Thank you for all your videos! I'm taking notes. Question - how do I choose the most important vocabulary to pre-teach in a unit? I teach 9-12th gr social studies in special education resource rooms. I have a hard time because kids have missed a lot of tier 2 vocabulary... how can I teach tier 1 if I can't get to tier 2?

If you don't have a video already, would love a video about how to plan for a history course. What to prioritize, how to go from the standards to finding the best, most important vocabulary for them to learn...

Love your history teacher videos. This will be my 2nd year teaching history resource in HS for students with mild-mod special needs. Last year I felt I was doing too much to help the students learn. I spent hours and full nights making engaging slideshows with photos. I felt like a circus performer in front of them sometimes. I insisted on providing current relevant examples and videos. But, you know, it all helped actually. Your video about direct instruction gave me some validation about that. Looking forward to watching your video on activating background knowledge because for some students with special needs, that's very easy. For some, especially who don't have a lot of social experiences, it's not. Thank you for all your content.

I am searching more techniques for my newcomer and SLIFE high school students.
