in high school i thought i would be partying and being dumb at 21. but at 21 i put my kid to bed and prayed the rosary. i drank once on my birthday but that was it. currently preparing for the next kid to arrive in a few months. god is funny

i need advice with how to do bible studying as I use the SOAP method but while reading the book of John, I don't find this method effectively so because of this, I don't feel like my bible studying sessions are effective. So, could anyone please give me any tips or methods with bible studying because I really want to get closer to God and make sure that I understand his Word.
I had the exact same problem for many, many years. The Hebrew word for Father is Abba. It wasn't until I went to the secret place alone with our Heavenly Father, our Abba, our Papa. Somewhere where it was just God and I in deep prayer, and I ask HIM personally if He would teach me how to study His Word through the Spirit. I cried to Him, longing to know Him more and more. We tend to think that because we can't see God in the flesh right at this moment that He's not here even though He never leaves us, and He's always right here. How can He teach us how to study the Bible? If you truly believe God is a revealer of mysteries and a rewarder of those who seek Him diligently, can rest assured His Holy Spirit that was sealed in you the day you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and HE will guide you into ALL truth. All you simply have to do is pray for God to teach you and then trust in Him that He will. I started watching other brothers and sisters Bible studies on RUclips and that was an immense help. We are in a spiritual battle from hell and our weapon is God's Word. The sword of the Spirit, sharper than any two edged sword, it is alive, and God speaks to us through it. I have a love of cartoons😂😅 and I am not afraid to admit that the Lord has used children's Bible animation at times to draw me into different Bible stories I had previously never taken an interest in which would intrigue my curiosity and I'd go find it in scripture and before I knew it I'd be enthralled in the Word, taking notes, finding fellow brothers and sisters studies on it as well. If I didn't know what to study, I would ask God what He wanted me to study and sure enough certain scripture will come across my line of sight over and over again and I'll know that's where He wants me to dive into next and He will show me things in scripture that will apply to things that have happened in the past that are parallel to what is happening in present day in real time!!🤯🤯🤯 I hope this all made sense, and I hope even more that this helps you go deeper with Abba, and I will be praying for you as well. We have such a Good Father, He loves us so much, we are so precious to Him. Ask Him to take you by the hand and walk with you through His Word, and He will give you this desire that is in your heart!!!❤ Maranatha, sweet friend!!!!🕊😊
Just know that the Lord is in control, you do not have to stress it you just have to take it as it is and do His will but don't do it on your strength! You do not have to rush anything just sit back and be there with Jesus let Him do the work and do His will.

I was able to get to know God more, and I went to a camp during summer, and I got saved there. Accepted Jesus Christ as my savior, I technically am living for Christ fully now, cut off all my secular music (that was a huge problem for me), and am getting baptized soon!
