      @@drydenstewartenterprises You are entitled to your interpretation. I go with this: Samhain was traditionally the Celtic New Year, a time when the veil between the worlds grew thin and the Celts honored their ancestors. Samhain marked the Celtic New Year, the end of summer, and the end of the harvest season. It also signaled the beginning of winter, which they associated with death.

In SW Washington state there are 3 types of blackberries: * the small trailing native blackberry * invasive Himalayan blackberries *invasive Evergreen blackberry The small blackberries are the most flavorful, but require hunting, as they are wild. Himalayan are large & not as heavily seeded as the Evergreen, but are the mildest flavor wise. I use a small strainer to sort out any excessive seediness....the chickens love this treat. I'm glad you stopped watching when you needed that, that's the reason I took the time to add a warning to the video!! The last thing I want is for people who suffered like I did to be triggered by this, when it's just supposed to heal. I was also diagnosed with C-PTSD because of what happened to me, and it's been nice to be able to put words on what I was feeling, but it is hard, isn't it? I'm taking notes (haha) of the journaling thing, I hear about it a lot but I admit I've never managed to get into it, despite trying a few times. I wish you the very best for your own healing, you deserve it

    you also need to remember that plant can host parasite that are in spores stages and stuck on the leaves or flat surfaces of the plant, washing your harvest is the only way to prevent you from being sick (adding a few drops of vinegar will get rid of them entierly)

      Let me know how the maple syrup thing goes especially, I'm super interested to know the results!!

    Could I make the dandelion honey with organic maple syrup? It also has many antioxidants and good stuff in it and I like maple lots.

    • @TheGallicWitch
      @TheGallicWitch 2 года назад

      I don't see why not! We don't really have maple syrup in my country so I can't guarantee the result you're going to get, but at the very least taste-wise, I think this'll be good! The delicious part about dandelion honey, outside of the honey of course, is that after a good while, the flowers crystallise in the honey and you can eat them like they're candy. It's incredible. But since I have no idea how maple syrup behaves, I don't know what you'll get. I think it should taste really good, and health-wise it's likely good as well, but I'm not sure!

      @@TheGallicWitch that is really interesting and it sounds like heaven in the mouth! I bet one can decorate a cate with those flowers. I think maple probably crystalline differently, yet I think there’s a a chance it will crystalline like sugar or sap, so I think I might try this recipe out myself YUM!

      You can. I am infusing my violet and dandelion with a regional tree honey from southeast USA from the sourwood tree.

    This came just in time, I need to make a chop to supplement my bird’s pellets because their ingredients are poo and I can’t get the healthiest alternative because it’s not locally sold, so I did a lot of studying herbs and produce for his writing a chop recipe to make sure he has all his nutrients and vitamins are there and is not missing on anything that his body needs (gonna be a super food chop, probably very powerful and healthy, I hope it’ll make an improvement on my bird’s health! I really believe it will) , got to an understanding dandelions has to be a main ingredient for their healthy properties and antioxidants and healing, I got to forage some wild mustard too, it is good to see how well you wash them, I have also put the washed mustard in the freezer to kill and pesticide. Didn’t find any dandelions that are in the harvestable grade that will be good for my bird. Can you rehydrate dried dandelion? How much more potent it is?

    • @TheGallicWitch
      @TheGallicWitch 2 года назад

      I wouldn't recommend it. You can do it, but dandelion is already a pretty light flower in terms of potency, which is in part why I added the leaves to the vinegar. IMO, dehydrated dandelion would pretty much become useless. On top of that, it's very very hard to dry dandelion and have it stay as a flower. Most of the time, as it dries, it turns into dandelion fluff like the stuff you blow on to make a wish, y'know? At least in my experience, I'm trying again this year but so far I've never succeeded once in keeping the dandelions as flowers. I doubt the fluff has medicinal properties, though you could always research it if you're really interested. IMO, dandelion is an early-spring, easy forageable, which is why it's worth it as the beginning of the season when you don't have much else, but as spring continues, there are a lot of great options that are stronger and more stable than dandelion and have the same properties.
