I've been up this hill five times now and each time it's so foggy that I can't see a thing. It's like Rockstar doesn't want us to hunt that damn moose. As much as I love the game, things like this annoy me. They could have implemented a few more spawn points in the game.

Dude. Thank you. I tried doing this after hammering Cairn lake and it wasnt working. Even though 5i was camping overnight and doing save/loads I was noticing that my footprints were still in the snow. I fast traveled to rhodes and did a few side things over there. Then slept for like 1 week. I would sleep as long as I could until it wouldnt let me sleep. Then I would fast travel somewhere else and repeat until it was around a week later. I then fast traveled to colter around 11 or 12. When i got to the point where he shows, there was no moose there I turned around for 8 seconds and turned back and it wasn't there. Then I did it again and BOOM 3 stars western bull moose. My binoculars weren't letting me study it. I went to put on cover scent and accidentally put down potent herbivore bait and all of a sudden it came running over right to me. I quickly put on cover scent and walked up the hill slightly. Once he was in position I studied him and then took aim with a nice headshot. Off to the trapper I go!!

If it doesn't work for you, I know this sounds stupid, but I swear going in first person made it spawn almost everytime regardless of the time of day for me. (occasionally a grey wolf or 2 star)

I love you so much, nearly had PTSD after starting a new game on PC and thinking about how long I looked for that damn Moose back in the day on xbox lol Got it first try, was "only" a 2 star but fuck it, just needed that damn antlers and the compendium for 100%

There is something in common in all the "parakeet" videos. And its the fact that in EVERY SINGLE VIDEO they are spotting them FOR THE FIRST TIME and ENABLING THE MISSION in that exact moment. But if you randomly found this bird once and you killed a couple but not the 25 and then you saved and kept playing thru... You can forget about them. Specially if you found them randomly with Arthur and now you are trying to find them with John. Nothing is going to work, trust me, forget about them.

I’ve been trying to get the camp fully upgraded before finishing chapter 2. Just needed the antlers. Stumbled upon this and did just what you said after hours of searching. Got to the point and saw nothing. I turned around like you said and thought “yeah right like this is gonna work”. I instantly turned around and saw it. Needless to say that moose took all 14 rounds I had in my Lancaster repeater to its dome piece. Thanks again

Has worked really well for me as far as spawning one in, all 3 so far 2 stars unfortunately so will keep going till I get a 3 star. Thanks for the great content dude 👍 Edited to say the very next try a 3 star appeared and I was soon off to the trapper to complete my last garment set. Got set upon by 3 strangers on the way during a triggered event I've not experienced before and then by a cougar just as I arrived at the trapper so had to kill 4 attackers on the way 😆 Cheeky game

This is one of those videos that seems like there’s no way it could work…and then it does. First try I got a moose to spawn (had to turn around 3 or 4 times but it did spawn). First one was only a two star. Killed it hoping that MAYBE my legendary buck trinket would make it 3 star. No luck. I fast travelled away and back again. Moose spawned again and this time it was a 3 star. The first moose carcass that I killed was still there and it still spawned. Had two skinned moose side by side. Also I thought it was worth mentioning that it doesn’t matter if you’ve been to Colter recently before trying this. Hella thanks for this video

Amazing, thank you so much! I ended up having to sleep 72 hours, saving and loading when it tried to block sleeping, and it spawn a moose first try after that at that location.

this worked for me, October 2024, on PC. THANK YOU soooo much!!! I spent 2 weeks trying to locate a dang moose, ugh!!! After getting a second in Barrows Lake, I'm trying to go back to Colter for a third, so far, just the wolf...
