I Have just discovered you...thank you so much for your work in putting these vids out here. My gastroenterologist diagnosed me with functional IBS informed me I dont cross any' red lines'. And sent me away gently,with 2 IBS websites to look at. I have had scans MRIs..been AnE few times..have been diag with Fibro too Which I try to manage now without meds..just meditation CBT.etc.. On my own... I have periods of lovely remission and them WHAM an IBS flare which has crippling pain and back spasm.. I am in one now and was TOTALLY at a loss of where to turn...and then the universe somehow brought me here ! So today I shall start my new journey..my stress and anxiety are triggers and I am grateful that I shall have your vids to help me on my way.. I have suuspected that I need to work on my brain/ gut relationship..was lost and alone with it all..but now I am reassured that like yourself I shall balance and put all this pain slowly step by step behind me..thank you..😊

The reservoir was chosen as a metaphor because it represents calm, steadiness, and control. The visual imagery was chosen to help reinforce the idea of trusting the body’s natural rhythms and finding balance (the water being held effortlessly until it’s ready to be released). That's great to hear, I'm so glad you are finding the videos helpful! I don't tend to eat much gluten day to day - prefer a whole food plant/animal based diet. But when I do have gluten (I enjoyed a pizza a few nights ago!) I don't have any issues. I hope that answers your question!

When I wake up. I feel fine, then I monitor, then it starts. It is just tiny gas, not even so much gas. ⛽️ ⛽️ ⛽️

The Nerva app addresses this very cycle. It is a hypnotherapy program developed by Monash University, the institution that developed the FODMAP diet. You listen at home daily for 6 weeks. Nothing weird, just helps you understand the gut-brain connection and learn tools for getting it under control. After the 6 weeks, you still have access to everything, including a “flare-up kit”. It really turned things around for me.

Thank you so much, I vomited three times and I couldn’t get rid of the nausea. Finally I laid down and put a heating pad. My anxiety immediately went down and I stopped breathing rapidly in pain.

when i get anxious i feel my lower stomach on the left side tighten, how can i change that?

My upper stomach is always full of gas

Our minds are powerful, and in fact a study hypothesized that people who drink alcohol-free cocktails may experience similar mental and physical changes as those who drink alcohol, if they believe they are drinking alcohol.
What does get or that half way through u quite then say get or great ? Then it starts up again?
Hi Linda, I'm not sure I fully understand your question. Sometimes when I leave silence/room for you to visualise something in a certain way, I will use a word such as "good"... as a way to bring you back to my voice and then continue to guide you on the inner journey.

i struggle with my IBS and anxiety in school. I used to not struggle, but ever since my mock exams, I have been so anxious. Because of that it was even anxiety inducing going to the cinema and be surrounded by people, because I was worried that my gas build up would need to be released. Now when I am in class and I feel uncomfortable, my thoughts just spiral and spiral to what if i need to fart and what if everyone thinks I’m disgusting. it has happened before and people were talking about it and making fun of me and that has affected me as well. And it’s so hard to talk about with my parents because they won’t get how it affects me and would just reduce it to nothing. I really am trying but it is really upsetting feeling knots in my stomach when the bus is close to school, or when i am about to enter a class I think will trigger me. I want to be able to be excited about going to school again like I used to be. I hope these techniques help..

This started after i got sick.
This is a very common pattern unfortunately.
I was doing much better, I had some stress then bam the night trapped gas starts again.

Is there a test or other reliable way to diagnose it?
Unfortunately I'm not aware of a single definitive test, but there are several methods to test for a histamine intolerance including blood/urine tests (they can measure the levels of histamine and the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO) & can indicate histamine intolerance), skin prick test, food & symptom diary, and following a low histamine diet. However, all of these tests are not generally conclusive and symptoms can overlap with other conditions.
