I love running in nature
Levada do Moinho trail run
Starting from Ponto do Sol (Madeira) after getting the 10:00 bus from Funchal (bus 80) I ran/hiked up to the church "Igreja da Lombada" and then ran along the Levada do Moinho. The outbound journey is pretty standard. Near the turn around point the route is closed so you have to cross over the river twice, but once you get back onto the levada the magic (and my recording) begins. The absolute highlight is going underneath the waterfalls at "Cascata da Levada Nova". Then you go through a tunnel, around 200m long and emerge along a high route all the way back to Ponto do Sol. Warning, if you do not like heights then this route can be scary as there are sections without railings. The bus bac...

Cromford Bole hill

I ran from Carsington Water to Matlock, via Wirksworth and Bole hill. This video shows the quarry and night sky observatory outside of Wirksworth as well as the long descent from the top of Bole hill to Cramford
New Mills to Buxton

Running from New Mills via Lantern pike, Hayfield, Kinder reservoir, Chinley Churn, Chinley, Eccles Pike and Combs Moss all the way to Buxton The only section I would not recommend is Combs Moss; it is boggy, ankle twisting and slow. I'd recommend diverting to Ladder Hill and then Fernilee Reservoir
Running down Skiddaw to Keswick
Просмотров 202 месяца назад
I went up Skiddaw (931m) to capture the sunrise. It was very cold and unfortunately cloudly at the top, but did manage to get some good views inbetween the clouds. This video shows the descent. Getting up Skiddaw from Keswick is a non technical route, it is just a long slog. It can be very cold and windy at the top so do bring a warm coat and layers
Orrest head descent
Просмотров 62 месяца назад
I ran up Orrest head before sun rise to take pictures. This film is the descent from the top all the way to where I was staying in Bowness, having completed The Lap ultra (75km) The sun rose at 6:47 and Windemere lake, which you normally get great views of, was covered in a blanket of mist
Macclesfield and Bollington trail running
Просмотров 383 месяца назад
I ran from Macclesfield train station to Langley via the trail route from Macclesfield golf clup. I joined onto the Gritstone trail and followed it all the way outside Bollington. The day I did this run was when the Gritstone Grind trail race was taking place. I am kicking myself that I didn't take part :D
Cader Idris fox and minffordd path

Recorded some of a half marathon trail run starting and ending at Dolgellau. The route involved more walking than running; especially the ascent of the steep shale fox path. The views were amazing, my favourite being the lakes cuddled by the mountain
Run around the Cloud Congleton

Starting at Timbersbrook I follow the Gritstone trail path up to the top of the Cloud. I run down the other side and then along the by-pass route, through the woodlands to form a triangle. This was a mid week run after work, 17km in total (from Astbury Mere and finishing at Congleton bus station)
Moel Siabod and Daear Ddu descent

For the UTMB UTS 100m you descend the Daear Ddu path down Moel Siabod. Here is my nervious recce of it. Worse I will be doing it during the night! The descent is very sharp at the start before becoming grass. If you stick to the trail then you have many rocky ridges to overcome but I'd say the initial descent is the most unavoidable scary part. In the video I only make it close to the lake, how...
Sea to sky final section recce

On the 3rd of August 2024 is the RunThrough sea to sky 53km ultra. Starting in Barmouth you go across the bridge and along the cycle path all the way to Dolgellau. You then ascend the mightly Cader Idris (893m high) and follow the ridge line and path all the way down to the coastal village of Llwyngwril. You ascend one more time along a high coastal path back towards Barmouth In this video I go...
Leek to Rushton Spencer and back via Rudyard
Просмотров 244 месяца назад
Ran from Leek to Rushton Spencer along a trail that used to be an old railway line. There is now a miniature railway that goes along some of Rudyard lake. I ran along the popular east coast on the way out and then along the east trail route on the way back. The route is mostly flat (especially the east side) but towards Rushton Spencer the route is not as groomed

I came 10th; 2nd in V35 age category. It felt a rollercoaster, in the zone with focussing on trip hazards. Lots of fun!

I came first place in the Llangollen 50k 2024 with a time of 5 hours 53 mins :) Unfortunately I didn't capture too much footage as I was focussing on the race

Great stuff, we also doing lots of trekking - ruclips.net/video/Ze72IMvbNAw/видео.html cheers ))
Thank you, I really enjoyed watching your video. I've bought an off road wheel attachment for my wheelchair and I've been looking for accessible places to go. This looks great! Edit: New subsciber here 👍🙂
I love the idea of an off-road/trail attachment to a wheel chair! Delamere forest is so accessible. Have you looked into doing the weekly Delamere park run? Around Cheshire I'd recommend the Mickle Trafford to Queensferry cycle path (goes through Chester) and the biddulph valley path between Congleton and Hanley (16km)
@@demonischuk I'll look into into it. Thanks.
@@truthmerchant1 another suggestion; Leek to Rushton Spencer via Rudyard lake. I actually have a video that I'm currently editing; it should be out next week, where I did a half marathon along the trail. The trail has a minuture railway line, is dirt path vs tarmac and has window peaks of the lake as you travel along the route :)
Who’s that handsome devil at 2:53?
I am thinking of those train announcements regarding suspicious people
This video brings back memories from the chester marathon 👌 Great running.
Thanks :) I did the Chester marathon last year; certainly not flat :D Being a trail runner it was lacking a mountain or two; but I'd say it was more interesting than the Manchester marathon :)
That was rather pointless. I could barely see anything because it was so dark and there was no information about the place Four minutes I can't get back!
The video was mainly done for my Mum who was unable to get up to the ruins (the path is steep). I started filming just as it got light, but I believe after the first minute it is very easy to see. I need to play around light balance settings on my camera, I'm still new to it :)
@@demonischukBecause you know the site it may have been adequate but since I am in Australia I am entirely dependant on a well lit picture. So far as the built environment is concerned we only go back a few hundred years. That is five minutes ago for the UK.
Top running 👌
Good job!
Nice video. Wish I could get under 20 mins!
You will mate, with consistency running :) Before park runs I averaged 30 min 5k, I chipped away at that time by doing park runs; celebrating 25 min, 22.5 min and finally got a sub 20 at Delamere around 1.5 years ago
Looks like a soggy race 🙈 looked like a good one though.
It started drizzling 30 mins before the race 😆 I was so cold I bought a race hoodie and then proceeded to run the entire race wearing it
