IM new to the game and i really appreciate how slow u explain it and u seem to be one of the good ones out there thanks man
The person that cleaned my roof left a powdery white residue on my roof and then Some of the moss and dirt started falling off of the roof later but there’s still moss up there. Now fine black particles that look like grains of sand are falling onto my porch. Did they ruin my roof?
Great video! Love the rinsing part. Too often most say NEVER rinse but the rain rinses anyway so why not speed up the process for your customer.
Absolutely great video and very helpful information thank you Sir.
Yap,yap,yap.
a square foot is 12x12 ...
But a "square" in roofing terms is a 10'x10' section, or 100 sq. ft. It's actually a little less, as there are 3 bundles of shingles in a square and each bundle is approximately 33.3 sq. ft.
Thanks for sharing
He needs a bigger name tag.
Great information and through all job; but did we forget the small roof peak on the left front of the house? Thanks again for all the information.
Excelente video, gracias.
He’s so professional I love him
Great video! My son has a pressure cleaning co in Miami for 10 yrs now - great pride in service like you
What happens if you can't walk on the roof you got to just shoot it the best you can from the edge of the gutter right
Cool vid. Cant believe the townhome occupants didn't get together and say "hey, lets get the whole roof cleaned so we don't have 1 half filthy and 1 half clean." How much does that name tag weigh? Strain on the lower back?
Even got all those pesky granules that you roof cleaning is supposed to check with that crazy rinse
Do you work in Houston?
.good video...p.s. don't do roof repairs for free. it's called up selling, or tell them to call a roofer then match that price...you'll double your money.
20 dollars per 10 square yards sounds reasonable.
A square is 10 X 10 what? Inches, cm or feet?
@Semper Fi Nice reply from an ignorant man. May be obvious where you live you idiot!
Solid video. Keep it up, pro‘s are always distinguished to those who care.
Hi, can someone please tell me where salt comes from in this whole process?
Bleach
The active ingredient in liquid bleach is sodium hypochlorite. After the chemical reaction completes, you're left with sodium chloride, also known as table salt (NaCl).
is it straight bleach or mix with water?
Very well made video. Thank you for the help!
$20 a square foot you outta ur mind that means y would charge $1000 just to do a jail cell that what that comes to $ 960
He didn't say square foot. He simply said square. A square is 10x10. So it's $20 per 100 sq ft of roof.. comes out to $2 per square foot and is an average cost of roof washing. Pay attention next time.
Clueless on bleach and the materials

Why not be honest and say you are using bleach?
did you do the back side of the roof ?
Very impressed with your professionalism! The only thing i do differently, I start my rinsing at the bottom to dilute the water to SH ratio run-off. I Love to see other Roof Washers that have actual roofing knowledge. You are definitely a credit to our profession! Keep on Rockin!
Hi, could you please tell me where Salt comes from in this whole process?
@user-nk4ny9rx5p i know this is old but it was never answered. The salt is sodium hypochlorite, which is the active ingredient used to make bleach. A mix of bleach, water, and a surfactant, is what is used in the softwash roof cleaning process.
i use pool Chlorine pump spray and spray off water
Good info. You guys go the extra mile with the caulking and repairs.
This may be illegal in some places without a contractors license. A friend of mine that does landscaping did work for an elderly lady and after completing his work and collecting payment, he noticed a board was loose and was a trip hazard. Being a nice guy, he grabbed a screwdriver and tightened the boards back down and went on his way. Little did he know a contractor drove by and saw him working on the deck and knew he wasn't a contractor and called the police and reported him. The police came and picked up my friend a little later and he got to spend the night in jail until the following day the police spoke to the elderly lady and when it was apparent she had no idea he had fixed her deck, it was obviously not something he charged for and was doing as a kind gesture, they released him. Before doing any add-on services like this, contact your insurance company and make sure you're insured for this type of work, and that you do not need a contractors license to do these types of repairs. Better safe than sorry.
gotta love neighbors
Just a thought... ...don't wear wally world $29.00 work boots to prevent sh from soaking your feet and saturating your bloodstream:-( 7:34
Great video.
Wait Let me make sure I got this right eight 2100 square-foot house divide that by 10 you get 210 multiply that by 16 and it’s like $3300 to wash the roof is that correct or am I missing something here thank you
Your missing it for sure. 2100 sq ft is 21 sq. At most your looking at 420.00
James please tell me what kind of pump or hose You guys are using plus how much bleach do you use in relation to the water in the soap I can never get it right I need help
Do your mixture light, test it out on a small portion, maybe on the area of concrete covered in algae or on the roof. Increase or reduce the concentration as required. Every roof cleaning is different. The key is dynamic in operations.
I like how he tries to look more professional by using words like double rinsig, association, specialist, doing roof repair for free 😂😂😂 yea right.
Well done
That roof looks like it had a lot of hail splatter on it. It's possible that it's damaged by hail. I would get a Adjuster out there first.
when the name tag is more important than the company logo. lol awesome vid. thank u a lot!
Do you rinse afterwards?
I didn't catch his name... anyone help?
Good stuff, I simply charge by sf of home similar to your formula. Always meet my hourly rate and always do estimates over the phone. Now I have my estimates outlined on my website as well and have never looked back. 😊👊
How much you charge a square ft
So you generally charge one fee per 100 sq. ft., no matter if the roof is single story or 3 story, if it is a shallow walkable pitch or steep and unwalkable pitch, or if there are gutters or not, or if there are a lot of sensitive plants or it is dripping into a bed of rocks with no plants around, if there is no debris on the roof or there is so much debris it takes hours to remove, or the roof is very lightly stained, or heavily covered in moss and lichen? If that works out well for you, that's great. I don't see how that works out without over charging simple roofs or under charging more complex roofs...?
What’s up with the extra large name tag bro
What sort of cheap crap is that roof covered in???
A regular 3 tab shingle Rockefeller.
Eyes are so overrated anyway.
Do you mask your SH roof cleaning mix with a scented surfactant?
It takes 2 persons not people now guys. That’s why we charge so much. What a joke most people can do this their self especially with a roof like this
What areas do you cover? $20 to $16 per square foot? I'm assuming that house in the video cost about $2.5k?
Semper Fi thanks for the clarification
