Hello KyCoke. Thanks for your interest! Yes, these bears are somewhat larger due to feeding on fish rather than grasses and small game. Check out Kodiak Island brown bears, largest in the world.

This was a photo safari into the wild of Katmai Preserve, Alaska. We saw 40 or so brown bears. What a trip!
Are these the people we heard about?

Hello Market. We saw over 40 brown bears stocking up for the winter hibernation. This ol' boy was fighting for every fish other bears would catch. Really beat up. Happy he was on the other side of the creek. Thanks for watching.

Holly Crap that was close. The fool people should never venture that close. Even if by accident, say on a trail. A trail encounter can happen spontaneously, due to surrounding foliage, blind corners, noise of running water, and numerous other issues. FYI I would say they were very lucky, that encounter played out the way it did. I bet thier underware was soiled after that, scare. IT Serves Them Right.

Hi George. It was a thrill to fly a float plane deep into the interior of Katmai, Alaska. We were able to watch over 40 bears stock up on fish for their winter hibernation.
