Old Man In The Woods
США
Добавлен 21 ноя 2022
Home of the Dog Bowl Fire Pit, the Ultimate EDC Lighter, Crazy Matches and more. An Eagle Scout from days gone by, to an instructor and leader within the Royal Rangers program I have learned and taught boys and men camping skills and how to get things done out of doors.
No, I'm not the guy who is going to make videos of me camping in freezing weather, or hiking for miles to get to some remote wilderness survival scenario.
I am however the guy who has been there and done that and can teach you tips about how to do many things in the outdoors.
Subscribe and learn from the Old Man In The Woods.

Never over do it keep that patina! Polishing too much just ruins it ! Great job😊😊😊
Agreed.
You could have cleaned that handle a bit.
Stove looks pretty handy

David West is a fire bug! 😅
He is. without a doubt.
You so funny. That's cute
Why, thank you kindly.
This is what made RUclips great in the begining, real ideas from real people Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you so much for that kind comment!!
Amen
Amen
I left a comment earlier about your kit. Believe it or not I had a hard time finding the mini menthos. I finally found some and was wondering if you could tell me what diameter bayite ferro rod that you used. Thanks again I’m excited to put this kit together. The 893
Hold on and let me look. Mine are the 5/16" ones.
If that bad boy had some drop down windows for night time I'd be tempted to just stay a few days!😂
I need to build those!! This old shack I 12 years old now. Killed many deer from it.
hell yea brother
Thanks!!!
and a lot cheaper than those fancy spray cans, haha

Mighty fine eats! 👍
Hardly anything any better, anywhere, anytime.
Simple enough. Thank you for the video
Easy Peasy!!
I've never heard of lighting a match . I'm afraid might go boom lol
One must exercise caution!
I'm about to do a video about that.
Love WD-40, using for over 50 years. I also use vapor corrosion inhibitors, VCI-MAX in particular. Great stuff!
@@patricks2695 I t has saved me hours of work and money
Matches are nothing like they used to be. I remember when the said strike anywhere if you had any kind of rough surface, they would light.
@@Wish2liveN18thcentry me too.
Miss the old Ohio blue tips. Those new ones won’t even light by striking the outside of my old waterproof match bottle.
Yes, indeed. The Ohios were good stuff.
Sad but totally true. Happy new year.
Yes, and happy new year to you!
Wake up, America! Happy New Years friend
Happy new year buddy!
What a stupid video clip.
Thank you!
What's your point
Having fun with something that burns incredibly fast.
Bet you could make coffee on top
Indeed.
That's almost how long I've been alive, very cool. I hope my Swiss army knife holds up this long too
There is no reason it should not last that long. Thanks for the comment!
You have a soothing voice you should make a ASMR video about things like this

Good morning
@@Wish2liveN18thcentry good morning my friend
I am cleaning up my father’s tools after his passing for a year. An exactly the same nesting screwdriver is sitting among many screwdrivers. I remember I saw my father using it when I was a kid. It is a little heavier than the screwdrivers made nowadays but still smooth and comfortable to hold. The craved words “E.EDELMANN & CO. CHICAGO, U.S.A.” already became blurry. There is another line of words below which is unreadable “PA..S…ND”. I am curious what company it was so searched Google and RUclips. Thank you for posting the video. My father’s has one more screwdriver than the video shows, altogether 4 screwdrivers in the set. The smallest one is 1.25 inches long including the handle, cute and beautiful. This is one of the memorable things left by my father and I will treasure it forever no matter how much it values in the market.
Thank you for the wonderful comment!!!
That is adorable!! I'm so glad you took care of him 😊
Poor little things. They are so cute. Thanks for the kind comment.
You could also use a knife if u don't have a coat hanger
Indeed!
Have you ever considered voice acting? Youd be a natural
Yes, I have contemplated it. Perhaps someone will come along and hear me and represent me to a firm. I would love it.
would be helpful if showed how to season or keep it from splitting
I have a follow up video that shows that I used Walrus oil to season. The red oak soaks it up like there is no tomorrow. Some splitting is always going to happen.
Can I use a pine log to make a similar cutting board?
I would imagine you could. Some people will say no, but I say go for it and see what happens.
Choose a recommended cutting board wood
Red oak absorbs a lot of moisture. I’d be really worried about bacteria growth. Just my opinion.
Howdy. I have had no issues in almost two years. But, it never gets washed and I always use a plastic cutting sheet on top of it.
Hello friend. I have to make me more crazy matches. The do work well.
@@Wish2liveN18thcentry yessir

It works good and will heat a small space very well.

This guy should do audiobooks. His voice is so calming
@@Duolingobird82 you are not the first person to say that.
I received one of those knives and as soon as I took the plastic bag off of it and then unwrapped the handle from the gorilla tape they had on there it looked like just some black duct tape so I'm guessing gorilla The handle turned to dust now I'm trying to get the pin on the pommel out I got it part of the way I can't get it anymore I think I need a sledgehammer hahahah
I hope you have luck with that!
I haven't seen a strike anywhere match in 20 years.
I’ve got a couple of boxes. They are not as good as they used to be
