Wet slippery day. Perfect conditions for the KTM 250 Freeride
Starting issues on a 2017 KTM
Просмотров 28 тыс.6 лет назад
2017 KTM EXC 300 2 Stroke would not start. Nothing would happen when you hit the starter. This was not a starter issue and we have seen it on a few of the 2017 models. This is how we checked and fixed it.
Sub frame mounting surfaces to the rest of the frame. I hate ktms.
Thanks,.
Is there a second video to you guys cleaning it ???
Brilliant, exactly this issue on my 2017......! Is there a KTM release/fix/reason for this or do we just hack a cable across?
Corrosion on the bolt and terminal, slightly loose. 100% sorted now, thank you!
You are a fkn legend mate you just saved me $ and headaches. Love your work mate keep it up.
Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
WOW... Is that all you could come up with? Man if I was half as smart as you i would be licking windows. 😂😂😂
@@christianhill7422 you mean instead of licking god's ass?
Hey Christian! Just came across your video. I have voltage slowly trickling back to the starter button after turning the bike off. Takes about 30-45 seconds to accumulate 12V through the circuit as to were I can start it again? Bad Earth? I've never seen something like this.
Why you buy a Yamaha 👍🏻
Wow sounds like the problem im having on my 4 stroke, will give it a try👍
You’ve lost the grounds to your electrical components, check the black/white cables in the wiring loom, they’re heavily taped up under the tank, the connector will have corroded
Hmmm maybe, but I think it's because the earth strap goes to the Alloy sub-frame, and Alloy corrodes easily, making the connection deteriorate. Running a strap from the battery neg to an engine bolt fixes the issue every time.
something so simple! diagnostic 101, KISS.. "Keep It Simple Stupid" great vid!!! Let us know where you find the problem. Thanks
The issue was that the earth relied on the bolts and connection from the subframe to the main frame and engine mounts. By running the secondary earth directly to the engine eliminates this issue.
And we enjoy this sort of stuff..hard to believe 😉
can'twait to get home.. same bike, same issue, same cause.. im curious if your mate had issues starting the bike cold with the starter?
Used to have issues starting cold, but ended up changing reads to Force and carb to electron and was perfect after that. If you only can change one this change your reads to V-force as factory ones are crap and have gaps in them from new.
This Canadian could kiss you right now. I’ve been scratching my head over this for 3 weeks. I would never have thought to check the neutral that way. I’m so glad you shared this. Well done and thank you.
nice! good to see you throwing up vids to help people out!! may throw a extra earth (-) cable onto my bike just because. its certainly something i do on my vehicles usually as an upgrade, never thought to do it on a bike because have never had a problem
Doing the Hard Enduro again this weekend?
Marcus Wyatt yeah thought I would come down and punish my self again. I really enjoyed it last year.
its been too long, i dont recognize half of it. love going up the rock garden though!!!
Yeah, its a great ride. I really enjoy it. This and Kneasville are my 2 favourites.
Was that Birch lending a hand at 8.25?
Milo Mindabinda yes it was. He was leading the gold class riders
yes it was
Yeah, those rides are fun.
Sweet it's the video called finding new tracks. Mean bro yeah I'll watch that tonight, I'm keen to give that a go!
Awesome video! We rode in here a month ago. Have you ridden up the puketui river and it ends up at the entrance to neavesville? Got a video on my channel of it.
No not yet, will watch your and see where it goes. Done the Wires track and over to the Waterfall on the Whangamata side. Now that was awesome and fairly hard work lugging the bikes up a few places. Ive put that vid up also.
hey u must have gone up there around the same time as me got up to where the skinny track split in two and it had a big crack in the middle of the tracks u must have got around that
Yes, it went right ff to the gut buster and self through scrub to bypass the wash outs. That track lead to the waterfall over by Whangamata.
Oh yeah we looked at that track but it looked to hard
Yes you can see thats where we were roping the bikes up. Great track but defiantly need 3 people so you can help each other get the bikes through.
nice vid! love that place!! was the track with the river crossings still a dead end? you got to the top of neavesville from both sides in one day. not bad!!
No you can just loop around, go down ridge line and around to river crossings and then over and around. Done 2 loops that day, was pretty hard work on rutted out track up hill.
Great training for the Hard Enduro. Is the area private land?
Not that I'm aware of. Is on the Road from Kopu Thames over to Tairua. Full of 4wd tracks and motorbike tracks. Great training area.
I've also experienced all those emotions...angry, hate, exhaustion, despair....but I loved it! Greatest race I've ever been involved in!
Yeah I loved it but was beyond exhaustion at the time and frustrated as most of my spills were down to poor placement and decisions. But thats exactly what an enduro is all about. 8 hours on the bike that day, and felt broken afterwards but was back next day.
dope man, i am so jealous of your bike!! haha
Its bloody good to ride and make most things easy to ride.
I know, great hill to ride and have to balance between being forward so wheel does not lift and being forward to much and loosing traction. Also avoiding people in front of you. Can't wait to do it again.
Sorry no editing was involved and so a bit drawn out. Will work on it for others
