A job interview can be a stressful situation for anybody. Interviews provide insight into how a person may "fit" into the employer's organization. An interviewee's personal and professional demeanor will be scrutinized intuitively and/or deliberately by the interviewer. Believe it or not, a hiring decision may oftentimes be influenced by the interviewer's perceptions of the applicant during the...

Do you think using tools like ResuBot is better than just using Google Docs for formatting? I’m curious what others think.

Tbh, Christa is me in a sense. I'm autistic so I cannot make eye contact and I do kinda gaze around, but do still listen. I would actually require some hand stimulation in the form of drawing in order to really focus, but wouldn't be able to do that in an interview. Please keep in mind that special needs folk may not behave the same as those without - including being unable to keep eye contact or being able to appear "focused". Should also add that after the pandemic, people may not be comfortable with shaking hands anymore - and my autism can also boost this due to being uncomfortable with touching others or being touched. I know this vid was posted 12 years before, though. I'm just throwing this out there since it may not had been seen in a while. The jewelry was definitely gaudy though, and tbh, I feel like the 2nd person's top was a little borderlining "too much exposure". The Polo on the last guy seemed dirty to me with his pants hanging kinda low so that was what caught my eye. Polo shirts may be okay for some interviews, but maybe not one like that.

5:32 I thought her talking on the phone would make her be perceived as distracted and therefore unprofessional as you should not be on the phone with anyone directly before something important like an interview as you should be giving it all of your attention and it could make it seem like if she was hired she would probably constantly be on the phone as she can't even avoid being on it before a big interview, but I didn't expect immaturity. Many adults may often be on the phone with their parents not because they are reliant on their parents or their parents want to check up on them often, but the other way around.

I found the way Christa's behavior was criticized pretty offensive. It isn't only neurotypical people who do job interviews. The caricature seems already disturbing but the way it is described further into the video with the word choice of ''obviously'' followed by biases made me feel really dissapointed. I am aware that the concept of ''First 30 seconds'' is based on prejudices, and if we act a stereotypical way we can turn them into positive biases against us which would give us a higher chance of being hired, but I believe the ableism here shouldn't be hushed up.

Exactly what I thought. If she's chosen for an in-person interview, she has necessary qualifications. She might be autistic or ADHD, or whatever, but she might be a genius. For example, I find it distracting looking someone straight in the eyes, I need to look aside and even wonder around to think.

@@mariagregory2503 My autism: *looks around anxiously* Don't forget they also criticized that last guy for shaking his legs nervously. I don't know if this was a good form of education since it's not even considering people with special needs who may be unable to keep eye contact or may have some form of body stimulation when being unable to move around otherwise. And now the handshake is pretty irrelevant imo because of the pandemic. This vid's 12 years old though, so I'll cut it slack on that end. But I also am not comfortable with people touching me so I don't like handshakes. I'd rather wave, say "hi", or something instead.

I am just wondering, what grade would you give each of the candidates between Anthony, Marissa, Christa, Todd, Kaitlynn, and Steven?; the choices of grades are A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D-, or an F I think that everybody has flaws, but I myself would give Anthony an "F" because of his awful attitude. What do you think of that?

sometimes its good to say, lets do more interviews till we find someone fit, its important because i don't think these applicants are ready in any way for this job. Like Nokia often times does several rounds of interviews with not hiring a single person, i think that is a important job skill to have!
