I absolutely disagree that Lehi was not talking about contraries. He did not refine his presentation to easily adapt to contraries because that instruction was given to sons who needed to be given the power to stand against temptation. However, there is about 30% of all people and their descendants who think that anything that is contrary to evil. And there are way too many people who think that contraries are not the same as opposition, of course, they think is all about evil. All too often, we forget that even in God's presence there will be two very clear contraries and all that goes with them. There will be a man and a woman.

And pride is an illusion....and takes up space. As we strip ourselves of the illusions, we make space for connections, or for hope. Hebrew word, one of them, for hope means cord, which for me means connection. I think of hope as connection, and as we get honest and clear out illusions/pride, we make room for connection. And we make that space for connection a safe place. Contention is likely an effort to maintain the illusions, as we often perceive them as protecting us from something. Its hard to let them go.

Im so glad she notes her life's work is to HELP people do this, because it's work, its an effort. I love that she notes Its physical. Illl had what we eat also affects our ability to manage our responses. I got all caffeine out of my life to help with this. Im working on healing fatty liver, as I can tell eating high oil and higher fat foods causes me to be less able to manage a trigger and not get upset. The liver filters all hormones, including our stress hormones. Eat clogging foods on an already clogged liver and struggle with excess cortisol. It takes a few years of consistently healthy eating to fully heal the liver,but it will. And a few days does make a difference in ability to handle stressors. I grew up in an environment where people flying off the handle was a daily occurence. Im doing everything I can to get this out of my life. Its a back and forth process. Especially if I make bad food choices.

It’s been my experience that all the laws are in favor of the contractor. First of all, because of the “American Rule”, the project owner has to cover all their own legal expenses, and cannot recover those expenses under contract law. A plaintiff could spend $50,000 on a $30,000 complaint, win a judgement, and then the contractor doesn’t have to pay or they can file bankruptcy. Add this to the fact that the project owners likely spent all their savings on the project, and has to fund the repairs, as well as fund a lawsuit! It’s nearly impossible to go after a contractor! Not only that, but the contractor gets free representation through his insurance. If the contractor does have legal fees, it’s tax deductible though the business, while the project owner has to pay income tax on every dime he spends for legal. I’d have liked you spent more time on the fraud and misrepresentation. In Tennessee, it allows the plaintiff to sue for attorneys fees and treble damages under the consumer protection laws, and it prevents the defendant from having their judgement discharged through bankruptcy. It can also result in licensing hearings and criminal charges. So the fraud is a very big deal.
