I do not like these interviews with the skaters just off the ice and just seeing their scores. The skaters were professional about it, but it seemed intrusive to me. They are still trying to get their breath back! I am glad that this practice was finally stopped.

When Kimmie was asked what was different why her triple triples were not downgraded - well it is an american judging panel. They are known for holding up their skaters at Nationals and being generous to send off their top skaters to the olympics as "contenders" with high marks.

Poor Maria always ends up either: very prepared, then skating first out of everyone, giving her low marks; or being nervous and unprepared, and skating last, right after the anticipated winner. She didn't fare too badly here, but this bad skate draw ended up plaguing her year after year!

It is nice to see all the great Canadian skaters. Here in US unfortunately everything is about the US skaters - which I guess makes sense but in international competitions I really want to see and learn about skaters from other countries, especially our friendly neighbors to the north. (I can be Canadian in spirit if I want, besides it's way too hot down here!) I especially loved Nicole's performance here, and if I went back in time I would say "tighten up the choreographic moves and make each gesture look more intentional" and she'd be placing at the level at least of Cohen, Hughes, and Suguri around that time. She looked very natural and flexible.

It is fun listening to Brian Order as a commentator. He is gracious in his remarks, and really understands where these skaters are coming from.

27:56 to 28:47 - of all Williams' masterpieces, this section is probably my favorite of all of his.

Those judges were stupid to deny Tonya the top prize.

During her days as an amateur competitor, Nicole had a history of inconsistency. Tonya Harding had been criticized for inconsistency too, but I NEVER saw her skate anywhere nearly as badly as Nicole!

I know that the iconic Michelle Kwan retired from the ice to become a career diplomat. Anyone know what happened to her sister Karen?
