Good huntin'! :) You made a hard choice (what horse to sell) seem easy. Surprised at the choice, but admire your decisiveness. BTW, the searching of packs on horses is a bit of a pain, but I found I have to calm/pat them for at least three (sometimes four) "+" responses before they'll let me search safely. And then it seems like I have to do the same thing all over again for the pack on the other side bc they get ornery again. However, I have found a couple gold nuggets on a few horses, so sometimes you get lucky! Does take time for the calming, unfortunately. :-/ But, that's why they keep kicking you, just need to spend a little more time to make them friendlier. :) Good luck and hope you find some good stuff, without your ribs crackin'! Those Murfrees folk... they are the *creepiest* bunch! 3:10 when you race people who challenge you, it upgrades your horse for more speed. The only one I recommend stealing the horse from is the guy that punishes his horse when you defeat him.

In that empty fort you'll find snakes , diff birds , rats , racoons etc that you'll need to hunt for challenges

The legendary alligator doesn't respond until I think chapter 5 the legendary panther only spawns after you have finished all the hunter challenges whore, and that spawns like south of roads, by where the other Panthers spawn around in that area
