Rex Ogle on Growing Through Being Kicked Out of Home
Rex Ogle, author of Road Home, describes being forced from his home in Texas after his sister outed him to his dad.
His father gave him a choice: if you want to be a part of this family, you must be straight, go to church, see a therapist. If you want to be gay, you will no longer be a part of the family and will be cast out. Ogle is gay and said to his dad, 'this is me,' and his dad kicked him out.
Ogle spent the next three months dealing with homelessness and hunger. He went to New Orleans and contacted an older gentleman he had recently met and stayed with him for a while. Since Ogle had no money and nowhere to go, there was a power differential in the relationship. Things got shifty, b...

I'm sad this doesn't have more views or comments. It's important. I'd say asians suffer more oppression than blacks. And all of our bouncing back was self-made and earned. Always fight back. A lot of these westerns think you're weak. Step or get stepped on. Art can liberate you, conceal you, but always be ready. Always be armed. Why else would america value weapons, firearms, so much? Value the sword, the bullet, the word.

So He is a narcissist, right? My husband is a narcissist. If I try to leave him, he would probably dot he same. I have to wait until HE finds a poor new girl to trick. Then, he will be too distracted by her. And maybe he won't try to get half custody. He cabt have ANY custody. He's evil and he cabt and won't ever take care of the children if they're by themselves with him. I'm trapped.

@snezanavasilevska3586 I don't have any friends, and my family didn't believe me. Now they believe me, but they won't help. They say I just need a marriage counselor!!!? Nobody understands. They're too stup*d and naive to get what a narcissist is. I only had guy friends, and they def won't be able to help me and FOUR whole kids. When I started having kids, I didn't have time to do anything other than work and take care of them (especially since I'm doing it on my own. "Married single mother," they call it. When you do everything and the man does nothing.

I’m sorry for your bad luck, because you were not there to harm the bear, but she was a momma protecting her cub. They are immensely powerful, and I’m usually the bear defender, as I still am in your case. If you frequent bear country often enough, you’ll meet a bear, unfortunately this one saw you as a threat. Considering the slaughter we bring on bears, it’s a miracle they don’t try to kill us more often !, I’m sorry for all you have suffered, but admire how you have turned your life into something so positive !
