountability and entertaining the audience. Just like with making videos it takes time to present a personality that draws in audiences.

Kinda same but thats beacuse im trying to learn orchestration and how to turn piano into full orchestra but i cant quite understand its very hard and that has stopped me from releasing music for months

how to map EXPRESSION intoa DAW ? seems impossible :-( HOW TO AUTOMATE EXPRESSION ?

I've watched the first release video of cine brass way back in the day, he definitely said it was 3 guys playing the ensemble, and 2 on the mutes.

I can run 80 plus tracks with tons of plugins with no issues on an A14 chip...how is this even possible?, simply free up the resources by DELETING all the apps unrelated to Logic Pro...then disable services not required. I don't need Numbers on my tablet, I don't need Reminders...I don't need Messages nor several other apps since I already have them on my phone. A tablet must be dedicated as a design tool...not a family play toy. I am glad I don't need to get a chip better than my A14...if someone has an M series chip, engaging these app practices would be stellar for the creation experience.

I should also mention that I encourage all of my piano students to sing because I consider the voice to be the most primary instrument. Even though you'll highly benefit from learning to play piano, the fact that you can sing shouldn't be overlooked!
