Collector of all things old and new. I love the old school look as well as the modern look of things. Don't over bougie your stuff, it looks stupid. That's my hot take.
Pioneer Arms AK-47 Sporter
So we have two Pioneer Arms AK sporter rifles and I'm taking a chance on this lol. Yes with a cast trunnion I'm ok with these rifles.......for now. All could change in the future but I'm keeping an open mind on this issue. I hope you all have been doing well and I want to thank you all for the continued support of the channel. More content to follow in the future.

Converting 30-06 Brass to 7.7 Japanese Brass
Mine has a cast trunnion. I have around 3000 rounds of steel case ammo through it without a problem and to me normal wear of 3000 rounds of ammo. I do keep it clean and lubed. I have no complaints
Still running good???
Still running great!
He makes the M-1 look enormous.
Dirt cheap 😂😭 u mean 2 for $30
I been getting them locally 5 for $30 🤷♂️
I have the ptr91 pdwr in 308. It’s a beast
How do you like the ACOG on the malc, I was thinking on doing the same for mine?
I liked it for a little bit, I actually ended up selling the my CETME and I put those optics on my new AR gulf war clone build. I like the optics a lot. Very user friendly, affordable, and very simple.
Great rifle. Running aces
Have you tried any light bullets in the 123-125 grain range?
I have not actually, I’m a fan of the heavier stuff. Before I stop reloading, I was using the D-166 projectiles for my M39.
I bought a BFT AK-47 2500 round later shooting amazing extremely accurate out of the box best AK for under $1,000 I paid $699 for it!!!
As far as a no go gauge the lee case trimmer should make a good go/no go gauge if it trims it was long if it does not trim it is good to go.
Beautiful Rifle
Thank you, unfortunately I longer have it though
Bet the charging handle can be a btch with that scope
Nice rifle did you change any parts to make it not lock on open? I have a bnz42 very similar also with replacement stock! Good video thanks!
Make 8mm out of 3006
You moved out of California ??
Big Sky country now
@@MontanaGunGuy , Good for you.........be well.
yeahhhh reliefed 😌
Is it recommended to use the old corrosive Mauser rounds when reloading?
スローにする必要はない
Are you using original 303 (WW2 and earlier) or new cartridges?
Greek Surplus brass from the late 1960s
So just purchased one of these … can anyone tell me what version of AKs these are compatible with ? Yugos Romanians etc.
They’ll work with any mag as long as it’s not a bolt hold open mag
And what about furniture …. Sorry poking your brain a bit lol
no worries, so as far as furniture; to my knowledge the only kind that wouldn't work would be the yugo stuff but I'm not exactly sure. I've never tried it
It’s 6 years later, but I have a 99 my dad bought back and just picked a fixer upper at a gun show
Oh nice! That will be fun to fix up
Hey, i reload too and bought rcbs kit for my 8x57, it kinda stuck when i pull the resizer out of the case, is it normal from your experience?
The RCBS dies can be a little finicky at first, just make sure to use case lube around the opening of the case as well to ensure the case does not get stuck in the die
Better than overrated FAL
100%, cheaper too
Es magnífica
Love my hk sp5. The roller lock system is much smoother than an ar15.
Hey! Where did you get the reloads? Did you use commercial loads or something less powerful?
I have one and four dozen magazines. great rifle
Sounds like a good elk and deer gun
Do you reload 7.5x55?
I used to but not anymore more, since I’ve moved to Montana I’ve stop reloading entirely
Underrated channel keep it up
I appreciate it, thank you!
I just bought a Finnish M28 and it's barrel diameter is only .308 So now I need to learn to reload
Great pick up! Id say use the 168 Sierra Matchkings, that should do the trick
@@MontanaGunGuy Hmm my gunsmith / FFL slugged the barrel and one slug that was about .308 showed some rifling. He tried a larger weight and got about .310 But he couldn't get it to chamber a spent cartridge so there may be a problem
Love my K-31! So glad I was able to pick one up
I own a bunch of Pioneer Arms rifles. They are built very well and have zero issues .
I’m looking to get at least two more in the future, one with a forged trunnion and one with an under fold stock
@@MontanaGunGuy I just picked up a pair of the forged blems with wood furniture and a cast underfolder blem in wood at Classic Firearms. I cannot find the blems on the rifles and could honestly care less if I did . The price point is outstanding.
I couldn't agree more !
Imagine NOT using charger clips despite having the choice too 😂 Gotta flex on the boomers and zoomers on the range somehow
Most boomers don’t lol, it’s pretty interesting to see
@@MontanaGunGuy i've always noticed that at my range as well 🤔 Very strange indeed
idk maybe they know something we don't? lol
@@MontanaGunGuy Must be the arthritis stopping them 😂
That may be true but when you ask them about that Enfield Lee rifle they have that's chambered in .308 they say its the best rifle from South America and better than a mauser lol
I use imr4895 with a 198 gr fmj and also a 200 rnsp. 43.5 gr and it works well in all my k98 and both the LSR and high Turret.
That's awesome, I unfortunately don't reload anymore. I kinda miss it
@@MontanaGunGuy ain’t no need to miss it buddy. Reach under the bench blow off the cob webs and get after it!
I use 50 gr of H4350 with a 196 gr JSP @ 2530 fps and 198 gr FMJBT going 2480 fps out of my 98k.
The ping when you're on crak cokkaine:
It makes you feel good 🤪
Try a 44 Grain charge with 4895! group should tighten up
That’s exactly what I did about a year later, it worked great!
I too enjoy loading stripper clips so I can load my magazine to load my gun.
Isn't it great? Satisfying and much easier
@@MontanaGunGuy ...no
why not redo the video when u fail
I'll just keep it and have everyone else enjoy :) thanks for the view
@@MontanaGunGuy it was simply feedback to make it more satisfying
Don’t feel bad, my stripper clips don’t load smoothly either. The British really did us gun collectors a disservice leaving rims on the cases and making have such a tapered shape!
They never feed smoothly lol, anything charger clippers designed for rimmed cartridges will general have this issue, 7.62x54R on occasion will too
Imr4895 😊
Pretty good video and nice rifle. I've got an original 1942 BCD Gustloff Werke. I've loaded IMR 4895 in my Turkish sporter but, not in the German K98.
Thank you, it shoots great and is very beautiful and I’m glad I own one
Haha, you're right about us "old" guys that happen to also be AKM guys hoarding 7.62x39mm ammo. I have well more than 2000 rounds of it, mostly Red Army Standard, Silver Bear, and Wolf, plus some Privi Partizan that I paid way too much money for on the stash. Y'all should move from CA and join us in VA ( about the most gun-friendly State ). I actually checked out a Pioneer AKM with plastic furniture and an underfolder stock. It was $700 price tag, guy said about $800 with taxes, etc... For that, I can get my most desired AKM ( because I really need a third, haha ), the Zastava ZPAP M70. Have you noticed mag-fitment issues with Pioneer AKs? The one I looked at was really hard to get polymer mags into the mag well
Hey there, I have noticed issues as far as mag fitting. It’s a little tight on some but other click in like butter. Other than that no issues thus far with anything mechanical
@@MontanaGunGuy That's standard with most AKs . There are different mag port tolerances . Very few AKs will take every mag known to mankind . Find it's proper food and feed it according. Sometimes just the height of the mag release alone can affect how the mag fits .Usually if a magazine will lock properly , whether tight or loose it will run fine .
Can't find .323 smk anywhere
We can all thank China for that
@@MontanaGunGuy it seems like other countries are getting most 8mm components. I can find it on the Canadian and British internet but not US. Seems like it's just not popular enough here.
@@macy725 this is true, 8mm Mauser is a view popular hunting round in both Europe and Canada, while in the US there is more variety to pick from
How to reload it? Can you show step by step?
Do you still feel AK ammo is cheap to buy so not going to reload it?
Absolutely it is, components are impossible to find for 7.62x39 anyway
I wouldn’t trust these guns. Not only is their manufacturing process incorrect but they reuse parts from returned AKs. If they warranty you (which they probably won’t and their lifetime guarantee is worthless) they take the malfunctioning gun, tear it down, reuse the parts on new guns. They use pot metal for the trunnions, bolt, bolt carrier. The locking lugs and ejectors are not heat treated correctly either. This company only care about making money.
I've had no issues so far and either has many owners in this series of rifles. True this company has had issues in the past but as have many other companies even in the US and have had issues or continue to have issues and still have a loyal fan base with the interest of only making money and attempting to keep the name around.
Any links to that wood furniture that will fit my pioneer arms ak47 sportster thanks
Apex if they have anything left
