When are they erntering service
They want to try and bring them in around january-march but with more new problems arising i dont see them entering service until summer next year or late next year. As well they are still being tested by network rail for verification on many trails so may be much longer
South Western Railway are wasting their money on bringing in the new Class 701 Aventra trains which are still doing test runs. I think that these new trains are expected to enter service some time later this year or next year.
understandable. personally it would have been wise to keep and possibly renovate the 707's as well as what they are doing with the 458's. spending £40m to refurbish the 442's which caused major faults with signalling to then be scrapped and almost £900m for new trains that would replace guards and the relatively new 707 is absurd. I would agree that it is for capacity sake but why get rid of the 456's so early and give guards a hard time? a controversial move to be sure on SWR behalf

Those ugly great gaps between the coaches frustrate the hell out of me. No-one cared about looks for these trains did they. The coaches look miles from each other.
All coaches have gaps even the Mk3 HST's
@@devon896 Not as wide and gaping as this. The Mk 3's are actually quite tight and the connector wider.
@Alltrains_mayhem These gaps are far, far wider than any train in British history. There is absolutely no concern for aesthetics. None. The clumsy roofs, the clumsy undercarriage, the crap build quality - the issues go on and on and on.

I think they may get at least something other than just blue. I cant imagine FEC leaving their trains like that without their brand on them so lets hope 🤞🏽
