Free motion apple core and feathers on my Bernina 217

I haven’t free motion quilted on my 217 in a long time and I felt like giving her a spin. Be sure to watch until the end to see the darning device in action (my fellow 217 enthusiasts will appreciate this 😃)

Bernina 730 Artista overview of screen and buttons.
Love your video! I bought one and just love it!
I have this beautiful machine passed down to me from my mother. Recently got it out to sew in a zipper. The bobbin loaded perfectly. I used the hand wheel to pull the bobbin thread through and it was fine. Then the hand wheel stuck/jammed won’t spin. I’m at a loss. I’ve watched all the troubleshooting videos but none of them worked. I feel like it’s a simple fix. Do you have any idea.
Hi. The straight stitch doesn't lool straight, is that correct?
Had a good giggle at the story about “Todd”! 😂
Hi, I have an 850 and it sits in an oil pan. I also have 217 but I like the 850 very much. I have been yearning for a 950vvb but it seems like overkill now. I also have a small machine that looks like the 217, exactly.if I can find it in my storage I’ll come tell you about it.
How to mack reverse stitsh to secure the stitsh?
I am just getting mine going. Learning little by little. Love this one..
I need the bobbin case spring. my bobbin isnt popping out as it should and my thread stops in place.
I recently purchase this machine, my first industrial. I’m having trouble setting the bobbin, any advice?
Hi i have an artisa 170 powers on but screen is blank?
I have a 930 I acquired from a person who is not able to sew any more. It has a presser foot lifter problem. It hangs up and hits something solid inside. I watched a couple really detailed RUclips videos on how to get inside to take a look. However my machine does not have screws on the front plate where the light switch is like the ones in the videos. I lubricated the machine according to instructions and cleaned out the lint which was minor. It's very clean inside. Is there another way to get that plate off. I can send photos to you. How would I go about sending those. Don't tell me to take it to the dealer..I'm on social security income and cannot afford to pay the huge amount they are quoting me.
Thank you for an outstanding demo on the 930. Is this machine available in South Africa?
Love, what are the lights for as you sew?.how long did it take you to become used to them? I’ve not seen this before..
What an informative video. Thank you.
Mine is bought in 1972, never cause me any trouble and I am still loving and using it. I also have a 801 from my mom's estate, just as wonderful and still in use.
I am confused already. can you please tell me which foot fits the artista 730
My machine won’t let me get into my decor stitches beyond #15. What am I doing wrong? You called it the stitch category screen that’s not what’s coming up for me
I reset my machine and everything is fine now.
Do these fit on the artista? I am finding the needle hits the foot where it should be able to go into the fabric. And how do the artistas fit into the Bernina numbering system?
OMG- Not esthetically pleasing? That machine was way ahead of it's time and it still looks modern and great. Mine which I bought in 1974 still sews like a champ but I broke down and bought a computerized Bernina 880 a few years ago. I love that one too! Can't go wrong with a Bernina!!!!!!
I have a Bernina Sport 801. Do you have video on that machine? ♡
Jeremy, how do I get my feed dogs back up. You said something about a button on the side. My 1630 has no button on the side. Am I missing something. What is the name of the Bernina 1630 group on Face Book? Thank you so much for this video. Do you have any more videos?
I believe the new style feet started with the a series. I believe this is also when the needle threader was introduced and they needed to create a bit of space between the presse foot shaft and stitch hole

Mesmerizing
have had my machine for several years, so nice to have a overview and a reminder of what the buttons mean
Super appreciated the close up video of threading the bobbin. I've been messing it up.
Thank you Jeremy, just started with my machine today, was overwhelmed moving from a manual to a computerised machine….just love your approach so helpful and enjoyable!!! Thanks again. Scottie
In quilting we really want a scant quarter inch. Why don’t they come up with a scant quarter in foot so we aren’t moving needle to achieve it. Thank you
I should’ve watched this video sooner…. 🤧🤧 I think I bought the wrong one…
Thanks Jeremy for wonderful video . I live in Los Angeles. Looking forward to your advice for walking foot . Thanks once again
Hi sir , I own a Bernina 1630 sewing machine. We moved to a different house and the accessories box of the sewing machine is lost . I need a walking foot and a zipper foot too . Used stuff is ok . Where can I get them please? Etsy ‘s price is 200$ . Very expensive for me.
There is a little tab on top of the machine. Does the thread go in front of the tab or behind the tab as you bring the thread across the top?
Beautiful
Coming over from Stitched by Susan. Looking forward to watching your videos !
Thank you for being meticulous in your explanations of all details :)
Does anyone know how to get the embroidery to work? I feel like I'm using the right knobs but it is still just going straight
I have the Bernina 830 machine purchased in 1979. I have the walking foot from the 80s (still NEW). It has the same numbers on the jewel case and box you shared.
BTW Loved your video. Very detailed and helpful, if I watched it when I first started out hahahaha But I learned a lot. Like in the feet case, the brown felt thing, for the life of me, could not figure out what it was. I was using it to clean or shine the bottom of the feet. HAHAHAHAHA PIN CUSHION OMG I feel like a giant dork. And wow, the peddle trick. WHAT!?!? Can’t wait to do that tomorrow morning. My machine is my mother’s. I have been caring for her and have ventured into her sewing room. It something I always watched my mother do, and I admired about her talent. I just dove in and started teaching myself..I am hoping my mother gets well enough so she can get in there and teach me her tricks as well.
I have to Ditto about Berninas starting obsessions. It started mine about 4 months ago, and sewing has now gotten my soul.
can u please do tutorial how to use zipper foot with this machine?my needle position is always in the middle if the foot
hello!could u please do tutorial using zipper foot
Where were you 30 years ago when I bought my Bernina 1630?!!! You are a very good teacher! I appreciate your efforts.
Thank you Jeremy for an excellent tutorial. I love my machine and I know I have only scratched the surface of what it is capable of but your tutorial helped me so much! I’m a quilter and lately when I’m quilting or even adding binding using a walking foot I’m getting huge, uneven stitches. Would you have any idea what the cause of this could be? I thought I’d ask an expert before taking it into the shop.
Hi Jeremy, thank you so much for this video. I, too, am embarrassed that I have had this machine for several years and had no idea what all the buttons were used for until watching this video. I have done heirloom sewing for years and recently machine embroidery designs. It does beautiful embroidery - as good or better than my new Bernina machine. I am passing this machine down to my daughter, so would LOVE it if you did some more videos on this machine.
I have questions about my Pfaff Icon
I took a class with you at Bernia in Lawton. Where is your shop?
That’s beautiful
Hello, Great video thanks for sharing it with us !! I cannot find part two did you not do a part two?
What is the purpose of the blue bungee cord?
To help keep the quilt top aligned straight. I got it from All Things Quilty.
Thank you so much for making this video for your friend, and for sharing it on your channel. I just bought this machine for an absolute bargain, and it would have been so much harder to learn to drive it without your video. I’m not sure I would have even bought it without finding such a helpful tutorial video to guide me. I’m so excited to sew with this machine, and I’ve saved your video so I can come back if I get lost or confused. Thank you so much.
