The Hidden Outdoors
Добавлен 17 фев 2022
I created this channel to provide honest reviews of products, new gear, and gear hacks. After spending endless hours researching products searching for the perfect gear to fit my needs. I realized it's hard to find the perfect product. Everyone's needs or what they want is different. My goal is to outline the pros and cons of each piece of gear so you can decide what will work best for you and save you time researching products. I'll also share my outdoor adventures, lessons learned, hunts, and things I'll do to become a better outdoorsman. I Appreciate you checking out my channel and hope you'll subscribe to help my channel grow. As it grows, I'll be able to provide better reviews and help more people. Thanks for watching and stay hidden!
PSE MACH 33 VS MACH 30| BOW TEST
In this video I compare the PSE Mach 33 vs the Mach 30. Both are great bows but there can only be one winner. I give my opinion on each bow and go over bow speeds. I hope this video will help you if you are between these two bows. I'll be comparing the winner to a couple of the new bows that came out this year.
Please comment on which bows you would like to see the winner compared to.

In this video I show you how to adjust and level your 3rd axis properly. I show you how adjusting it can make you miss left or right. It's extremly important at extreme angles and distance. This is the proper way to sight it in for yourself. The reason to sight it in this way is it involves your hand torque.

I'd like to see the pse mach 33 vs the hoyt rx-9 ultra
@@Dyslexic_Santa I’ll definitely try one of the Hoyt carbon bows. Haven’t decided on which one yet. They look pretty good.
Have a look at the Darton Sequel 33 ST2. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with it. I shot PSE religiously for over 30yrs until I shot the sequel.
@@novascotiapsearcher4497 I’m definitely going to test one of them. That bow has some great features as well. Glad to hear you liked it.
ever do an update on these?
@@KevinKayotic I haven’t yet. I can’t say they worked any better than other calls out there. I will say I’m not a huge fan of the rattle bag.
Lift 29.5”🤷♂️🇺🇸🏹🔥👁️🔥
Great bow! I just couldn’t shoot it as well as the Mach 30.
I have 2 FHF bino harness, an original one and a Pro-M. Just got a Kuiu one today and set things op on it. That front pocket is about like the front pocket on the original fhf, maybe good for small things but not very accessible. I put chapstick and maybe a call or 2 in it. Kuiu harness is comfortable for sure but it's not easy to get in and out of, FHF way easier. If you have acessory pouches on either side of the Kuiu you can't easily unclip them and one of them seems to be impossible to snug up by pulling the strap. Maybe flipping the buckle over may allow easier adjustments. Increased usage will maybe change my opinion. I pull the FHF over my head and tighten the side straps. Got the Kuiu from the outlet for a good price so not going to complain too much. nothing is perfect in life.
@@kairos_01-d5d it’s tough to find a perfect one that’s for sure. They all have pros and cons. I’m still searching. Thankfully there’s plenty of great options out there.
But why shooting uphill or down hill is it moving left or right of aiming point?
As you aim uphill or downhill your bow angles towards or away from you. This axis helps it keep perpendicular to your line of sight. It also takes into account if you torque your bow it’ll correct the sight for how your torquing it. Hard to answer it without showing it.
@ thanks. I hear people talk about uphill/downhill and 3rd access. But it never made sense to me why that would cause L/R misses.
@ I was hoping by moving the 3rd axis all the way in and out to show how it does change left and right impact. Tough to really show it without extreme angles up and down hill.
I would pick the 33 even though I like the color of the 30 better
I agree with color as well. Can’t go wrong with either one!
The KUIU website says the L size fits 6.75” tall and smaller binos. The 12x50 binos I have are 6.6” per mfr, but not sure they’ll fit. I also have 10x42’s that I’m hoping to fit in the same harness. Would you go L or XL? Thanks. Subscribed. Great channel.
I personally would go with the large. They should fit from measuring mine. Plus you can use it for both. Thank you for subscribing! I really appreciate it!

@@juliusjames5577 that’s one I’m definitely interested in!

@@vitalinvader514 I will do that! Thank you!
@ hopefully you don’t have to wait too long for it!
How are you liking the Pruf?
I really like it. Way better than the Arxos. There’s a couple of new sights I’m going to be reviewing. Not sure if it’ll be the one I’m running this year or not. So far it’s the one I’ll be using.
@ I’m debating between this and the Driver. Not sure if I’ll ever see a Driver though.
@ exact same here. Ordered the driver last November. Still waiting for it.
I'd like to see you do a Mach 30 vs Nock 30 😁👍 Good video!
I would like to but the Nock 30 is a little longer draw so it won’t fit me unfortunately.
So if you tie it in at 20 and it's off at, say 60 then wouldn't it be off if you tie it in at 50 then moved up to 20???
@@nxtpymtoffroad yeah it will be off a little at 20 if you tie it in at 50 or 60. It’s not going to be off nearly as bad as if you tie in at 20 then go to 60 yards. If your not sliding past 60 yards it’s not as big of a deal but if your shooting out to 100 yards and tied in at 20 your peep will be way off. It’s just to minimize how far off it is if you’ll be shooting longer distances.
@thehiddenoutdoors6535 ok thanks. I normally don't shoot past 70yds max
I built one like this this summer. I found a good price on the mats on amazon. Only issue is getting them to meet in the middle. Can’t get it perfect like yours.
@@jpjr6757 I know I had to pay attention to make sure I cut them right so they would lock together. Holding together pretty well?
I know you own both, which one is your favorite?
@@juliusjames5577 I honestly haven’t decided yet. I’ll post a video soon. I just need to do a little more long range shooting. If I was mainly tree stand hunting or hunting in general it is hard to beat the 30. It holds well and is easier to pack around.
I have the Mach 1 which is 32.5” ATA I just picked up a Mach 34 a few weeks ago and the Mach 34 does feel more stable. I’m really curious to get a Mach 30 because idk if the 34 just feels more stable because it’s physically more heavy (personally I don’t like heaver bows) because it’s a longer ata or because it’s a newer bow with wider limb pockets etc etc being an “upgraded version” of the older 32.5” ata Mach 1. But I would like to get a Mach 30 to see if the updated features are actually performing better or not.
@ I haven’t shot the Mach 34. I was surprised by how well the Mach 30 holds. I usually don’t like short ATA bows. The Mach 33 does feel a little more stable but I need to do some more shooting between the two to see how much difference there is.
I just bought the Mach 33. I was dead set on the Mathews lift x 33 till I shot the Mach 30 and then the 33. In fact I liked it so much better I payed the extra 500$ for the Pse carbon bow. I also shot Hoyt rx9 and I liked it but the Mach 33 just felt like I could shoot it well. I took it out to 100yds this evening and shot a 13” group. I’ve never shot that far before so was very impressed that I didn’t loose an arrow. I have 28.5” draw and am coming from my first bow, a Hoyt Torrex xt. I think I made the right decision (for me) on buying the machine 33.
*mach 33 - not machine
Any thoughts on the Flash Optics harness by Sitka?
@@cverschragen I personally haven’t tried it. Originally no one mentioned it so I didn’t know if it was that popular. Seemed a little bulky for me. If I do another one I’ll add it to the testing. Maybe someone on here can speak on their thoughts on it?

Do you know if spot Hogg offers a 2x power lense for the Boonie?
@@BostonMountainHunting2011 Yeah they do. The lens and scopes for the boonie are the same. So depending on which scope housing you have will determine the lens you will need.
@ ok thanks for the info!!
@ no problem!
I think the sight costs to much. If it was a little cheaper maybe you would be able to afford more than one arrow :)😊
I’d agree! The sight is definitely expensive. Most high end sights are expensive any more unfortunately. Most of my arrows are still set up with broadheads so I didn’t want to change them out haha.
@ ha ha. I get it. After I watched your video I thought, man I bet he walked 2 miles getting that sight set up. Thanks for posting it. I’m hoping to order for this season. Looks like a great sight
@ I got my steps in which was good because it was a little cold out. I really like this sight so far no issues. I’m waiting on my axcel driver sight. I think it’ll probably be between those two for me unless something else comes out.
On that Marsupial, do you like the No Mag version because it's better than the standard magnet version? Or is it just a matter of preference between magnets or no magnets? Any problems with the magnet version? I've got the Stone Glacier Skyline and don't love it because that harness is uncomfortable, it can be kinda janky to open and close one handed (whole harness wants to crawl up your chest sometimes), and the rangefinder pouch is way too tight for almost anything other than a $1500 Leica (which I don't have), so it's like a three-hand operation to get my "chubby" rangefinder out of there. I want to upgrade this year, but not sure if I should go with the new Stone Glacier or that Marsupial. I was keen on magnets, but now you've got me second guessing if they're good or bad.
I just mainly went with the no mag because of the no magnets. I think most people don’t have many issues with magnets. I just want to be on the safe side so like no magnets. They function about the same. Both easy one handed. The magnetic version might be a little easier. One thing too is the no mag does have a band by the side pockets. Sometimes that can make it a little tougher to get things in and out. Still works fine just a small thing you’ll notice. I personally think the marsupial is better than stone glacier. Wish stores had more so people could try everything on. Just tough to know without trying them.
I made one just like this with used carpet. Might have 40 bucks in it. Yours is better for outdoor use.
Is it tough to pull the arrows out?
@ usually not. Occasionally if not shooting level and arrow goes thru a layer instead of between.
The Spot Hog website does not list the Boonie...ideas?
I’m not sure why they don’t list it on their site. I bought mine at scheels. Lancaster archery sells them or a local pro shop should be able to get them as well.
We didn’t have it on the website due to the extreme backorder we were in all year this past year. It is on the website now and before the ata show shipping was only a few days out on Boonie orders. It may be closer to 2 weeks now that show orders have been piling in.
@ Thank you for answering this. Great sight and products!
Great feeling bow! Hate the color.
Not my favorite either. I think charcoal and black looks the best.
Only color they had in stock so had to get what I could so I’m not waiting several weeks.
Next video custom paint job by you!
@ that might not turn out well haha
The Option Canyon Pounder is far and away the best hunting sight on the market.
I’ll have to get one to try it out. I’ll add it to the next one. Probably be a new one out after I get it haha.
No Sitka?
@@BBQBOY76 In my previous video no one mentioned it so figured it wasn’t that popular. Personally looks a little bulky for me but if I do another video I’ll look at adding it.

I was making these with my dad in the 70;s when I was a young kid. We didn't have the resourses of today so I would go to the supermarkets and get cardboard boxes and cut them to size with a sheetrock knife. I shot the heck out of those targets for probably 10 plus years, probably more like 15-20 years lol. There werent many options for targets back then. Good stuff, hopefully the foam mats hold up, way easier than cutting cardboard into sheets. It's a good design
@@weldermike7017 Thank you! When I was younger the archery range I went to used telephone books. Just stacked them up and made a giant target out of them.
Nicey done on this target my friend. I was doing the math in my head when you popped up a good solid total cost, I was thinking close to 500 bucks and like you mentioned they are much more expensive to the pre made huge targets and that dont include shipping. my cost I was looking on amazon the mats, I think your right, I will swing my harbor frieght in the next few days and see if your store has them and how much they cost compared to amazon. the 4 pack they show online it probably more expensive than the 24 packs you referred to. @@juliusjames5577 I haven’t shot the lift x but had the lift 29.5 and 33. Compared to them I felt the Mach 33 is a lot smoother draw. To me it holds better as well. I shot the Mach 30 better than I shot the lift. I personally feel that the Mach 33 is a better bow for me. The lift x has some better upgrades as far as tuning and the new grips. @@thehiddenoutdoors6535 I use a horse stall mat as a back stop on my morell xxl bag. I definitely don’t recommend shooting into the horse stall mat. The arrow melts the mat and makes it nearly impossible to pull out. It works great for a backstop but as an actual target it’s way too thick. It will also destroy your arrows.
