Common Issue On E-bikes and Solutions!
I dual use acoustic and electric bikes they serve different purposes and man it's not an either or thing it can be a yes and sort of proposition. Like I have an ebike for being a commuting bike for work and cargo but an acoustic for not rides. Both beloved by me.
I just re-aired my air.
I don't believe e-bikes, 'are cheating' per se, but something has happened and many people who are opponents of E-bikers subscribe to this theory. And that is, if you're using an e-bike to go from point a, to point b, {rather than} a car, that requires gasoline which is the mode of transportation for most people today, 2024, they think, you're trying to beat the system. And it's this way, that many people believe e-bikes 'are cheating.' Though I'm all for a work commuter 'speed hacking' his Haibike to increase his pedaling assistance, up to 24 mph instead of 20, I do not endorse 'e-bikes' that are basically an illegal minibike, on our roads. We've seen the problems this causes. My hope is, that these iffy modes transportation don't cast a spotlight on law abiding E-bikers who enjoy excellent health benefits, but do not contribute to carbon emission. What's cheating about that?
I saw a mokwheel scoria
Ive rode bikes for 55 years i bought an ebike a month ago, totaly love it ,great fun.Honestly could not care less what anyone else thinks about it.I just enjoy being on a bike.
@@GG-ml3vr love that! Keep riding my friend
If people made the electricy themselves instead of draining the world i wouldn't hate E-bikes at all. But if not, thats just like driving a car... nothing that this world needs
My 65mph silent wonder disagrees with this video.
You didn't mention the extensive waterproof certifications it meets and that it's ISO certified. Or the triple butted frame I think you're review was a little harsh
Great video though, glad I’m in before you blow up
“You don’t need any special tools” *immediately pulls out a slotted spanner wrench* 😂😂
But you don't *need* it, it just makes that quicker and easier. A standard crescent wrench should, I believe, work fine
I could care less about what acoustic riders say, I bought an E-bike for me not for anybody else, this one guy told me I was cheating, and I said, oh I'm sorry was it your money I spent or mine, he just kept his mouth shut after that.
For me it isn't cheating. I have really bad arthritis in my knees and I love riding bikes. So this is a good compromise that allows me to maintain some of my favorite activities.
Great point!
You can't cheat when there is no rules.
well said
I use an eBike throttle only for transportation not for exercise. I am incredibly underweight with a 17 BMI so I need to save all my calories and exercise with other means.
Love it
if your knee is out and you can't pedal your regular bike, then an e bike allows you to ride again, assisting your pedaling
it's not about feeling butthurt because a fully functional adult with no bike handling skills zooms past us, it's more about the entitled privilege of freeloading on the efforts of others, for years cyclists had been segregated by motor vehicles, bicycle activist had come a long way advocating and pushing local governments to build the infrastructure we have today to now have to share it with a new wave of motor vehicles. I'm not gonna call people with disabilities cheaters, I'm going to call them for what they are: handicapped. A handicap decal system needs to be implemented so that these adult power wheels can share the privilege of using infrastructure meant for real bicycles.
Calling those with ebikes entitled, freeloaders and handicapped makes you sound like an elitest snob. I'm sorry that you had to spend years, and pay all that money out of pocket to get bike lanes and multi-use trails built (sarcasm in case you don't get it). That tax money was paid by more non-riders than riders. I took up riding again several years ago. The assist of an ebike makes it possible for me (and many others) to enjoy long rides without feeling totally wasted. The assist doesn't mean that we are getting less exercise, in fact the opposite is true (backed by numerous studies). On most days, I ride 20-30 miles, using the lowest assist level, using the gearing as intended. Last Summer, I averaged 56 miles/day on a 700+ mile solo tour. I do ride a non-ebike as well, but only about half those distances. I do agree that those who ride without pedalling, using throttle only are a problem. However, there are some people that occasionally need to use the throttle on hills or in traffic. Personally, my two ebikes and one recumbent trike do not have throttles.
BTW, in most US states, Class 1 ebikes (no throttle, assist stops at 20 MPH), are allowed everywhere that regular bikes are. As for being dangerous to others, I've seen some on regular bikes doing well in excess of 20 MPH on multi-use paths posted at 15 MPH. It's not the technology, it's the person acting responsibly, and being courteous to others. I had one guy in spandex pass me on the right while I was stopped (on the far right side of the path) for a water break. He missed me by inches, and gave no notice that he was approaching from behind. I use a bell, and/or say "coming up on your right". A jerk is a jerk, no matter what he is riding.
@lazyrider9847 spandex is what David Lee Roth used to wear back when he had the body for it. Most geezers think we wear it for looks, but it's for functionality, I guess you wouldn't know when you've never pushed yourself in your life, and you've never broken a sweat 🫵🤡
@lazyrider9847 even if the infrastructure was paid with sales from girls out cookies it doesn't change the fact that the government doesn't move a finger if nobody says something about it(meaning I didn't pay for it but our efforts made a difference in case you didn't get it 🐒), you say I'm an elitist snob but what others think of me is none of my business(try it out). It is what it is, your long reply comes off as a cheap way to validate your lazy ways, as stated on your user name, at least you're honest about it. Try harder power wheels 🍼
@@colombiancyclist I was going to reply to your insults, but there is no point in feeding the troll. BTW, the name Lazy Rider is a pun on the movie title Easy Rider, since you didn't get it.
Transportation is about getting from point A to point B, not to jerk yourself off over how great you look in spandex and how sweaty you arrive at point B.
I've always found it funny that e-bikes are cheating, I'm commuting to work, how does one cheat that? If my primary purpose for the bicycle was for exercise sure, but it's my mode of transportation, you can't cheat that.
It never was about transportation for Craig. Craig only ever was in it so he can be holier than thou at motorists. But he can't do the same to e-bike users so that's why these kinds of people say cheating instead.
@@RP-dy5mu As I mentioned above, many studies show that we get as much or more exercise on ebikes, because we enjoy riding farther. I've lost several pounds, my blood pressure is down, and my heart health is excellent. When I was younger, I had a Schwin 10-speed, and rode it everywhere. The e-assist makes it possible for me to ride again, and farther, all the while enjoying the ride, instead of seeing it as a difficult workout. The bike snobs should mind their own business. One size does not fit all.
Don't be a Craig...
How about doing a review on bike locks for E-bike ,if you have access to them.
Nice really basic beginner video, but you didnt really cover the ebike specific stuff. What to do with the motor? how often to regrease the gears? when to swap bearings?

Love my Ramblas. I have beat the hell out of it over this summer. Side note, I really hope that you washed off the acidic pickle juice from the Rambler's beautiful hand-painted paint job
Like you reviews so far, what are your thoughts on the Euphree Stella falcon?
@@junyer55 have not seen it yet, but if I get my hands on one I’ll make a review
Thanks!
Any chance of doing the Ecell dual star anytime soon?
I can reach out!
This video is very helpful and easy to understand.
Good review. 1. The front fork is spring loaded. You can't add air to it. 2. The noise is likely from the battery cover. Others have said to put foam tape in it to tighten it down and dampen it a bit.
In my usage it's the wires inside the frame and a bit of crank noise which is very common for ebikes. Doesn't really bother me.
Ive heard good things about this bike. Just read the comment about Bulls....it also looks good (had never heard of it).
the bafang bbs sieries has throttle on mid drive (more like a conversion kit motor but still)
Fun fact in A LOT of expensive things, the Selling price is NOT always linked to the quality, but the additional marketing costs. I used to work as an Accountant for THE sole importer of Channel No 5 to 🇬🇧 from France. We bought the bottle for £3.50 & it was sold for £59.99 in Harrod's and £49.99 in Selfridge's. The same was true with all luxury items
thanks for this perspective
@@electricbikesupport3021 It's FACTS, NOT perspective
I think I will listen to customers and not competitors on where to buy.
Do as you please
I get that $400 is too cheap But you spend a little bit more, How much more?
Buy Senada and catch a sale, 500 bucks
You can find good deals on bikes, but as a base MSRP i dont carry much under $1000
Good video but pls lower your exposure a little. We'll see the bikes better that way!
You video is overexposed, otherwise good tips.
My biggest problem with the Ramblas is price. For not much more, you can get a full suspension Bosch powered emtb from bulls.
I'm in the market for a "backup" (2nd bike). I have a Specialized Turbo Vado SL EQ 5.0 but while excellent it is a way overpriced brand. I had never heard of Bulls until I read your post. Do you own one? I like the idea of having a Bosch mid-drive.
@ It’s a German brand that primarily sells in the US for some reason. I don’t own one, but have ridden one. Uses fairly well known parts for everything.
Full suspension is not everything, and this hard tail with the 100nm motor climbs like a mountain goat. It's the rider at the end of the day not the bike after all.
@sd5458 Except when put on a dyno it measured 20lb ft of torque which is 27nm. ruclips.net/user/shortsO71oLvOwK1g?si=CpNXFJviLes8-N3M

I just came across your site .ok, so far, I have to go back and check some of your other reviews. What do you think of Euphree Stella Falcon, yeah, or Nay?
What is the crank length?
No sé pone aceite
I've had my ramblas for about 6 mos, I don't experience the rattle that otherwise have commented on, also you can customize the power settings individually to suit your needs with the Ramblas ap. The fork doesn.t have much adjustability but I do like riding my Ramblas here in the CO rockies.
Greatly appreciate the honest - and, importantly, different! - take than the usual spec rundown without the breakdown. Feels more insightful. Hope you keep these reviews coming!
Just bought the Aima Santa Monica. All three Aima models are high quality. The Santa Monica worked best for my daily urban ride. Just added a KINEKT bike suspension seat-post, now it feels like a full suspension bike.
best explanation I have seen. Simple and to the point
This takes a new twist on ebike reviews. I really like the additional insight that this gives me as a rider
@@halhallmark5970 thank you!
😂😂😂
From the first to the fifth speed, when you turn it on, you go with the same force, you can't adjust it any less. They don't let you do anything else on this bike. It's terrible.
