Ratatouille (2007) Why here? Why now? Why not here? why not now? What better place to dream than in Paris? Just wanted a high quality upload on yt
I also to this day. Still love to say, yeah?Well, if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his ass ah hoppin!
The beginning theme song is actually pete seeger playing ode to joy by beethoven. The song she sings to Nathan and the song that is playing as sort of AA wind up lullaby, kind of is called down in the Willow garden. It's about 300 years old, give or take. It is also known as rose Connolly. She is the girl in the song that is murdered. The song is technically What they call a murder ballad. There's a lot of different versions. The closest to the way she is singing it. It would probably be by Ralph, Stanley, or The Chieftains. That's a pretty close one. But that melody has stayed in my head since I first watched this movie when I was a kid in the 80s. I hope that it's the day I do find Myself. Dying, as i'm slowly fading out of existence, I hope I can hear that melody to see me off
One of the best monologues of all time.
Just the comments everyone posted, funny how this scene touched everyone. Me also, apart of being a very funny movie this ending comes out of nowhere and touching, very.. very well written . I can say the best scene of this movie for me.
There's at least one instance here when we see Bud Cort having trouble keeping a straight face. I don't know how he kept from busting out laughing during the scene.
who else started yodelling the theme song?
To this day, I still use maybe it was Utah although less than less people get it
Utah😅😅😅 Just a hint of sarcasm 😂
Highly underrated movie
Jarmusch is a master filmmaker
god damn it... still gets me every time.
My wedding is going to have the "Song of the future" playing as my forever wife walks down the aisle. I am going to bawl like a baby too, as she walks, so beautiful, just like the first time i fell for her, and just like the way i fall for her every time i look at her. Beautiful, and amazing in every way possible. My soulmate.
RAISING ARIZONA is masterpiece and remains one of my favorite films. The end is particularly poignant.
"Grandpa. Tell us about the huggies." "Well...okay, then."
That salute makes this scene work so well.
i love this film...
I watched it just to hear him say, "Maybe Utah". Full knowing the result!
I first saw this movie at the age of 4, and now? At the age of 39? This ending hits me HARD with its beauty. Hi earned his happy ending.
Raising Arizona is a total cartoonish delirium, but it has one of the most emotional, thoughtful and fascinating endings of the History of cinema, full of light, understanding and hope for the family, the dreams and the future, something strange for the Coen's dark vision of the world...
Ending made me tear up.
This ending is always so touching, make me cry every time
This scene kind of strikes home with me. I’m fortunate that I was able to have at least one child who I love to pieces. My wife had a lot of complications with the pregnancy and unfortunately we didn’t think it would be safe for her to try to have any more kids. We always had our hearts set on two. But, at the same time, we do kind of have our hands full with our one child. She is slightly autistic and has ulcerative colitis. So, she is a lot of work. I’m thinking maybe it was meant to be. I don’t know….maybe it was Utah. lol
God bless you three. ❤️
@@TheLordSheogorath Thank you
I think so too for these three people as well!!
The elder couple that embrace each other while looking upon their family reminds me of my grandparents looking over us as a family. Whole. Together. Loving. Happy. Maybe it was Utah.
My favorite movie of all time. It changed my life as an awkward 17-year-old.
Mormons
One day I’ll have a family, and all will be good and wonderful in this world. This ending reminds me of what I hope so dearly to have one day. Some days it’s hard being alone, but this ending to such a silly movie gives me just the right amount of hope to keep going and not give up.
I got shivers when she said “Dad.”
Such a silly film with such a beatifull ending..
Hits different for some of us
How does it hit you?
1:16 Where all parents are strong and wise and capable. And all children are happy and beloved. Oddly enough, that kind of IS in Utah. Isaiah 35 Join the happy people, the covenant people on The Holy Highway. Hashtag PeaceInChrist.
I live in Utah. My best friends are Ex-Mormon. Their parents still are Mormon. Very stern, but incredibly loving of their children and friends. I think you’re right.
The soundtrack for this song was so nice. I like how they themed it off the song she sung to the baby and meanwhile he's having a nightmare for all nightmares lol
"Where all parents are strong and wise and capable and all children are happy and beloved..." He died and went to heaven.
I assuming you didn’t have that experience from your little epilogue.
Maybe it was utah
Hurricane or hurricune?
Ikr I have cried 5 out of 6 times. I have seen this film in fact you know!
One of the most beautiful sequences in all of film 😢😢😢
I guess this basically wasn't a sign of things to come but wishful thinking?
Powerful comment!
I got to watch this scene tonight, holding the hand of my boyfriend. We've been through tough times, too. It's nice to dream that the future can be better than the past.
Beautiful ending.
Gotcha!
Best movie. Need to see it again soon.
Me too.
Haven't watched this classic in approximately 3 months though luckily!
i watched this with my sister for the first time last month, and we both started crying but didn't wanna show it. beautiful scene.
The original to this song playing while he’s talking is “Down in the willow garden” She sang it to Nathan Jnr in the movie as well…beautiful but very creepy song actually. Go check out the lyrics.
Half of that feast was celery sticks and peanut butter. LOL.
Ants on a log lol
I cannot help but cry every time I've seen this. One of the most beautiful and moving stories of all time. ❤️ It perfectly captures the American spirit and dream. Strange Nic Cage has a way of getting to me. This, Mandy, Con Air, all have made me cry.
Dylan I'm 42 years old having buried my parents and grandparents and both my sisters and my brother. I raised 3 little girls who are my family and heart for 15 years. I just had to say goodbye to them when there mother found them a new dad and moved out of state. I listen to this video all the time and as strong as I am I still can't help but to break down and cry.
So beautiful
He speaks for all of us who one day hope we deserve or have earned the privilege of a loving family. Such a beautifully written ending.
I agree with you; very nice comment
Cage was brilliant in this film. So compassionate.
I’m sitting at my ex-husband’s grave, having just buried him. Whenever we made it through a hard time, and he wanted to encourage me, he would say, “Me and Ed, we can be good, too.” It’s surprising how poignant this silly movie could be.
That's awesome that he would say that. Great line.
much love
Yet so relevant….
Or maybe it was Utah.
Did you two divorce before he passed?
Haven't seen this in quite some time. It made me literally laugh out loud. Love this movie.
I just moved to Utah. I can confirm
Such a beautiful ending.
