    As someone who has spent a lot of their life playing this game, its so interesting to see someone play this as a completely new player with no prior knowledge on it. There are so many things you talk about and mention that most of us don't ever acknowledge or notice. This was a cool video! (: To answer some of your questions at the end: (As a player from Heroic server) 1. How is the difficulty later on? The difficulty can get pretty difficult. Most the bossing begins around level 200. If you want to see some examples, I recommend looking up bossing clips! (Black Mage, Seren, Kalos, Extreme Lotus - These bosses are super end game, some bosses before that most people do weekly are normal Lotus, Damien, Lucid, Will) 2. How grindy can it get? The game can get extremely grindy. Most players are looking for maps in certain regions so they can grind with the best rates for mesos. I play on Heroic server so mesos are the main currency. As for the drop rates, the items you were mainly picking up were specifically for quests. When you past lvl 200 there are some items that will drop from most monsters that are somewhat low drop rate but are needed to help progress your character damage and skills (Nodestones, Sol Erda, Sol Erda Fragments, Arcane Droplets, etc.) 3. Is there a better way to pick things up? Yes, there are pets in the game that will automatically pick up items if they are in range. There are skills you can give your pet to extend range. There is also something called a vacpet (vacuum pet) that will loot in a radius but these are subscription based. (You need to spend money to revive your pet every month). 4. Stories Majority of long term players do not pay attention to the story at all. The story does not play a big part at all for any of the characters. It just provides some context and beginner tutorials for new players. I believe all the characters' stories lead to Victoria Island or Pantheon one way or another. After that, you can basically say you never touch the character's story ever again in the same way as when they were introduced.

      Thanks for the awesome comment. I love hearing about games from their long term fans - gives a great perspective. Just watched through a couple of boss videos (Black mage and Kalos). The speed the players' health drops when they get hit by a mechanic is crazy! I love seeing that potions have cooldowns so you to dodge rather than face tank every ability! I was getting the feeling it would have a very grindy endgame. While I'm happy there is a better way to loot, it kinda sounds like a "create a problem to sell the solution" situation. A little sad character's don't continue to have individualized story, but it's totally understandable. With the amount of characters it would take a lot of work to continually make new stories for each one. Again, thanks for the perspective - really makes my day seeing comments like this!

    I mainly play Destiny 2, and recently started trying this game out. I've beaten the campaign and have started to farm out my first ultimate descendant. Frankly the game and its systems suck. The game feels like it was built like a gacha game. Rates on drops that are horrible enough that it is just leagues easier to buy what you need/want. The farming is brainless and way too repetitive, it feels like they spent so much time developing the brainless farms that they forgot to make aspirational content that you can actually use the stuff you grinded out in (my god outpost farming is so boring). Not to mention that to research a descendant or a weapon you will typically have to research 4 different things that also require 4 different resources each to get the descendant or weapon, resources should be consolidated and there should be some type of aspirational content (raids, dungeons, something like a grand master nightfall from d2 even) that you can get most useful resources from. The time investment to fully kit out a single descendant or weapon is insane, and unfun. Research times for things is just a stupid mechanic that is used to make people spend more money. The module system is like okayish? Unlocking modules you don't have shouldn't be as hard as it is but the modules definitely aren't the worst system in the game. Games can be grindy that's cool, but the grind has to be enjoyable, this game has made me glad that bungie shifted away from rng grind a long time ago, I would much rather be able to get my swag weapons/character fully kitted in less than a day and just play the content the game has to offer with my fully kitted stuff. Really there should be several things in the game that are not RNG drops at all, for instance there should just be a questline to receive the components you need to acquire a descendant. This game will need a lot of work for it to have staying power and they've gotta cut back on the greed.

    • @koshori3495
      @koshori3495 2 месяца назад

      Something else I don't love is that the best DPS strategies just involve shooting the same 1 weapon at the boss. In destiny 2 it is typically far more efficient to swap between multiple weapons to deal the highest dps and I find that very fun, idk if any game can really capture the fun dps cycles of destiny 2 but I'd love if they tried.

      I've heard a lot of Destiny 2 comparisons - kinda want to try it out now. Especially if they reduced to amount of RNG grind (not really my thing nowadays). I'm pretty sad the later game discourages weapon switching so much. I had a great time in the early game balancing sniper, shotguns, etc. Have a great day!

      @@rellgarra6918 Destiny in its current state as a PvE game is pretty good. However at the moment there hasn’t been much communication from Bungie on the direction of the game post The Final Shape DLC and the community is in like a limbo state. The studio also fired a bunch of great devs due to upper management incompetence. The game is def worth a try though if only to play the raids and dungeons it had to offer.

    Its fun until you hit some hellish grind walls in hard mode. The Catalysts/Activators are WAY too rare and hard to get for a game like this. You can run 50 amorphous mats in one go and not see a single blueprint drop. In Warframe you'd be swimming in Forma by that point. Their greed (Activators are $25 in the shop) will kill this game if they're not careful.

    • @ThunderEwokB
      @ThunderEwokB 2 месяца назад

      I dropped 6 Energy Activators bp just last week by simply farming parts to level up my weapon's unique ability, one time it even dropped twice in a row, it's not that hard, and catalysts are actually quite common, I already used over 20 (maybe 25?) during my 237h play time, and I don't ever focus on farming them, whenever I need one I just go to get it, usually takes about 30 minutes, longest it took was bad drop was 2h, but that happened maybe once. You kinda need to strategise your farming, if you want to drop a part for a particular weapon or character, check what else drops from it, if you need energy activator, then only farm materials that drop both, EA and the part you want, this way you have a chance to drop something nice, while grinding for what you need.

      @@Confederate115 Don't you see how that's a double bladed sword you're wielding? What makes your experience universal, but mine not? I know a lot of people who drop everything they need the same day or even the hour they make a decision to farm it. I have a lot of materials for Dead Bride's device from exp farming "Stop kuiper mining" operations, it's only normal so 15% for catalyst drop, but it takes 2s to kill her, and I have A LOT of them, so dropping one takes like 10min. It's seriously not that hard and I think it's extremely unfair that you're making this game seem harder or more unfair that it actually is.

    I’m mr 15 and beaten everything up to the frost walker as of rn, The issues I doesn’t see people talking about for this game is how it’s nearly impossible to play regular missions solo even when running with a near 250k dps, there were many times I literally could not progress through the story because no one else was on the map for hours and with no clans or anything it’s not an ideal system, also respawning in the same spot you died leads to mission failure and you can’t do anything about it, this game is modeled after warframe more than anything else but the thing is warframe has so many things to do that can earn you free weapons and cosmetics, this game has little to offer unless you want to grab your wallet and that’s not going to change

    • @rellgarra6918

      Thanks for the comment! Sad to hear it get's nearly impossible so solo. I really enjoyed the early solo difficulty - something not many games have - but would have been pretty disappointed to stop being able to progress. From what I've read, a lot of people seem to find the fun is grinding out the crazy drops to unlock stuff - not everyone cup of tea. Have a great day!

    • @ThunderEwokB
      @ThunderEwokB 2 месяца назад

      I am kinda confused by this comment. What do you mean it's nearly impossible to play regular missions? It's literally what endgame is all about, farming these missions over and over again, personally I don't have any issues with any of them, ever, I can even solo outposts as Sharen despite not investing anything into her at all, and I can do hard infiltration operations on 220-230% bonus within 7-10 minutes as my Bunny or AJax. Honestly 250k dps is not much, my Tamer had over 450k, and now my Enduring Legacy is close to 700k, and it's still nowhere near the really insane things people do, I have a friend with Afterglow Sword that has over 1.2kk dps.. The way I see it, the biggest issue is people do not understand how to build weapons and characters, and the game doesn't exactly teach you anything about it either, it just tells you "there are modules, have fun". Many also don't understand that 10% base crit +50% modded crit does not equal 60%.. it's 15%, and so they're building their weapons around wrong stats. I was familiar with the system right away because I sank over 4000 hours into Warframe, so browsing modules and matching them into insane builds was instinctual to me, but I can see how people who don't know the system too well would struggle with it, I am on one of TFD Discord community servers and I can see people equipping as many mods as possible without ever leveling them up- to put that simply, it's really bad. Also Nexon already mentioned they will add clans and trading in the near future, along with pity system for the drops.

    The short answer is yes. It's a free to play game, everyone can check it out and decide for themselves, and if they like grinding fests like Warframe, it's right up their alley. 4:23 Sadly that is not true. Guns are terrible and only give you an illusion of huge variety, truth is if you've used one pistol- you used them all, if you've used one machine gun- you've used them all, etc. The pool is huge only to prolong the length of the endgame a bit by giving you a load of weapons to level up for the mastery exp. Only Ultimate Weapons are somewhat different and better. 4:50 One of the weirdest designs of the game. There is no real matchmaking, you can be matched with people who have 100 level gear and just *melt* normal difficulty bosses, no matter their build. I'd recommend doing either every normal boss solo, or with a group of friends. If you have fewer players in your party than 4, the boss' stats are being adjusted, so it's not harder, i nfact playing solo makes it easier more often than not, because A LOT of players are underperforming later on, so if you're unable to carry, you lose. 5:48 it's actually wise to ignore it until you reach 100 lvl gear and unlock hard difficulty along with the endgame loop, then it's all about giving yourself a goal to accomplish and going for it; I want to farm that weapon, so I need this and this, I want new character, so I'm gonna farm a bunch of catalyst and an energy activator. This loop is not for everybody's liking, you need to enjoy this kind of gameplay. 6:40 yes, it's grindy, very much so, and the worst offense is that the percentages are actually real with no pity system. I have friends who farmed for Ultimate AJax for a week, and I was lucky enough to drop everything for him within two hours, it's pure RNG. Just yesterday I had to run a single mission about 40 times to drop 2.5% mod that was necessary for my build. The worst case I know was my buddy grinding for Ultimate Buny code, he was doing about 70 runs a day, he got it on day 5.. meantime I just opened one amprohous for fun and it dropped right away, first try. Honestly I feel like the drop rates are fair, I never have much issue with dropping anything I need if I set my mind to it, for example I have more Energy Activators than I have characters, and I dropped it all while farming for a weapon. 7:00 not really the case later on, you build one weapon and you invest your time into it. First you need to craft it, then you will want to level mods for it, that will consume a lot of gold and kuiper, then you will need to use an energy activator for extra 30 energy capacity for mods, and even then you will want to reset it a bunch of times to give it polarization slots so the mods consume half as much energy, then you will want to craft the same weapon four more times to max out it's unique ability. So yeah, as you can see you don't really do much switching, especially since Ultimate Reactors are always linked to a single weapon, so you want to drop one for a weapon you're using and stick with it. And no, I mean a weapon, like Enduring Legacy, not a weapon kind.. 7:38 that's a common issue FOR SOME REASON, I actually have a thread on Steam Community Hub with a fix for that, just google "tfd long preparing shaders" and it should pop up as a first or second result 7:49 not true, lost and found is only for rewards from the mission, if you don't pick something up- it says there And overall one thing that needs addressing- it's not as pay2win as people try to make it out to be. I bought only the battlepass, and you basically get 60% of the price back as you level it up since Caliber is there among other rewards, but other than that- no money invested, and I can get everything I want without much of an issue, I get energy activators and crystalization catalysts (both for maximizing your strength and finishing builds) while farming for other stuff, you can get them in the shop, but all you're doing is paying to save some time. Ultimate Descendats are stonger than their regular versions, but honestly not that much, the only notable difference is that they can use certain mods that regular versions can't, but still you can farm them for absolutely free, and it's not that difficult, you just gotta understand how the game functions and that in order to play it "right" you need three characters: -Bunny; for over all farming, she's the fastest at doing it, and the easiest to build -Enzo; he has passive ability specifically for opening hidden vaults that contain huge amounts of kuiper and special rare materials -Sharen; she's the only character that can successfully infiltrate enemy outposts and receive additional rewards And all three of them are also fun on their own, also easy to get, so it's a win regardless. I've sank 237 hours into TFD as I am writing this comment, I am nowhere near being finished with the game, I main AJax, almost finished his build and almost got a weapon maxed out for him, but I often switch direction in what I am doing, one moment I'll grind for the weapon, other I decide I want to craft a new Descendant, then I'll reset one of the characters and start leveling them up again.. I really like this game and I LOVE its lore, the only thing I hate are the immersion breaking cosmetics, but it's Nexon and they're known for it, so.. that ain't gonna change. I mean,. honestly this game has A LOT of issues, but I don't have time or energy to list them all, I just have hope they will fix and rework a bunch of stuff in the future.

      First - thank you for the really in depth and informative comment! 4:23: I'm sad it doesn't continue into the late game. 4:50: Match making is super important - wins don't feel good unless you've earned them! And losses feel rougher when they aren't your fault. I appreciate that they at least try to adjust the stats, even if the balance is there yet (hopefully). 5:48: The more games I play, the more a realize buying stuff from shops is just paying to skip content. 6:40: RNG giveth and taketh - can be really nice if you're in the mood for some grinding! 7:00: Not my favorite choice, I like being able to switch up my playstyle relatively quickly. At least they give you a fair bit of time in the early game to figure out which weapon style you like. 7:38: I hope they optimize it at some point! 7:49: Ah, I honestly didn't use it much, but liked the concept. Thanks for the correction! For the pay2win allocations: I've gone back and forth on my opinion on if pay to progress is as issue. I like that it let's people with less time keep up with their friends. I dislike that it makes people's grinds less outwardly impressive. I've played plenty of "pay2win" games, just fine as a free (or mostly free) player. I hope they fix the issues, but as long as you're still having fun - that's great! Thanks again for the awesome comment and have a great day!

Experimenting with different great to min max my dps is quite fun. The stories are great. Literally could just play the story lines and enjoy the game. Housing is fun. Very expensive. But fun. Great customisation options for outfits and i can spend hours trying to make my character look cool and unique. The skill morphs mean that most people are not carbon copies of everyone else. It's fun trying different combos. The ridiculously limited inventory space if you're not an eso plus member is a huge pain. A lot of my time goes in inventory management. A lot of things are tied to eso plus so if you're not a subscriber some zones and even vital gear and inventory space is locked to you. Overall i can recommend it. But don't expect a Skyrim like experience. It is an mmo at the end of the day.

    Overland has no difficulty at all, it is just story mode. In dungeons, arena and trials it is much more difficult and you will constantly die in the beginning . When you finished content on normal and proceed to veteran it is even more challenging. And please, don´t play in first person mode or you will not see many mechanics. To give you a perspective: to complete Hardmode trials even the most experienced players are usually progging for weeks to get their first clear. PvP is also very challenging if you are not just zerging. Check out the various videos about perfecting your skill rotation to maximise your damage and build. Charles is usually a reliable source for min-maxing DPS.

    ESO is still awesome in 2024! I was a hard core player back in the days on console. Recently I bought it for my PC, wow! graphic engine is old, but the graphics on 4k are still good enough, the game play in general was improved and there's so much more stuff to explore. This game can be nice for pve players, countless hours of gaming, plus if you feel like playing pvp, you can have that as well. It takes a lot of time to re-learn to build characters with the right build for what you want and also, level up skills and get the proper loot you need your your build. It is a nice game if you like the lore of Elder Scrolls. Skyrim is a classic! amazing game, if you have it on PC you can install amazing mods using Nexus that will make this game on-par with many modern games! Either one, prepare to spend 100-400 hours of gaming.

    Hey! GhostSpartan from the dev team here to give some thoughts on your video! :) Currently in development is a full on out of run stash system similar to games like Escape From Tarkov or Dark and Darker. This is a part of why the Loot Goblin perk is not a baseline feature, as in the near future you will be able to both take items stored away and craft items for you to take onto existing or fresh characters. There will be a level requirement to equip items from your stash so you won't be able to take powerful items onto a fresh or low floor character. I completely agree with your thoughts on ranged weapons. They're a tough thing to balance in our game and I am personally really unhappy with how they currently work. We have a full rework to them planned with a bowstring charge system, as well as an arrow/ammo system preventing you from really exclusively using a bow. My thought process is that bows should be more of a hybrid/support weapon. Using a melee weapon will be necessary to gain arrows, and we'll have talents in the new ranged tree that will incentivize you to swap to a melee weapon when you run out of arrows. A save-and-exit system is planned. When you save and exit your character will not extract, but your character will be saved. If you choose to play that character again there will be certain restrictions like not being able to join another game/run, starting on the same floor with the same generation, etc. We are still sorting out the logistics on how this will work with multiplayer lobbies. We are discussing the possibility of adding a character floor boost you can earn by completing tasks once we add the stash system. The game is designed so runs are long, we want you to feel like your high floor characters have gone through a journey, but I don't feel that we've done a great job of this just yet. I hope this helped shine some light on what we have going on in our development of the game regarding your comments and concerns! Ultimately we are a 2 person team, and can only work so fast. We have a lot planned and don't plan on stopping updates any time soon! Currently, we are deep into working on the 3rd boss and biome and we're super excited to see the communities reaction with this biome as we're really working hard to make it feel more unique and different from the previous two! Thank you for checking out our game, and taking the time to make a high quality video about it, we're glad to hear you enjoyed what you've played and I hope if you play it again in the future you'll enjoy that as well!

      Hello! Thanks for working so hard on making this game and for watching and seriously commenting on my video! I think a stash system for the game would be great - would totally fix my concern of not having early weapons. Range weapons are notoriously hard to balance in games with melee weapons. I think an ammo system that rewards you for melee - kind of like chainsaw glory kills in Doom Eternal - would incentivize aggressive play (making for more heart pounding action than plinking away with ranged weapons.) The save and exit system sounds like a perfect fix for single player! You nailed the feeling of reaching a high floor being a journey - my first deep run was really rewarding. I hope you find a good way of making additional runs have that same feeling! Maybe as you add more rooms/events they will feel more varied. Also, having the stash reducing the number of weaponless runs would be likely help too! Again - thanks for putting some much work into this game - I love seeing devs that clearly love the game they are making. Keep being awesome and have a great day!

    Most of your critics are valid, a small tutorial would be nice, specially for combat but here is the thing... you felt overwhelmed by "choose a server", and you didnt even thought about pressing "1", the key most used since the early 2000s to draw a weapon just to then fiddle with the most basic rpg inventory system. I feel like at some points this game is not intuitive at all, but i feel like you might be a bit more clueless than the average person, i dont want to be mean, this is a serious concern

Here's the general idea behind talking about small issues (copied from another one of my comments): "While I agree many of the issues are small for an experienced gamer, small issues are important for new players. If you remember the yellow paint debate, its the same principle - every moment a player doesn't know what they are supposed to be doing is a moment they might quit. Starting a game off with a bunch of these ones, even if small, will bleed players. I want this game to maintain a good player base, hence calling out small things." Have a great day!

    The game could definitely use some sort of tutorial, especially in regards to utilizing the Squire, but if you're not checking key binds when starting a new game that's on you. Some tips: Use crouch jump to get on top of barrels and other parts of the environment You move faster strafing left or right than you do walking backwards. Use this to avoid enemies better Some enemy attacks can be dodged by crouching and looking straight up or down

      Thanks for the feedback! I don't really agree on expecting new players to start games by checking key binds. Generally, the more new players have to menu before getting to play the actual game, the more likely they are to leave. I normally do my rebinding after a few minutes of getting a feel for the game. I love the tips! Getting on top of the environment is so useful! The animation from dodging by looking straight up and down while crouching is hilarious! Will definitely keep in mind the left/right strafing. Have a great day!

    Server region is common terminology used in a whole variety of games. In game maps are hardly ever called regions. The warning is something that if you took the time to read, youd understand. A stash, is also known as an inventory, where one could presume your loadout to be set. You missing how to pull out your weapon is because you are apparently unfamiliar with the most common buttons used to equip weapons in video games, and also missed the equipment buttons at the bottom that tell you what button is for what weapon. The first two minutes of your video is nitpicking.

    honestly the game is very fun but I can't justify spending 40 bucks on a game that's moving so slowly on developement with this theme the playerbase will die within the next 3 months guaranteed, it's just the way that these looter survival games go if they can't keep up with content so to charge a premium price point when you'll maybe get a dozen hours out of it just isn't a good buy unless you work from home or don't work and you can drop 8 hours a day on it in which case, yeah totally worth the 40 bucks for how many hours you'll be able to dump into it.... but if you don't work you won't be able to afford 40 bucks so.... it's just a bad model they should make the base game 5-10 bucks(or cheaper) and then offer an array of cosmetics to make their money, this would not only make more profit(as shown in other similar games) but it would allow them to give the false sense of game content by releasing skin variants which are incredibly easy to produce in comparison to actual game content EDIT: I have been called a retard and told the game is currently free to play so I guess I am the retard? idk

      A dozen hours? Some of us already have hundreds. These extraction-looters are meant to be played for literal hundreds and hundreds of hours if you want to learn them inside and out and kill all the bosses/start accessing the really good loot. It's also got a free to play version. It's almost 2 years old now, the playerbase has been as low as 2000 players and as many as 60000. Your opinion reads as someone who hasn't played anywhere near enough of the genre,.

    • @JohanJolos
      @JohanJolos 3 месяца назад

      @@SmokingBatYT the playbase fades quickly over the course of just 2-3 months for most games like this tbh, the odds of most of the early access games that release aren't good tbh with that in mind, if you have a full time job you aren't really able to put in much time to game per day, over the course of 2-3 months(when most early access games die) how many hours can you really put in? Ideally you can put in hundreds, hell in Rust I've put in a few thousand but most pvp focused full loot games just don't last long sadly, a new thing comes out and peoples attention gets pulled away playerbase picking back up was likely because of their move to free to play, which brings in more people for obvious reasons which is why my opinion on the thing changed I had an opinion, I learned new things, I changed my opinion

    To be fair it's pretty standard in a lot of first person games for it to be a 1-9 hotbar system, and your items are also numbered in the inventory. • @rellgarra6918
      @rellgarra6918 3 месяца назад
