They are very different films, but both tell their stories with very unique and gripping visions from their respective directors. Sam agrees The Substance is a masterpiece and finds it very annoying when people classify the 3rd act insanity as, “a very poor way to execute interesting concepts”. It took a BIG swing and stuck the landing. 10/10, as you said. Glad to see someone gets it. Would highly recommend Nosferatu as well. If you can marvel at The Substance, Nosferatu is likely up your alley as well. Very different, but similar in quality.

@MediaMadmenProductions exactly 💯 and Lily Rose Depp is my girl so I'll definitely check out Nosferatu to your point I can understand why people don't like the third act "Monster ElisaSue" as it's pretty gross and disgusting as much I personally love The Substance this is not a movie I'd go recommending to any random person unless they're really into horror like myself because if you're squeamish can't stand blood or needles this movie will probably make you vomit which is understandable but because I been saying Elisabeth and Sue are equally soulless and vacuous like we forget they are the same person but they are like the ending shows in my opinion kind of like Frankenstein that Sue was the monster that Elisabeth created and she became the architect of her own demise so superficial and vapid and shallow only cares about her looks and not developing herself as a person outside of being "hot" she died as the monstrous figure she created because she loved living as Sue notice how when Elisabeth had her week she became so boring like all she did was sit at home watching TV stuffing her face like she was pathetic had no life but as Sue she felt like only then could she be "seen" have a social life date etc like that's what I found so sad about Elisabeth everything with her was so surface level as a person she felt empty

@Model_Roe couldn’t have broke their characters and arcs down better myself. Totally agree on the notion that it is not a movie for everyone, especially when the 3rd act kicks into high gear. You need to start your own film analysis and review channel🫶🏻

@MediaMadmenProductions thanks 😆 I definitely love movies do maybe I will but yeah what I took away from it and I have no idea if this was what Coralie was going for is more than anything The Substance is a cautionary tale like when you don't develop yourself as a person outside of externals and your appearance this is what could happen lol I mean The Substance to me is like a metaphor for Botox fillers plastic surgery etc notice how a lot of people who get extensive plastic surgery look like literal monster's lol kind of like Monster ElisaSue they are unrecognisable and look scary 😵‍💫
