Not Franky being the one to reveal the mystery of Merry's Klabautermann spirit that was set up way back in Skypeia. I absolutely adore how these characters are written. Remember we went from deciding who we wanted as a shipwright between Kaku and Lucci to now this? 😅 So excited to see you guys in the next batch of episodes

I have an Aunt, lets just say she's kooky. She loves her Car so much that its literally sinking into the driveway. She refers to the car like its a person more so then an object. So whenever I watch these episode, I relate Usopp's situation to my Aunts.

Good analysis on Usopp, it's not as simple as some people would like to make it. There are still far too many people who hate Usopp for not being like the rest of the crew, without realizing that that's exactly why he hates himself.

There is an additional layer to Usopp's mutiny. Remember that in his own faulty view and logic, he is the weak link. He equates "abandoning Merry at the first real hardship", as a redflag and telltale sign of his own future. He thinks that because he is the useless member of the crew, should the situation warrant it they'll cut him loose. And Luffy's outburst in anger, when he was almost about to kick him out, before Sanji interrupted him, reinforce him in his delusion.

I understand your points on how the friendship should not be ruined cz of Merry..in that universe, it makes sense due to all the things Usopp was going through..that u all picked up on.. there's a good comment I remember..if any of us was in OnePiece..there's a chance we could be Usopp..a realist..forcing himself to be brave..Isekai'd in this universe.. and with all those powerhouses around, imposter syndrome will kick in..and to see such a miracle with Merry, no one believing the words, the quarrel will happen..and we might opt for mutiny. Luffy did not handle the case pretty good too right... now how does this resolve is another thing, but things like these need to happen..its life..fiction or real.

The Merry isn't the actual reason for Usopp leaving, have you guys already forgotten or do you just not know

The Klabautermann is a rl sailors legend from north Europe. I like that it explains a bit more why Usopp saw the Merry exactly as any other crewmember, more than the rest of the Strawhats who also still loved the ship. Though his fight with Luffy was far from being just about that, he had been doubting his place and "worth" in the crew for a long time, and the whole situation with the lost money and the assessment of the Merry was his breaking point, all his insecurities came out in the open full force.

Who would have thought at the beginning that the big villains from this arc weren't going to be the Franky family, but some of the nice Galley la company employees? Also that pigeon with fire reflected in his eyes was so cool lol

Y’all need to rewatch that whole scene with usopp and luffy again because usopp didn’t leave the crew Just for the ship. He felt like a burden to them aswell

One of the most heartbreaking moments in the arc. The fact that Kaku said that his assessment was accurate. CP9 might be a bunch of government dogs but they took their undercover job seriously. They wouldn't be world renowned shipwrights if they didn't know what they were doing.

Personally I think that Usopp's thinking he is just dragging the crew down is his biggest thoughts. If you go and think that for yourself, about yourself for a long time it will surely have a negative impact. I guess feeling like you don't belong. Being in a band for example. If I where a bit younger and in a band I think I would question if I was of use to the others. I think I'm over stuff like that now tho, and just try to do my best whenever.

Yeah, after we learn Usopp witnessed Merry's spirit, his reaction that led up to the duel makes a lot of sense. He saw Merry as a crewmate with its own soul and consciousness. It becomes a lot harder to let her go if she's not just an inanimate object. From his POV he was in a way the only StrawHat fighting for one of their own. Yeah, Usopp did say that he was aware Merry couldn't sail anymore. He knows he was wrong at some level. Luffy and Franky were correct when they said that even if they love Merry as much as any of the crewmates, a ship is a ship. And yet he couldn't bring himself to stop taking care of Merry in her final moments. Maybe he was reminded of his sick mother. Maybe he does respect his father and at the same time he resents him a little for leaving. Many things can be true at the same time. Different people in similar situations make different decisions all the time. Some are more logical, and some are more emotional. Idk, for example, some people refuse medical treatment if it goes against their beliefs. Is that wrong? Some people refuse financial help because of their pride. Is that valid? Who's to say? Usopp has a big heart, don't be too hard on him lol

I would love to see Jin woo as an anti hero. As long as the season doesn't consist of trying to convert him back to full "good guy".

Fun fact that the anime didn’t really clarify. When Jinwoo Arise a shadow, the shadow are considerably nerfed from their original power level. Assuming Jinwoo is saying the current shadow form of Igris is possibly stronger (which I think he’s referring to the living version he actually fought) this Shadow Igris is still insanely powerful at a lowered Knight Level 7.

to be fair, Zoro was suspicious of Robin from the start for a good reason. after all, she was with Crocodile when she introduced herself to Luffy and the gang. that being said, he has reasonably warmed up to her since then, he even caught her when Eneru struck her down. as for now, Zoro is doing his duty as First Mate of the Straw Hat Pirates, and helping to keep everyone's heads mentally above water, amidst the inner turmoil of the group.

Been a while now, no one brought this up.. let me bring a minor detail that was missed...your question on all of this being coincidence was good..Robin meeting the masked guy at the beginning of it kickstarted it all..but it is not entirely coincidental. Aokiji is the key...he came to meet Robin remember? and he mentioned, I will atleast report this to the HQ. So, CP9 were ready for Robin to reach Water 7, and decided to pull this apparent assassin plan, and blame the Strawhats. Pluton blueprint was their main goal, they could have simply killed Iceberg someday or another, but Robin just happened to be within reach.. no need to make it smooth or shadowey, the culprit way is better. To keep Strawhats on the island, by lying on Merry is a good thought ngl, them being Mission oriented..

I love how Oda gave Kaku a giant skull head with no nose to hide his identity, no other way to cover his long square nose lmao if you go back to when Robin was talking to some mysterious guys in the dark it's now obvious the one talking was Lucci, his eyes are recognizable, also the way he fought with his hands was the same as the masked guy. But since he never spoke by himself till that moment and the galley la workers all seemed very loyal it's hard to notice, it was a really nice twist.
